  1. Hi everyone thanks so much! I was banded 3 years and 3 months ago. Slow and steady really wins the race with the band I tell you. Consistency has been key to my success! I check in with my doctor regularly too and if I feel like I need a fill I don't let that many weeks go by before I go get it. Just gotta stay on top of it!
  2. I know there was a post where everyone was posting their pics but I could not find it so I just wanted to share my latest. Only 10lbs to go until goal! =) Before 252lbs Current 149lbs
  3. Hi Everyone - My husband and I are going to try to conceive soon. I'm curious as to how much weight those with a lap band gained during their pregnancy (or lost as I've heard that happens for some). Also, can you let me know if you had to have any Fluid taken out of your band? Thanks so much!
  4. My husband and I are going to start trying to conceive in the next couple of months. I was hoping those who are pregnant or who have already had a baby after having the lapband would have any advice or comments for me? Anything you have to tell me would be so much appreciated! We're a little nervous! =)
  5. I've had the same issue the past year. I've been in the "zone" but couldn't not seem to kick my high calorie drinks, I just love starbucks. I've found some motivation again recently and have been counting calories allowing myself to have 1500 per day with a 2 mile walk. I've dropped a few lbs this week. I would suggest not getting a fill and just log your food for a while and that will help you be more mindful of what you are putting in your body.
  6. Hey Alana! This has not happened yet! I am compiling a contact list of people who are interested. I wanted to compile a list of at least 2 people before putting something together and I'm not there yet. Do you want me to add you to the list? Email me at ladylapband@verizon.net if you're interested!
  7. Congrats!!! Very exciting!!! Don't be nervous May 7th is the first day of a brand new life that is amazing.
  8. Hey willow!!! I'll have to take some time like I did for the original group to collect user names of June Journeys and invite them to join the group!!!!
  9. I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time. There are many people in the same boat as you. Sounds like you and I were banded about the same time. My surgery was June 19, 2009 and I'm down about 100lbs. My best advice is to be aggressive with fills, I was. Also you don't need to work out hardcore, just walk. I walk 45 minutes everyday.
  10. Lap Band talk started groups again so I have re created out group!! here is a link! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/groups/show/7-june-journeys-2009/
  11. I started the process in Dec. of 2008 and found my my surgery date 3 months later. I have recently heard of the sleeve and it does sound neat but I would not want a surgery that is so new.
  12. I dont think that any food really has to go of course if you can't physically eat it then you can't eat it. Otherwise eat what you want because the band should make you not able to eat the amounts that you want!
  13. Some doctors will say one band over the other because that is all they have. All my doctors office had at the time I was banded was the Lap band...they didnt get the realize until months later
  14. I eat Chinese and Thai all the time, yum!
  15. I think you might using the wrong code?? Try the bbCode that tickerfactory gives you above the HTML one.
  16. Congrats!! I am so happy for you!!! I was just like you one that "held the weight well" lol I never looked like what I weighed to other people. Nov. 2nd is around the corner, keep us updated!
  17. Yay!! Congrats on taking the first step to having WLS! You should take a look at some blogs too you will find some great friends there!
  18. I am so happy for you that you have made this decision! Congrats! I only told my husband and my parents for the first 2 years. After 2 years I told a couple of people at work and 3 friends. I am so happy that I kept my decision private! I may consider telling people when I hit my goal but I am not sure yet. Please keep in touch I would love to know how your surgery goes!
  19. Good luck! It is getting so close you must be so excited! Let us know how everything goes!
  20. My husband does not sabotage me but he doesn't eat healthier like me. He goes to the store and brings home bad things all the time. It would be nice if he would not do that but at the end of the day it is up to me and I decided what I put in my body. I realize easier said than done but if he forgets your tea don't drink the soda he brings home, have Water instead. When you go to a restaurant order off the appetizer menu or a kids meal. If you know ahead of time where you are going look them up online before and pick something that is lower in calories. Its not easy to do it without full support but it can be done, you can do this!!
  21. Thank you! Congrats on getting banded, that is so exciting! Is everything going good so far??
  22. Thanks! Oh wow we really are right on the same page, my goal is 138lbs! I am so nervous about the last 10 or so.......blah its not going to be easy!
  23. Sure! here is a photo I put together when I was down 96lbs at 156lbs. I have not taken a photo yet of my 102lbs loss but I don't look much different.
  24. Oh thank you so much!! Congrats on getting banded soon! You must be so excited!!!!!
  25. I am so excited to report that I am now 102lbs lighter and am in the normal weight category!! I only have 12 more lbs until I hit my goal!
