  6. Thanks Beth I really appericiate your kind gesture. Today was my first day back at work and I was so tired, had a bad headache and hungry the oatmeal, soup wasn't cutting it so I am going to have light yogurt maybe some tuna fish and veggies and try and make a protein shake as well. I was feeling horriable today so hopefully better tommorrow. I am also working on water intake so far I am able to get 40oz of water not including other drinks.
  7. It is a journey and it's mine so I just have to take it day by day and make the right choices, excercise and not compare to what others have lost and all . I am just new at this so bear with me, What are sliders food?
  8. Yes, he is. If you are not staying overnight no need to pack much. You are going to be sore and groggy. I only had the clothes on my back, meds, insurance card and that was it. I did not stay overnight though good luck

  10. Hi all I have a question regarding foods and calorie intake I am on mushy/ solid food and I have noticed that it is quiet common to gain a few pounds back during this stage but I want to know what should I eat and what are the key factors in making sure I don't gain too much weight back during this time. I am starting to feel hungry and I am concerned that I am not getting the recommended amount of Protein? Please help thanks
  11. Hi Everyone I am one week post op pretty much feeling back to normal. I have some occasional pain on my port site but I am feeling good otherwise. I am on mushy/solids stage and I am craving real food. I am back to work next week. I have started to work out slowly and I am hoping by next week I can really get back into gym. Curious to know how all the other Bunnies are doing?? Take care. 8lbs lost not much but I am fine with that for one week. I want the weight to come off graudually cause I am really scared of lose skin.
  12. I had the option of staying overnight and decided to come home. My honey took the weekend off and he took great care of me. There is no place like home. My Bed was uncomfortable at first but I got used to it. I wanted to do everything normally so I would know what to expect.

  18. Hi everyone Just wanted to check in and let everyone know I am doing okay. Banded yesterday 4/17 little nausea yesterday from all the drugs, sore in port area but nothing too bad. Got home around 7:30 p.m. and my honey took really good care of me. I got up around 12 today and was able to shower with no issues just sore when bending and reaching down below. Took another nap and I am know thinking I am going to make a very thin milkshake. I am on liquids for first week and then to pureed my doc said if I feel hungry then start on purred I am a little scared to try "real food". That's pretty much it for now. I will check in when feeling better Thanks for everyone support
  19. Not to sound negative...Just real advice (I am in school for nursing and I work in the bariatric unit at my job ) but given your age and health conditions that you listed I would say look into the LapBand and really do your research with WLS surgeries. There are alot of great surgeons in Mexico that people have posted on here but Follow up care is a crucial part in being sucessful in whichever surgery you do and I would not refer my grandma to Mexico for surgery and feel safe for her for the aftermath.. I am all for mexican surgeons but please look into Lapband and do Homework with Gastric sleeve before going "the cheaper route"
  20. Hi Bunnies I was quiet about it at first just cause I wanted to make sure I was going to be approved by insurance and all before I actually told people. Since being approved I am more open about it. So of course I told Parents, My 2 Best friends, Fiance and his mother,My supervisor who has been looking into the Procedure herself and a few people at work that I am pretty sure have an open mind..and will be supportive of my decison and also a few of Co-workers have had Lapband too.. so that of course makes it easier for me to want to share. I am pretty open about things but I figure this for me is a need to know basis. I think as the weight starts to come off and be more noticeable more people @ work will start to wonder and ask? But I can really care less about what people think about me. Only God can judge me and I am doing this for me.. No one else so whatever makes you all feel comfortable do. I just don't want everyone asking me how much weight have you lost? and all the other questions that come along with it. My fiance told his BF that I was having surgery this friday and I told him he wasn't supossed to tell anyone until afterwards and he told me that his friend won't judge me and he just wanted to be able to talk to someone about it besides his mom and me. So I accepted that I was just a little embarrased at first.. I am really nervous but I have faith and I am prayng for all of us.. Take care
