  1. My weigh in on June 8th was 208.8. Sorry for the late post!
  2. Kimberly7490, I am doing great! Everything has gone smooth so far, and my doctor is very pleased with my progress. How are you feeling?
  3. I'm in! My current weight is 212 and my goal 191.
  4. Praying for all of those who are being sleeved today. Stay positive and keep your focus on healing and losing weight. So thankful for our group of May sleevers...it's the best!
  5. Hi Lisa, hope you are continuing to heal well and get stronger each day. How can I be added to the Facebook group?
  6. Ms. Kay, what is your surgeon saying? I'm praying for you right now!!
  7. How are you feeling now, Ms. Kay?
  8. I was also sleeved on Wednesday and came home on Thursday early evening. I am feeling great...very sore like I've done a zillion crunches, but otherwise great. I had a hiatal hernia repair, lap band and port removed and the sleeve done. All with no pain meds...so thankful and happy that I did this!
  9. Hello Fellow Sleevers! I'm praying for all of you who are being sleeved today. Your new life is beginning! We have so many May sleevers...it will be exciting to keep up with each other and support each other through all of the transitions. Mine is on Wednesday, May 6th.....so excited!!
  10. That is so exciting! Congratulations!!
  11. Lipstick Lady, I absolutely LOVE your Lessons from your Sleevilla!!!
  12. Congrats to all of you that have gotten your surgery date! That is so exciting! It is nice to have this support group to share the journey. We can share our fears, our experiences and thoughts as we go along the journey. Matthew282, here in Delaware, we are required to be on the 2-week liquid diet for some reason. They say that the insurance companies are now requiring it. I am having a revision from band to sleeve. I was banded in 2008 and wasn't required to do any type of pre-surgery diet, so it's all new for me too. I start tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be on here looking for support!! =) We can do this! Here's to a healthier, more active life!
  13. Hi Manuela, Are you having the lap band done or a revision? My surgery is on May 6th and I'm having a revision from the lap band to the gastric sleeve. I begin my 2 week liquid diet tomorrow. Nervous and excited all at the same time!
  14. For those of you who have started the liquid diet, how are you doing? I start mine tomorrow and I'm very nervous! I go for final bloodwork today and then the 2 week journey to surgery begins!! Is anyone on the East Coast? I'm in Delaware.
  15. Hello All! I have my surgery scheduled for May 6th and I start my pre-op Optifast diet this Wednesday. I am excited and nervous at the same time! So happy for all of you other May sleevers! We can do this!!
  16. Congrats! I was just given a May 6th surgery date!!
  17. I just got my surgery date today - May 6th! I am excited and very nervous at the same time. I am having a revision from the lap band, which I've had nothing but problems from. I start my liquid diet on April 22nd for the 2 weeks before surgery!
  18. I went for a fill on September 22nd....took me to 7 cc's in a 10 cc band. Seemed to work well....lost 5 lbs immediately and then stopped losing. Started gaining after that. Off and on, I have gotten stuck, and recently I get stuck and vomit quite a bit...usually after about 3 bites of meat. Why am I getting so stuck now - it's been 7 weeks since this fill? I had to pay for this fill and I hate to have to pay to get an unfill and then need another one later? Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice? Thanks, Mary
  19. Definitely check with the pharmacist about crushing the meds. Also, at first you won't be able to get your 60 grams of Protein in....it is a goal that you are working towards. After about the first week, it should be a lot easier, although sometimes it is still hard to get it in then because you feel so full for those first few weeks. As for the gas pain, they advised me to Walk, Walk, and Walk again...the more you walk, the less gas that you will have. Good luck on your journey!! Mary
  20. I am 3 1/2 months out since surgery, and my hair is really falling out. I've seen the posts about Biotin supplements. Where can I find these? Do they seem to help? The good thing is my hair was really thick, but it is quickly becoming what most people would consider 'normal'....I just don't want it to go any further. Thanks! Mary
  21. I know what you are talking about. There was a post about this about 2 weeks ago. I will see if I can find it for you. Have a great day! Mary
  22. I am 8 weeks post-op and starting to experience a little of this. I know that it is from not getting enough protein. Start drinking at least 1 shake a day to increase your protein. Women should get at least 60 grams of protein and men should get at least 70 grams of protein per day. This is what we were taught in our classes. Hope this helps! Have a great day!:mad2:
  23. I was given my surgery date about 2 months before surgery. My approval did not come through until about 5 days before surgery. I spoke with the doctor's office and then with the insurance company (BCBS) and they said that approvals are not given until a few days before surgery. Just don't sign anything committing yourself to do 'self-pay' if it is not approved. Make sure the approval has been received!! Good luck! Mary
  24. I am going for my first fill tonight after work. I am REALLY nervous. I know that my doctor requires liquids for 24-48 hours after the fill. Is this Clear Liquids or full liquids (soups, etc)? Thanks in advance for your help! ~Mary
  25. Thank you so much for posting this. I needed to hear it today! My first fill is scheduled for Monday, February 2nd. I have read a lot on the boards and was really scared. Your post makes me look forward to it. My weight loss has started to slow, and I can't wait to feel some restriction. Thanks again! Good luck on your journey! ~Mary
