  1. Thats what I thought. It hasnt gone thru the band yet into my stomach.
  2. Hello, everyone! I had my 3rd fill in March and Wow! I finally got what I wished for. I dont think I'm too tight or have too much restriction, but I cant help still eating at the same speed and still taking big bites. I've lost 66 lbs since October and continue to lose slowly, but steadily. Im not looking for sympathy or judgement. Here is my question: Because I eat too fast and dont chew my food into mush or take small bites, I tend to throw up. So, is it really THAT bad to throw up and what can it do to me after a long period of time?
  3. Egg drop soup, Sugar free pudding, ice pops, tomato soup, hummus, tuna salad, egg salad, shrimp salad, yogurt, cottage cheese. Chicken noodles soup from can is so mushy, its ok to eat. Try www.highproteinfoods.net for some ideas. Good luck.
  4. You are very wise for your years. You seem to have a very good head on your shoulders and know exactly what youre talking about. This guy texting the daycare worker DEFINITELY has other motives than just flirting. It is very inappropriate and the girl's mother purposely told the wife about it so she can address ir with her husband. I think his wife caught him red-handed and he was very guilty. Btw, I dont believe that once a cheat, always a cheat. We are all humans, not perfect, and make mistakes. It is devastating to be cheated on, but everyone's circumstances are different.
  5. Immediately after surgery I felt like "OMG!!!!, what did I just do?". I felt scared and like a big loser who had to resort to surgery to lose weight. But, I got ove that real fast once the pounds started coming off. I was banded in October and have lost 64 pounds, feel great, look great and can do a lot of stuff now. This will pass for you. Its very common. Dont worry. Good Luck!!!
  6. Tell them to shut the fuck up and mind their own business! Sorry- I needed to say that.
  7. OMG!! You should be drinking Protein drinks until you move to the next stage, which is mushies. You are supposed to get 70-90 grams of protein per day. If you are feeling weak and sluggish, you are starving yourself. Didnt anyone tell you at the doctor's office what you should be eating or did they just band you and send you home?? I bought Isopure Perfect lowcarb protein shakes at www.vitaminhsoppe.com
  8. Dont worry, I dont think ur band has slipped. Just sounds like ur band was never filled enough to give u restriction. If u havent thrown up at least once, you are not tight enough or you chew really, really well, take small bites, and eat slowly. I finally got restriction on my 3rd fill and since October of 2008, I have lost 65 pounds. You should have gone to you doctor in the past year for a fill. But, keep your appointment, get ur fill and u should be fine. Dont worry.
  9. You've probably hit a plateau. Dont worry, it passes. You probably need to change things up a little. Different exercise routine, different food. Are you writing down what you eat? You will see results again. Maybe you've lost inches instead of pounds, which is even better. It happens to everyone. It passes.
  10. yOU NEED ANOTHER FILL, THATS ALL? yOUR STOMACH SHRINKS AND UR BAND GETS LOOSE.
  11. My doctors suggested Isopure Perfect low carb. I bought chocolate and vanilla and got great deals on them at vitaminshoppe.com.. They have 50 grams of Protein.
  12. Youre supposed to eat more meat, thats where your Protein comes from, not salad. No nutritional value in lettuce. This doctor is absolutely right. Green vegetable are a better choice. But protein must be eaten first to fill you up longer. Salad doesnt fill you up unless you load it with nuts, seeds,m avacadoes, etc. What kind of a doctor tells you to eat salad instead of protein? My doctor is very well-known in lapband and never suggested salad instead of protein. Protein is what should be eaten first to keep you fuller longer.
  13. According to my doctor, who is very knowledgable anf know for lap band surgery, protein should be eaten first in order to keep you fuller longer, followed by vegetables, then carbohydrates. Lettuce greens DONT KEEP YOU FULL!! They really have no nutritional value other than being loaded with water. No real fiber is lettuce. Any green vegetable are great like broccoli, spinach, kale. So that doctor is right. Salads are not satidfying and they do get stuck. It really isnt a sound nutritional choice. Stick to protein and actual vegetables, not useless lettuce leaves.
  14. Dont get discouraged, my restriction didnt take effect until the 3rd fill and then Bam! I now have to chew food really well and take small bites, but I still will have to PB(Productive Burp) once in a while. Im a fast eater, cant help it. What your feeling is called Bandster hell, I think. No restriction and your relying on your willpower. Its friggin tough. I was told to wait 6 weeks before I got another fill. The want to do your fills slowly so you can adjust. It will happen. Good luk!
  15. Dont know, but if u want a dessert, try putting some vanilla and cinnnamon. Delish!
  16. yOU MIGHT BE TOO TIGHT, BUT FOR THE MOST PART, THATS THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE. yOUS HOULDNT BE ABLE TO GUZZLE Water ANY MORE AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE SMALL BITES AND CHEW SLOWLY. yOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT AT LEAST 4OZ OF food PER MEAL AND IT SHOULD TAKE U ABOUT 1/2 HOUR OR 45 MINS
  17. Ok- here goes: It is not a full feeling like you ate too much. When u are banded, you have a small pouch at the top of your stomach that gets filled when you eat too much. So, when that gets filled, you literally, physically CANT eat anymore. If you try to eat more, you will not be able to get it down and you will feel like the food is just sitting there at the top of your band and you will throw it up. Thats called a PB or Productive Burp. Sliming is when you have eaten too much and now will produce a lot of slimey saliva and then you feel like u will throw up and YOU WILL THROW UP! Thats why u have to take small bites, chew alot and eat slowly. Also, there will be times when you eat so fast and dont chew, that you will get a pain in your chest that is horrible. So, its is nothing like eating so much that youre sickeningly full, your band gets full. I still want to eat, but I cant. Not a big deal. Follow the rules and that wont happen. Good luck.
  18. First of all, Girls. You should not have chest pains or get out of breath when talking. Nor should your stomach be "killing" you. You really need to talk to your doctors again about these symptoms. Its normal to feel pain after surgery where your incisions are and maybe the first day your chest might hurt, but you should not have breathing problems.
  19. I was told not to drink anything 30 minutes before meals and 30 minutes afterwards.
  20. Dont worry. Thats normal. I had no restriction until the 3rd fill and WOW!!!! Be careful what you wish for. I definitely have restriction now. Its different for everyone. My doc does a fill, gives me a glass of Water and waits to make sure I can get it down, because sometimes they can make it so tight that you cant even sawllow your own saliva. Maybe your fill will work on the 2nd one, maybe the third. Good luck!
  21. It stands for Productive Burp, which is what happens when you dont chew enough, eat too much, or east too fast. Your band becomes very uncomfortably full, you will produce alot of thick saliva and will feel like you have to throw up becuase that food wont go down. The only way to get relief is to throw up. Hope that helps.
  22. Whats a "Troll" post?
  23. Yup, sounds like you have been overfilled. Call you doc for maybe a slight unfill. Thats a really uncomfortable feeling. Dont wait.
