  1. Yes, I was banded by Dr. srikanth at St. Francis.
  2. My Dr. likes to make sure you are on the high scale of everything before surgery. All my blood test came back in the good range. He had me on extra vitamin D some multi vitamins and I had to go in for some Iron infusion 5 seperate times and had a perscribtion for iron I had to take. Takes about an hour for the infusion. They put in a IV and let it drip in.
  3. Wow you guys get to have protien shakes after surgery? Im on clear liquids basicly just water since my surgery. tomorrow I can have the protien shakes. My Dr. says no more coffee for live. Not sure I can totally stop, I have had a few cups of decafe black.
  4. I didn't have much of a problem with the hunger pains. I described the pain like I was hit by a lousville slugger a few times in the stomach. I couldn't stay to far away from the bathroom for a few days afterwards. Took pain meds. not sure if they help alot but they helped. I had a long pre-op. diet so I think that helped with the hunger. Tomorrow I will be able to have my protien shakes again. I still have port pain. I want to caugh to get my lungs clear but that hurts like crazy. But everday gets better.
  5. I tried the nectar and didnt like it at all. My dr. wants me to mix 30gms of protien with only 4oz. of water and nectar might tast good if you mixed it by the directions. I use syntha-6 chocolate, cookies and cream, vanilla and i like them ok. I get them at suppersuplements. Buccfan:thumbup:
  6. Another thing I noticed must be normal with the fluids they give you and being swollen that I weight in before surgery at 308 and after surgery at 323. Anybody else have that? Buccfan
  7. Congrats Lojo. I just got banded on the 10th. I did great in the hospital got up every 2 hour walked for at least 50 minutes in the hospital hall ways. Got home on the 11th around noon. Stomach really started to tighten up. Best thing I can descripe it is like getting hit with a baseball bat a couple of times. I have to be real close to the bathroom bowel movement are something else. As far as the clear liquids im just drinking small sips out of a bottle there shouldnt be that much resticions on the band yet. When you say clear liquid thats all it is you don't drink the protien shakes till after you 5 days. Good luck. Buccfan
  8. Hello all, My first visit to the site. I will be banded Dec. 10th. Sounds like my Dr. is more strict on his pre-op diet. I get three protien shakes a day and all the Water I can handle. There is no food involved at all. I won't taste solid food till like week 5 or 6 post-op. even then is just sampling of food. He wants when I do eat that it is protien. No more sugar. I have been doing three scrambled eggs and 2 protien shakes a day for 4 weeks I have lost 30lbs. I still get cravings but very little hunger pains. Thanks for listening
