  1. Stepped on the scale today and have lost 100 pounds (and then a couple more) It's so hard to fathom that in 8 months my life has changed sooo much. The band was the best thing I have ever done:) I love love love my band!
  2. I looove the couch to 5k! I am almost done week two, and it has kicked me out of the weight loss platau I was stuck in. Feels kinda cool to be able to run!
  3. I have had hairloss for about 4 months, which is starting to slow down now. I get all my protien too and take all my vitamins. Just happens... not worried about it. Yet. LOL
  4. I was banded on July 20, 2009. Best thing I ever did:) Nice to meet you all!
  5. 3 more pounds until I am at 100 lost... I can't wait, nor can I believe it!!
  6. Thanks for all your help all, much appreciated!!
  7. Just curious about how many calories my fellow bandsters are eating daily? Im 31, 5'11 and fairly active. I work out daily, and work as a Nurse (means no sitting down!) lol. Im eating from 900-1000 calories daily and am stuck in terms of loss. How many calories do you guys eat daily, and what seems to work best?? Thanks!
  8. Nice!! Youtube has been an amazing source of info for me. I started my own channel too! Congrats:)
  9. Im a nurse as well, and to be honest.. one week is so not enough. I took 2 and still had a hard time going back. See if you can get another week girly!
  10. Yes, sometimes I miss being able to eat a couple of pieces of pizza or some of my old favorites. Mostly though I am so damn happy I have my band, and that part of me seems to just be a memory!
  11. Great Job! Congrats on your progress:) Keep it up!
  12. Hey all.... I just started a channel on You Tube today about my life with the lap band. I have learned so much from other bandsters on You Tube I thought I would start my own. Here is the link:) YouTube - Mellabella78's Channel
  13. I adore my band, glitches and all! 90 pounds down. Only regret is not getting it 10 years ago!!!
  14. Wow, I know exactly what you mean. I have been overweight since I was a child, so I have never known myself as anything by "the fat girl". Even when I was 330 pounds I never thought I was as big as I was, now looking at pictures I am amazed I was that size. I am now 225, and 5'11 and still see myself as "the fat girl". I still have some weight to loose, but have come a long way. I sometimes wonder if I will ever see myself as a normal healthy person, that maybe, just maybe someone might want to go on a date with someday! LOL. Funny, but sad at the same time.
  15. Haha... Mine is sooo loud too!
  16. Thanks for your help. I ended up throwing up all night, not even able to keep water down. Had to go have an Emergency unfil. Just one CC thank goodness. Feeling much better now!
  17. Sorry the band hasn't worked out for you, I love mine. Has changed my life! Almost 100 pounds down!
  18. Does anyone ever get that feeling after eating something that didn't get stuck per say.. but just "pissed off" your stomach? Today I ate something that went down alright at first, but an hour or so after got that full, irritated feeling. The rest of the day I could only sip fluids, but even that was uncomfortable. Now this evening Im feeling an acidy feeling, and am uncomfortable and it's still hard to even take fluids. Tips... Help.. please. Thanks!
  19. Phentermine messes your body up in so many ways, nevermind your mood, skin, and sleep patterns. Make sure you do a lot of research about it before you make a decision. As a nurse I have spoke to quite a few physicians about it, as I had thought about trying it before being banded and was advised strongly against it.
  20. The Best tasting protien shakes I have found are Called Muscle Milk. There are a variety of flavors that are all amazing. You can get them at GNC or online:) They are my Fav!
  21. Hmmm, thats a hard one. I think you know what I'm going to say.... only you can really answer that. That being said, before I took the risk of another (and far more invasive) surgery I would ask myself this.. Did I do most of the work, or did I expect the band to do it for me? As has been said a million times, the band is just a tool. It's 20% band, and 80% you. I would make sure I did EVEYTHING I could before undergoing GBP. If you can honestly say you followed the rules most of the time, worked out almost daily, and followed the band rules and still did not loose, then yes, I would consider having GBP. If not, I would get my butt in gear and work the band, instead of wanting the band to work for me:) I know it's not easy, I am having a hard time myself too. I just think of how hard I have worked to get where I am. I wish you the best!!
  22. Hey Everyone! I am 6 months post op and have lost over 80 pounds. The last month I seem to have stopped. :cursing: I still have about 60 pounds to loose, and I'm not sure what's up? I have heard that everyone hits plateaus, just wondering what you guys have done to get out of them? Thanks!
  23. You're healing, just had surgery. Give it time.
