Canadian Thanksgiving
Good thread. Off to the mother-in-laws house. also there will be the step-dad-in-law and the actual father-in-law and step-mom-in-law. Whew. And the brother-in-law and his wife and child. All one big happy family (?). This happy (?) event will occur in Burlington....so we will be arriving Sat and leaving Sun. The M-I-L will do the cooking but will likely nab Mr Yoda to help (the curse of being a chef). What am I eating? Very little!!! It will be tricky ...none of them know about the surgery (nor will they ever know!)....so I will have to do the "move the food around the plate" bit. When I throw some out they will hopefully just think that perhaps that was my second helping and I merely didn't eat it all!! I'm curious to see is they notice any weight loss. What about you Cloe? You never said.

Hello
Hi Yasmina...and yes....welcome to the Canuck Corner. Too bad that the first post to your query misled you....it is quite obvious that person was NOT from Canada....don't get sidetracked from the non-Canadian responses; very different story indeed. No....nobody has been able to have it covered in Canada as far as we know. Good luck in your decision and the process...it is really a small price to pay for your health and a long and happy life! :grouphug:

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yeah Loriely....I drink a lot of crystal light (well I used to drink more of it before my last fill). I really love the strawberry bananna one and the raspberry/cranberry one (I think that is it)....and the lime. I also find them sweet, but I just add in more Water. I actually got Mr Yoda hooked on the single packets....he takes those to work every day. Mind you I haven't been drinking crystal light at work; only at home. I should maybe try to bring some to work. But....unfortunately, like the water situation, I find that I'm not drinking enough of ANYthing....including the crystal light. I didn't do well with it today, either....I think I forgot! I had one bottle at work (I should be having - and used to have- four).

Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!
Hey Cloe....I truly didn't notice that you had thin hair or anything when I met you....I realize I didn't see you during the "before"...but you know what I mean. Do look for the Nioxin; I have heard wonderful things about it and my friend who lost a TON of hair after her bypass had some help with it. It is avail in stores here (ie. Trade Secrets and other hair product stores). But...(& I know easier said than done)....try not to worry about it; it is a small price to pay for the healthier you...and it WILL come back....even better than before!!! As for me....I have noticed some thinning but nothing major. But I have extremely thick hair anyways and I'm always forever getting it thinned out.....

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Yeah? See that is just plain weird, eh Neenagh? Why are we doing that (not doing it!) when we did it before?!!!

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Okay.... hmmmmm I'm having trouble for some reason with my Water intake. Not physical trouble..... Pre-op and up until my last fill I very easily drank at least 8 cups of water a day. It was especially easy at work while at my desk (a lil' harder on the wknds away from work). I kept ticky marks to track my water intake so I knew where I was at and how much more I needed. It really did the trick and helped me stay on the water intake track. I just now noticed that since my last fill (25 Aug) I have sooooo not been keeping up with the water intake. I did notice ...(at work) that I wasn't keeping on top of it...and did try; albeit half heartedly I guess. And it has gotten worse and worse and worse. I noticed today I only drank about one cup of water at work. WTF??? I think it started because I was "scared/anxious" to drink too much after my last fill.....and then....I don't know if it became habit to not drink it or if I was experiencing difficulty (& maybe just didn't recognize it?)? In any event I've GOT TO GET A GRIP on my water intake and drink more of it.....like I was before. I have put this as a second goal for myself on our Canuck Challenge for Oct. All that to say....has anyone else noticed their water intake has drastically been reduced for one reason or another (even if subconsciously?).
-
The All-Canadian October Challenge!!!
Okay....I have another goal too. Drink 8 cups of Water a day...minimum. Very difficult lately (see Yoda's Yammerin's!).

Lila's Lounge
Thanks for the vibes Cloe! Yes, I drink tea...but not often. When I do, I have a really nice spearmint tea I like. Overall, I have a problem drinking hot liquids (ie. coffee, tea, hot chocolate, neocitron)....dunno why....always have. But as I said, if the tea gets cool enough I will drink it....but there is a short window of opportunity before it is cold and thereby icky!

Lila's Lounge
Thank god I don't like coffee. BLECH. NEVER drink the stuff. BLECH BLECH BLECH!!
