Dang, your Dr's tough!! Toughest one I've heard of yet!!

I was having trouble with constipation and started getting stomach cramps especially after having tomato soup. I finally had to take sensoket s and felt better.

My directions say to eat till satisfied or 1/2 cup whichever comes first, but never more than 1/2 cup

I swallowed my pills the day after surgery. The Dr said as long as they fit through the top of a Water bottle they will be fine. I have had no problems.

For me it was one week up a few pounds and then I was down 4 pounds from my pre-op weight.

My Dr let me take my medicines in pill form the morning after surgery. He said as long as they will fit through the top of a water bottle they are ok. I also take hydrocodone for spinal problems. He prescribed liquid to take in addition but as the other poster said, you have to be careful not to get too much tylenol. I spaced them out a couple hours. I have had no problems taking all of my meds in pill form.

My Dr put it in writing............No sex for 4 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had read, I think on this board, that it helps to move the shoulder up and down repeatedly and then in a circular motion. Maybe it doesn't make sense if it is referred pain, but it does work for me!!!

I did paperwork at home on the weekend which was 5 days after; only a couple hours. Today, I had to do a monthly report that took 5 hours. I got it done with one 30 min break and didn't feel any worse than I ever do when I do it (I have spinal disease). Part time work should be fine at a desk.

My surgery day was also 11/24!! I'm doing well and hungry so I guess I'm healing!! Update>>>surgery day 237.5 today 234 Thanks for the spreadsheet!:cursing:

The center called me today, and when I said I was hungry they said I could start the cream soups now. It was so good!!

I fwfeel it when I walk. I am only 3 days out. It feels like I started a new exercise program. Very sore calf muscles. I have been drinking loads of water. It only hurts when I walk.

I got mine 11/24 and I'm feeling quite hungry too. Sounds like we are on the same diet. When I do eat, I can't finish the 5 oz of broth or protein drink before my stomach starts hurting. And, nothing sounds good. Nothing tastes the same either. The popsicles taste too sour and the jello too sweet. I did mix the bariatric chocolate shake/pudding mix as a pudding today and got all of that down. I would love to have some eggs or oatmeal about now!

Total including 2 year follow-up care and support is around 17K. Insurance will cover all the tests required beforehand. They have a very good finance plan with options for payment plans. I had my surgery at Surgical Hospital of AZ. The center has moved and they are building a surgical center on the property where they will be doing it sometime in the future.

I had mine Monday. They said it went smoothly. I arrived at the hospital at 12:30 and was called to pre-op around 1:30. I changed and the nurse started an IV in my hand, but it was not good enough to draw blood and she wasn't that good so I requested the nurse who had started the IV for my scope test and she got it right away. I was scheduled for surgery at 2:30. I was the only surgery my 2 Dr. team had that day and they were there. However, all the other Dr's were backed up with their surgeries so a surgery room did not become available until close to 4:30. I was very thirsty and anxious. My Drs decided to go shopping for Christmas baskets at Costco while they waited. When the room came open, The nurses were a bit upset that the Drs had not done their paperwork!! Anyway, everything went fast after that and before I knew it I was in recovery. I was very cranky and moaning in pain and demanding pain meds. The mean nurse said I just needed to walk and pain meds would make it worse. Thankfully I got morphine as soon as I got to my room. After that, pain was minimal. Mostly when I tried to raise myself to stand or twisting, and that is how it is at home. I had trouble urinating that evening, but it started in the night and it seems like I can't stop now because they gave me so many fluids in the IV. I have had broth, crystal light, and water. My stomach aches after I eat (drink) probably from the gas. I get some shoulder pain now and then. I am taking liquid vicodin and pill form. I take vicodin for my back regularly so the Dr has me taking extra due to my tolerance. The liquid tastes terrible. He is letting me take all of my meds (3) whole because they fit through the top of a water bottle, and I have had no problem taking them. None were available in liquid or chewable. Overall, the discomfort is way less than I was expecting and I understand each day is better, so I am pleased because I am a big baby when it comes to pain! I am not really hungry yet. I am supposed to stay on clear liquids for one week.

Flagyl is given to kill certain types of bacteria or parasites such as giardia or I guess prevent as well. I tested negative for every single test I was put through so I guess he does it as a preventative measure. I shall certainly ask. It seems it must have come up with other patients before me. Thanks!! I'm Mon at 2:30. I was up till 5am this sun . Just could not go to sleep. Then I slept till noon. The rest of the day I have been really busy trying to get everything done. I picked up my scripts on Fri, but found my liquid vicodin was missing. I was prescribed 2 antibiotics to take 3 x's today. I had taken one dose and went to get my pain med. The pharm asked if I was taking the flagyl. I said I was but only today. He asked if the Dr knew I was going to take that vicodin. I said well he gave me all the scripts. He said well I can't gve this to you. I panicked and said , but why? He said that I could not take it with Flagyl. I told him that I would not start the liquid vicodin until Tues. He said it did not matter, the flagyl would still be in my system and he had better call my Dr. I told him to just give me my pain med and I would flush that flagyl. Then I asked him what would happen if I took it and then took liquid vicodin. He told me that the liquid vicodin has alcohol in it and I would start vomiting violently and be sick like I never had been in my life!!! OMG, this after having been banded. Can you believe it??? I just hope 1 dose causes no problems. Aside from that, I have been through an array of emotions from happy to crying and I will just be glad to have it over with tomorrow!! I lost 11 pounds on the pre-op and had lost 15 prior. I have severe arthritis in my knees. My knees finally stopped throbbing so much. They are still a bit stiff, but not nearly as painful They used to wake me at night and I could barely walk (spine still makes that difficult). So, there is hope in sight for you soon I bet!! I weigh 237 now and I get banded tomorrow!!! I can't sleep!

I had enough trouble figuring out how to get the ticker on. I refuse to try any more signatures. I also refuse to give up my nicorette gum!

I am in AZ too!! Phx/Tempe border. I get mine 11/24 at Surgical center of AZ, Bethany Home and 19th Ave. You already have had good results! Did you stay overnight? How long did you need pain meds?

I can usually lose 5 pounds quickly by eating only meat, poultry, and eggs, nothing else. And lots of water. I bet it will work for you too!!

What time are you scheduled for on the 24th? Mine's scheduled for 8:30 unless someone else wants that time as I like to sleep later!!! Yeah, like I'll sleep that night anyway!!

The best wishes were for you!! This pre-op diet is getting the best of me!! Not really. I get to have some chicken and turkey with my o fat 0 sugar protein drinks!!!
