  1. That is great Maria; you really are doing awesome!
  2. Lila...what I did postop while I was hungry was I sucked on popsicles. I got the Delmonte fruit sugar free ones and every time I got the growlies I would go get one and suck on it. It seemed to help me. So, you can always try that to keep the hunger at bay.
  3. Hey Maria, I'm curious....do your fellow "Tops" people know about your surgery? If so...how did they react to it?
  4. LOL just click on the button that says "quote" (Bottom right). :rolleyes
  5. HMmmmm I don't get what the problem is. I signed up for that site wayyyy back (before I was banded even) and I was on it immediately (okay, well a few hours). Of course, I haven't been back since about May.....WAAAAY non-user friendly!!!!
  6. Hey Green: it twas likely the rice that did ya in. I've heard many bad things about rice and I s'ppose that is the reason I haven't tried it yet since being banded. But I'm not missing it. Cloe: I used the kids plate/fork at the beginning but now I'm pretty much using the regular size plate but not putting a whole lot on it. I figure I can go back for more should I want it (actually, that hasn't happened yet!). Sometimes I use a side plate if what we're having doesn't require a lot of "room". I too am also trying to put smaller portions on my plate....I think I have a handle on it; though sometimes I still leave stuff on my plate. I know, I know...it is tough though, ain't it? I mean, it is a HUGE mind set change. Though I think I'm doing well "eating slowly"....it still feels weird when I am still sitting at the table trying to get through my meal; it brings back too many vibrant memories of when I was a kid at the supper table and either didn't like something or just plain didn't want to eat anymore and yet my parents would force me to sit there and keep eating. *sigh*. How little they knew back then! So, I guess the inner child in me feels like she is in trouble when I'm still sitting there chewing away. Weird.
  7. That's ok Cloe; we knew what you meant *rolls eyes* :)
  8. Glad u are well! Shopping!!! Do tell!!! Take care of yourselves over the next few days.
  9. HOLY CRAP!!! Speaking of progress....lookit YOU go Maria!!!!!! YOWZERS. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  10. Hey Mandi....it'll happen with Dan (the altering eating habits)...just don't push him ...be sure to only manipulate him in a covert way! haha. Seriously though, it'll happen....it is AWESOME that you will join a gym together. Really, how kewl is that? You will have a built in work out partner and you can motivate one another, ya know? Once he joins the gym and starts to see little changes, he'll be more motivated to "eat better". As for you....yeah, it is hard to notice the difference/changes in ourselves; I agree. Take photos and compare to your befores.....that should do the trick. As for your last comment: I'm just teasin' ya! I'm really not here! :bandit
  11. Yeah mandi...that is apparently the price PLUS hotel (approx $110/night for hotel)!!!! I think it is $150 for a guest to attend the conf. too. I haven't seriously looked into it and don't think I'm going but I thought I'd pass the info on. Wow...see...I didn't really look...is it really $70 for the meal???OMIGAWD....hellllooooo...bandsters here!!! LOL
  12. My bad!! LOL Thanks for keeping me in check.. Here is the link! http://www.canadianbandsterbash.com/index.htm :paranoid
  13. Here is the link for the Bandster Bash being held in May 07 in Mississauga (ie. Toronto). I know there is probably a lot of talk about it on that "other" Canadian band site (LOL) but I haven't seen any alluding to it here. So here ya go for those who are interested. I actually got the info and site from an Australian!! How ironic is that!
  14. I'm sure you'll notice a big difference in the numbers Mandi; be sure to let us know. Also...I would just like to state Mr Yoda's stats....because I am so dang proud of him. He is not banded but has voluntarily (& gladly) altered his lifestyle (specificially his eating lifestyle!) to coincide with mine. As a result, he has lost 25 lbs and 17.5 inches since my surgery. Yay him! :clap2: :clap2: (oh...and don't worry....the 17.5 inches lost does not include any "key" areas!!!) *chuckles* :humble:
  15. LOL Thanks Wheezy! Mmmmmmmm.....cake! :hungry:
  16. Ummmmmmm....no one. freak? who said freak? It was actually HIPPIE FREAK!!!
  17. Mmmmmmmmmmmm beefaroni.....mmmm :hungry: Actually, no, I find testosterony MUCH tastier than beefaroni!!! :paranoid
  18. Okay, so today was my weekly weigh in day ....scale did NOT move. Big Surprise there (damn turtle). This was also my once monthly measurement day. So far, since Apr I have lost 31.5 inches (total of all inches lost in chest, waist, hips, right thigh, right calf and right bicep). Most notably...10 inches of that has been from my waist and 7.5 inches from hips. Also...to Mr Yoda's dismay...6 inches from my chest! Yet, as good as I know that is, I STILL want to see my scale move!!!! Are we sick or what?!!!
  19. LOL you are as bad as Mr Yoda!!! No amputation yet but I would like to amputate my belly! :phanvan
  20. Loriely: u should tell mr. Loriely to post too! We could use some testosterony input on here too! hehe
  21. Yeah, I admire them, that is for sure....especially the Skimpy ones posting! It is a great motivator though so I do appreciate it!!! I know my limitations and THAT I could never do!!! LOL
  22. I'm no longer on one of my hypertension meds....I don't expect to come off the other one though....even if (I mean when!) I get to goal....I've had hypertension since my early 20s (when I was thin). So, going off one of 'em I find to be a major NSV. Also, I bought a size 18 pants the other night and they fit!!! YEEEEHA. I fell in love with another pair of jeans and bought them at size 16....course I can't do 'em up...but I will soon enough...and then they will last me longer!
  23. the MoM is so disgusting; I tried it once and I swear....NEVER again...no matter what!! I do use Benefibre in my Protein drinks and therefore I don't taste it. However when I've tried it in Water (nothing else)...I do find it quite gritty and to me it tastes gross....but as I said ...in my Protein Drink I don't even know it is there!
  24. That's great Angel Bear. My scale didn't move today either (my once weekly weigh in) but I did lose 4 inches (overall) since 30 days ago. So...yeah, it helps knowing that!
