  1. Okay, even though I'm not doing a kick-start (doing the five-day after-fill thingy), I'm down TWO POUNDS since yesterday! Lookie, I made a mini goal!!
  2. Exactly. If somebody can't make it four days, maybe they should have been more committed to this and/or been honest in their psych eval or gotten therapy first. But hey, what do I know? I'm supposed to be on the AWWW Bandwagon.
  3. It's the ones who look for acceptance after doing something stupid that is the issue. Okay, I'll play: That's GREAT that you can have a Meximelt four days after surgery and that your stoma is so swollen and distended that it takes two hours to eat it -- and you DID it! It's a shame the doctors don't know what they're talking about because you can easily wash down Meximelts, chicken fried steaks, and Whoppers with big, yummy milkshakes as well. And top it off with a Death by chocolate dessert. I'm sure that everything is fine and everybody should do it. I'm very proud of the tenacity it took to attack that Meximelt head on and show it who's boss. Now let's go get us a thick crust double meatsa pizza and make friends. Better?
  4. Yeah, that's kinda long. I had my surgery the day after yours and I got my first fill today. I find (for me) that a warm mug of low-sodium chicken broth during those hungrier times between meals can help. I think it's something about the warmth and the savory flavor. As for the constipation, good ol' veggies or salad. Some fibers can stetch the pouch, most specifically the tablet form. I don't know about powder like Metamucil, but I was using Benefiber in my water or soup. No taste or texture.
  5. Radicals of any group usually do. lol
  6. *raises hand* Yup, that's me. Hell, I'd get nekked in my doctor's office if... okay, that day will likely come. I have no shame.
  7. I can't EVEN tell anybody what I did at WW one day to get my 25 pound star. I was .2 pounds off. I have no shame.
  8. Just ask his mom. She probably tells him he spells "grammer" correctly. It makes him feel good. No red marks for him, nosirree.
  9. No, but I swear I knew a few that must have been allergic to deodorant...
  10. We'll have to take up bets to see what gives out first: names beginning with J or her clown car vajayjay.
  11. You want to see self-righteous flameathons? A certain poster here berated other, more experienced bandsters for doing an end-of-year "jump start," calling what they were doing dieting and being rather condescending about the fact that they have fallen off the bandwagon when this person themself had to make a run for the border and go against doc's orders just days after surgery. There's a whole story here you are apparently not in on. I just happened to catch the self-righteous hypocrisy, as did others -- that's all. Nothing to see here.
  12. I know, which kinda blows because I was hoping to see what would happen (all in fun, of course). But of course there is one over there now who keeps insisting she has never told anybody to eat chicken tenders, and she doesn't even realize nobody was talking about her. Utterly amazing. We may as well go back to grunts and hand signals for all the good the English language does us anymore... I think I can speak for all the people here -- and Plain too -- in telling you we are all proud of you as well. Plain grunted, which I think means: SUSAN GOOD.
  13. Please, scrmom, nobody mentioned you AT ALL. Try and keep up!
  14. Please try to keep up. I wasn't talking about what you have done, I'm talking about others who go very specifically against doctor's orders and then tell others here who have done the same thing that it's okay because they did it too. If you followed doctor's orders (and what you had doesn't sound out of line at ALL), then what was said wasn't about you. Now if you had an entire chicken fried steak which was NOT doctor's orders, I wouldn't be sitting here and telling you that was okay. Some here seem to need that and get upset when they don't get it.
  15. Please don't forget that 1) you are still probably full of fluids from your IV since the 25th was just a few days ago; and 2) this stage is NOT about weight loss. If you have some, it is simply icing on the cake, so do NOT focus on that.
  16. I sincerely hope that is the case. Good luck with your band.
  17. That's the bottom line. By bent, I had a couple things during the mushies stage that I had to chew. I was supposed to have semi-solids that didn't really require chewing, but by bending the rules I mean I had some Greek yogurt with small -- very small -- chunks of cucumber, or my tuna wasn't pureed in the food processor but was mashed with a fork to as fine as could be. That sort of "cheating" is nowhere along the lines of shoving an entire chicken sandwich in my face and taking four hours to eat it.
  18. The problem is many doctors have specific guidelines right after surgery which only allow liquids for so many days, then mushies for so many days after, and then solids. Many doctors adhere to this. In my situation, it took nearly a month before I could eat "normal." The problem is I see too many people here who can't even go three or four days without shoving chicken tenders or other too-solid food in their gobs right after surgery AGAINST doctor's orders. My thought is, why did some people even get the band if they can't even go a few days without following orders -- and THEN they tell other noobs that it's okay to do it because they did and didn't have problems? That is what is wrong. No noob should be telling other noobs what to do when it contradicts doctor's orders. It can do severe damage.
  19. I had fun writing it. Was giggling like an idiot through the whole thing, too. Now I gotta go see what collateral damage there was. *cackle*
  20. LOL, so true. I thought about that when I posted it: Hmmm, rants and raves or lounge? :crying:
  21. Even if you did give them advice, you know what you SHOULD do. Too many of these noobs right out of the hospital say, "Eh, chicken fingers? Sure, I think I can do 'em even though the doctor said no."
  22. Didn't know the e-mail. Apparently now I need to look for an M&M -- and I'm REALLY hoping that's a Halloween costume of candy-coated chocolate and not some Face Speak. :frown:
  23. That was part of the problem -- there were about a dozen with your real name that came up. I was looking for a familiar facial pic but just couldn't tell by those little thumbnails. Then I just gave up and cried because I can't navigate Facebook. I bet my infant GD can... :frown:
