i was sick two weeks before my surgery and they said a cold would be ok as long as i didn't have any infections. i was over my cold before i had surgery. but maybe you could try something like zacam...i am not even sure that is how you spell it.

I don't have a ticker yet...I need to get on the ball. But I was banded on the 28th and I was just checking in to see how all you were doing. I haven't needed a fill yet. The doctor said I could cancel my april appointment if I still felt like I didn't need a fill. That is in two weeks and I am still feeling pretty good. As of today I am down 31 pounds! Only 11 pounds away from 199. I am just so excited. I was worried this wouldn't work and everyone would know I had the lap band and I was failing at it but so far so good!

I was banded the day after you...I have lost 27 lbs (started slowing down last week) I haven't had any trouble with food. I usually get full with my cup of food. Then about two hours later I will start to get hungry but usually something to drink helps me until the next meal.

With being 12 days post op you are probably still bloated from surgery.

Can you dispute a claim that they don't pay. I know my insurance gives you six months to dispute something. I would try writing them a letter explaining that the fill is necessary for the band to work and they don't want to waste 20,000 on something that just sits inside you not helping at all. That is just silly on their end.

within reason of course....because its my birthday! So for breakfast I had a cup of fruit salad for lunch though we went to DQ and I ate two of my husbands chicken strips and six fries. And I have had a 100 cal pack of cookies and now I am baking an angel food cake. Not my cake of choice but its the only cake my husband will eat and he can eat it in one sitting so I will have my piece and give the rest to him. I am not sure what I will have for dinner yet.

I use to eat something sweet after lunch and in the evening. (Chocolate was my bestfriend) I was banded in Jan and I don't have a problem with skipping the sweets now. I think its because I look forward to being able eat actual food after being on the liquid diet for so long. Now don't get me wrong I still eat sweets. Like on Saturday I had a piece of cake at my nephews bday party and tomorrow is my birthday so i am planning on making an angel food cake. I was told the other day by my nutritionist that this isn't a diet its a life style. So the way I look at it its ridiculous to think I will never eat cake or cookies again but I have to watch it CAREFULLY. like only on special occations.

I had a cheeseburger and fries a couple days before my surgery. BUT I made sure I had lost ten pounds before I ate it.

I had surgery on the 28th of Jan. with the Realize Band. I haven't been hungry hardly at all. I have lost 20 lbs. I eat about 3/4 cup of food three times a day. I haven't had any trouble with the band at all.

My doctor asked me which one I wanted then I told him the RB. Then he said he couldn't guarantee that is what I would get they wouldn't know which one would work best in my body. So maybe your doctor wasn't giving you a load of bull.

I use my home scale that way its the same time of day each time. And I am not wearing anything! lol. I try to not to pay attention to the one at the doctor because I always weight more there.

I don't understand these insurance companies. But I have BCBS IL Federal. I had my surgery in Indy so it goes through Anthem BCBS. But they say that I still have the same coverage.

I lost six pounds the first week and nothing the second week.

My doctor said we could have baby food but man it was nasty. not really nasty tasting the texture was horrible. it was real gritty.

I have heard a lot of people say their port is under a breast. I am pretty sure mine is right by my belly button. That is where my biggest scar is and it gives me the most pain. I don't have any scars under my breast. I can't feel or see mine.

The first time someone asked me what I was doing I was kind of taken back I didn't know what to say. I now just say I have been really watching what I eat. And thats the truth!

I have the Realize Band and I was banded at the end of Jan. I haven't had any problems I haven't even had what they call bandster hell...yet. And I am losing pretty steady. 22 lbs so far. The online support is the reason I picked this band. It is ok. I did Weight Watchers last year online and I like their site a lot better. I might email the Realize people with some suggestions.

I had surgery on a Wednesday and I was back to work on Monday. I am also a stylist and on my feet all day so I would say if you are sitting you will be fine to just take a few days off.

Have you found a doctor who will do the procedure?

I was also banded on the 28th but I am only down 17 lbs down. I see you are from Indiana just curious but where did you have your surgery with? I haven't had any trouble with my band. I start feeling hungry about two hours after I eat then I have my protein drink and that tides me over until the next meal.

I am two week post-op. I was looking at my big incision and I messed with a scab and it came off..pretty easy...anyway now there is a hole there! I am freaking out. Its not bleeding but I am worried it won't heal or it might make the rest of the scar rip open. I think my doctor only used the glue. Is this going to be ok anybody know?

I wish my doctor didn't do the barium. I think that was the worse part of the surgery!

My doc took a before and after picture and gave them to my husband after my surgery. I thought it was kinda neat.

I too am one week out today. I still feel hungry after I eat my breakfast lunch or dinner. I have to wait two hours before I can have my protein. So I try real hard to wait it out. Then when I start drinking my protein I feel so much better.
