Hospital Stay?
I had a 24 hour stay in the hospital after surgery. I think that was plenty of time. I think 3 days is alot if you don't have complications. That sucks to have to pay for days in the hospital if you don't need them.

Help! I need some exercises to do while I can't walk!
Thanks for the suggestions. I just ordered a dvd called chair aerobics/chair boxing. Hopefully I can get some type of aerobic activity. I had put off this foot surgery for a while, and I couldn't really do much exercise before the surgery due to the pain. Walking was a challenge and there was no way I could run. Anyways, I am gonna see how that series is. Maybe I can order more. After searching, there seems to be quite a few dvds for doing chair exercises so thanks. If anyone wants to use the dvds when I am done, I will be more than willing to give them up:smile2:

Stop avoiding the camera at family functions. Wear a thong and actually be able to see it:)

Sex question
I have had the same problem. I was banded on July 23rd and I still have port pain during sex. I also tried to put pressure on the port but it still was uncomfortable. I tried a different position and had no pain at all. You should try different ones and see what works.

July22 and 23rd Bandits, check in here!
I am starting to feel really good now. I went to my post op visit, and now I can start eating soft foods. YEAH!! If anyone has any suggestions for what to eat, I would appreciate it. I have been eating applesauce and mashed potatoes, and I don't know what else to eat. Port site is still kind of sensitive if I lean to the left or bend that way but other than that, I feel pretty good!!

Hello i'm new from fresno
Hi, I had my surgery done in Fresno by Dr. Boone. I heard that Dr. Felix is an awesome doctor so best of luck. I don't know any primary doctors since I live in Merced. If I can help in any way, just let me know. On this website, you will find answers to almost anything. Make sure you look at a bunch of different discussions and Good Luck on beginning your new adventure!

i'm bandednow..and inPAIN! Hiatal Hernia anyone???
Hi everyone, I also had a hiatal hernia repaired while being banded. I don't think my pain was all that bad. I only took my Vicodin for the first 2 days and since then. I have been taking tylenol. I returned to work yesterday on day 4 and around 2pm, I was extremely tired but I did make it through the whole day. I think all of the walking around helped because today I feel sooo much better. I had a hard time breathing as well, but today, I haven't had any problems. All of the pain you all are talking about makes me feel soo much better. Now I know that I was lucky to not be in a lot of pain. Just walk around alot and use your spirometer and hopefully everything will work out.

are you taking your vitamins
My doctor never said anything about vitamins either. I will have to ask him when I go to my post op this Thursday.

July22 and 23rd Bandits, check in here!
Hi everyone, I am now 5 days out and I am feeling sooo much better today. I went back to work yesterday and I think I am doing pretty good. No more pains in my chest while breathing deeply. I still have soreness in my port area when I bend or lean to the left, but that is the only pain I am having. I have my post op on Thursday so hopefully I can move up to some blended or soft foods. I think I will have to be on liquids for 2 weeks though. I can't really remember. Everyone seems to be doing great!

Anyone Have Breathing Difficulty?
I am so glad everyone is using these posts. I had the same worries about the deep breathing. It really helps to know what is normal and how everyone else is coping. I had surgery on the 23rd and seem to be doing great. I do know that it is very important to use the breathing apparatus thing.(I don't know what it is called:rolleyes2:) It still hurts to breathe deeply but hopefully it will lessen in a few days.

July22 and 23rd Bandits, check in here!
I had surgery on the 23rd. My surgeon required overnight stay and that went pretty well. I am walking around ok and having pain mainly at the port area. I had a hernia repaired at the same time, but the pain is pretty tolerable. I don't have an appetite and I don't think I am getting the amount of liquids down that I should.

On My Way!
:smile:Had my pre op today and I am getting a little nervous about the big day. The big day by the way is July 23rd. This Thursday. I was told to do one day of liquids before the surgery so I think it will all hit me pretty hard after the big day. Well, I'm on my way!!!
