Long Term Maintenance
I've been on Saxenda for about three years. Started out at the higher dose and then was lowered to 0.6 mg a year ago and just stayed there. In my case, staying on a lower dose has worked well long-term, but Iโd recommend checking with your doctor about whatโs right for you.

Regain, ADHD and medication help
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. It's amazing when we find something that works to get us back on track. Best of luck in your final stretch. You'll do it! You know what else is great about this medication? If you need to lose some weight, you can. The other thing I've found helpful with my prescription (which I'm obviously going to continue taking) is working with my doctor to adjust my approach during particularly challenging times when cravings are more intense. When I had those difficult days, I worked with my healthcare provider on a plan and saw good results over a couple of days. I think this is something I'm going to continue doing as needed because it works well, always under medical supervision.

Wegovy is IT for me!!
Iโm on week 3 at the lowest dose (0.25) and I feel nauseous all day long, even if I havenโt eaten anything in hours. Itโs so bad that even though I want to eat, I canโt keep food down when I do try to eat because my stomach is so upset. If that feeling continues for you after a few months, it may be worth considering stopping the medication. I think everyone reacts differently, but this seems like an extreme reaction. I also have been experiencing some pretty crazy mood swings and anxiety since starting Wegovy (which has never been something Iโve experienced before). Again, this is just me, but if that continues after a few months it may be worth considering stopping the medication. Iโm so sorry you feel the same way! Itโs so frustrating. But I think itโs important to listen to our bodies and do what works for us. And in my case, Wegovy isnโt working for me on any level.

Disgusted, Disgruntled, but Determined
I would suggest you see an RD (Registered Dietitian) who specializes in working with post bariatric patients. They will be able to help you reset your plate so that the food you are eating supports healthy weight loss without feeling like you're on a diet. You can also look into joining a group where people are focused on similar goals. I've heard great things about WW because it's not about tracking calories, it's about making small changes to how and what we eat so that healthy habits become the norm. I would also suggest you start working with someone who can help you focus on your mental health - this is a big part of why people gain back weight after having bariatric surgery. Many clinics have therapists available, but there are other options (online and in person) that you could look into as well. Lastly, if you have access to online coaching through your insurance company, take advantage! That is what it's there for and you can get help from a coach who specializes in post bariatric patients - I think this would be the biggest piece of advice I would give anyone who has had bariatric surgery. You are worth taking that extra step to have access to resources so you can be your very best self! All my love, friend! You got this! It's totally normal to feel as though life has thrown everything at you all at once and now you're struggling a bit but you know what? We are so lucky we live in an age where there is no shortage of resources to help us succeed. I hope these suggestions will be helpful for you. Xo
