I'm on postop day 5 and feeling WAY better!! Altought i've been having crazy heart burn, which I've never experienced before.. I thought I was dying it hurt so much.. the gas pain is still there, but it's getting much better.. how are you poodles?

I wonder if it's because i eat too fast or should I say drink too fast since i'm still on liquids...

how is it that walking helps?

I've been feeling pain in my left collar bone area.. is that gas pain?!?! how the heck is gas up there.. I'm 6 days post op

Mine went well. I was in a LOT of pain after surgery, and I felt like they were withholding drugs from me (which made me bad). I'm still at the hopsital, so the beds work really nice for sleeping... I had just slept to much after the surgery that now I'm wide awake with no one in sight :wink2:

Medical Edge with Dr. Ortiz (Mexico, Tijiuana) has trained nurses in alberta... Not sure if they do fills for others though, something to look into!

Hey everyone! I've finally got everything in order, and will be banded on Dec 30 eeek! What is a list of things I should bring with me to the hospital to help make the surgery go smoothly. And any other advise would be AMAZING!

Dec 30th in Mexico!!! I can't believe this is actually going to happen! OMG OMG OMG. I feel like a 13 yr old who was just asked out on her first dance!!!!

What company did you finance through?? What were the interest rates like?

Hey everyone... Where is the least expensive place to get this procedure done in Canada? With the plummeting dollar, I was hoping to get in done in Canada instead of the states/Mexico.

Is it hard to keep it a secret from people?? Don't they realize your eating differently?!

I know what I have to do. And I will in late December. I rather do this while I'm still young so I can experience the rest of my life to it's fullest. Without being stuck in this body! Do you guys know of any books I could read to help me understand more?

It is like hitting my head against a brick wall! So frustrating. I might have not told my mom if I lived in a different City, but I see her so often she would notice the difference in my fridge/eating in a second... When she was married at around my age she weight 105 lbs.... I weigh almost THREE times that.. she just doesn't understand the stress/hurt being fat causes a person...

I've discussed this with my parents, and they just DON'T GET IT!!! I'm so frustrated... and feel like now I have to do it behind there backs (which I don't like)!!! Haven't most people found success with the lap band? Why do people think this is SUCH a big deal? I'm so frustrated

I'm from Edmonton, Alberta. This is definitely something I sprung on my mom. When I called her and said I wanted to speak to her and my dad alone I had to interget with a "No I'm not pregnant or getting married" - hahaha. She has had problems with her weight - when she was my age she weighed around 100 lbs !!!!! but with kids and such she gained lots of weight, and is no under control and VERY active!!!!! I on the other hand have always been overweight, and I mean ALWAYS. I'm tired of it, and can't afford to wait or to pay in Canada.

I'm still going to get the band, she will be supportive either way - but she cried :teeth_smile: , just wondering if ppl had anything to say about Mexico or the experience in general - I want to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly
