Hi I am Julie, I guess I am the oldest of the bunch I am 50 years old, I have 2 wonderful daughters, Kim who is 26 with a beautiful 3 year old Jazmine and Crystal has 2 beautiful children Aiden is 3 and Kynidi just turned 1. They are the light of my life. My husband and I have been married for 14 years and been together 17. We met and got married in hawaii, we were both in the navy and stationed there for 12 years. I retired in 1999 but I am still working and my husband retired last year and he is working for the Sheriffs department. I never really struggled with weight until about 10 ears ago, after I retired I quit smoking and starting gaining weight and it just kept going up. I am decided to do this so I can play with my grandchildren like I did my own girls. I am tired of having to go to the extra large section in the store only to find ugly clothes. I want to look great for myself, and my family. This is going to be one amazing journey. I thank each of you for supporting everyone.

when i went in for my preop i weighed 230 one week later the day of my surgery i weighed 213, i havent weighed since my banding of the 5th. I dont know how to put those tickles on here

hello, i was banded 2 days ago and stayed in the hospital overnight, yes they kept the iv in and overnight until i got rady to check out. i carried my own clothes to but stayed in the hospital gown all night. i wouldnt carry anything extra just what you wore in to the hospital will be fine.

jmegirl, dont freak out, we are going thru this together, we are going to do good, i am in 6 hours. I will let everyone know how it goes, I have to stay over night since I have sleep apnea, wished I could come home tomorrow but oh well, the doc knows why he wants me there i guess.

I am going to banded in about 6 hrs, when the hospital called me, they told me if i am on my period to not use a tampon to use a pad and if i start while i am being banded they will take care of me, they say it happens all the time.

I am retired Navy and i wasnt obese until I retired and quit smoking in 1999. I gained weight really quick and quit exercising, I have tried alot of diets and pills and nothing works, I lose and it comes back even more. I need help with keeping it off. I know this band and all of you here to support me and vice versa we are all going to do great. I am presently living in Gulfport, MS, we decided to retire here, my husband retired navy last year also. We have 3 dogs to, I am a dog lover. My date is the 5th and I am on day 5 of my liquids. I have been reading alot of the stages different people go thru before banding. I can only have 3 protein drinks a day and the rest clear liquids, i do this 1 week prior and 2 weeks after. What is some of the pre diets you are on? It just seems everyone is different. I am getting banded in New Orleans. I am happy and scared and not so much hungry but I am not going to lie I do wanna eat. Its really great to meet all of you.

Well I just went trick & treating with my grandkids , boy was it hard not putting that candy in my mouth, but I didnt. I am day 3 and so far so good, but I really wanna eat, not hungry just want to eat everything my family is eating. I told my sister mustard is probably going to look good tomorrow, lol. I know if we keep up with each other, we all are going to do fine.

Hello everyone, well I'm on my 2nd day of the pre-diet, its funny how everyones diet is different. I can only have liquids and 3 protein shakes a day, so far so good. I am not really hungry but I do want to eat. I have to keep talking myself out of it. I will keep everyone posted about my day. I have to stay in the hospital one day due to sleep apnea, but hopefully I get to come home early. Thanks for being here for us Nov bandsters. :biggrin:

Did you use Dr. Richardson, if so what do you think of him? I am using him. Thanks for any info.

Hello everyone I am being banded 5 Nov, I start my 1 week liquid diet 28th Oct. I am starting to get scared but I am also excited. I cant wait until I can buy smaller clothes and feel better about myself. I am glad someone finally started a Nov group, I was thinking I might be by myself. :tongue_smilie:

I just got my date to for 5 nov 2008 and I am new to the site also. I having been reading alot of the posts for a couple of months, I am like you, I am excited and scared at the same time. Its nice to know someone that is having it around the same time as me. Lets keep in touch.

D' I noticed on your picture that you and the gentleman is in front of a harley store, does you ride bikes and my husband is also retired from navy last year. Maybe we have alot in common.

I am so excited I just got on here this morning and said I was waiting on approval and then this afternoon I got called and told it got approved, so now I am just waiting on the date for my surgery. I hope I can meet all of you and we start that group.

Hi my name is Julie and I live in Gulfport, I have not been banded yet, i just finished all the test and now I am waiting on final approval. My doctor is from Oschners, Dr William Richardson, I should know in a couple of weeks if I am approved. I have been reading another lap band site in dallas, i didnt know they was one in gulfport. I will keep in touch and if I do get approved, maybe we should start a support group here. Julie
