port discomfort
I have always had tenderness in my port area and was told that this is common and it can last up to a year or more. Certain things I do irritate it, like getting a fill because they have to mess with it and hold it/find it. Also things that involve stretching my abdomen bother it. Remember it is sutured to your abdominal wall and is a firiegn object in your body, I think it is only natural untill you heal completely and your body is useto the strain of it being there.

My BMI is now 34

~*~Have you ever lied about your weight?~*~
I am a pretty open person and I will talk about it to most people. Now that I am banded I can share my weight with my hubby, where before I did the best I could to avoid that discussion or I did lie by a few pounds to him. He can be such a jerk about that. He has been bugging me and asking if I had hit a 20 lb loss even at only 2 months post op. It has taken almost 4 months but I am finally there and he was very sweet when I told him that I finally hit the 20lbs lost mark. I really don't mind talking about it now, but there are certain people that I won't talk numbers with, LOL.

Gone for Good Club - July 2006
I reported on Wednesday that I haddn't changed, but that day I cut down my carbs and sodium intake and I dropped down to 186 on thursday. I was estatic. I haven't seen that number in a while  I can't wait until I can see the loss in myself. 20lbs is a lot in my book, but I still don't actually see it. I know that my clothes are fitting differently, but a visual for me is not there yet.

Trampoline
I just bought a 14 foot trampoline for my daughter, well she bought it with her communion money. I was wondering what everyone's take is on bouncing for 30-40 minutes a day. My daughter bounced for 5 minutes and was winded, lol. I use to bounce on the trampoline at her gymnastics school and thought it was great cardio. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

What is Wrong With Me?
Also sounds like your vitamins and electrolytes could be off. Depending on what you are eating, you might not be getting enough of something and your body can't handle it being so low. Definately get the blood work and maybe take a multivitamin if you don't already take one until you know for sure. A miltivitamin is never a bad thing. Good luck and keep us posted. Hugs!

Gone for Good Club - July 2006
I have not lost anything. I am still at 189, but I haven't gained either. I have cut down on the carbs and have started going back to the gym this week. I feel good about next week. I am hoping that my changes will show on the scale and in my clothing.

How many of us have NOT had major problems with the band?
I have noticed that, but then again those people are not me :grouphug: I am almost 4 months out and I have had no problems. I am still trying to find my "sweet spot" But I have had no problems and I have advanced through my band a little faster than some. I was on mushies straight out of the hospital, I don't have to do more that 3/4 of a day of liquids after a fill then back to regular foods, carefully. I wish I was losing a little faster but most of that is my own fault. I say, if it is working for you then keep up with the good work and enjoy your tool.

It is nice to meet everyone

Home from vacation
I know, I didn't even say I was going, but my hubby, kids and I went camping last week and it rained for half of our vacation. I did ok with eating, I didn't even eat a smore, not that I had much opportunity because of the rain. I weighed myself late in the morning after we got home and the scale said 188! Thats great but it didn't stay there :phanvan . I hate the fluctation game. I need a third fill, but I do have a little restriction it just isn't good enough yet. Other than the rain our vacation was very fun.

Gone for Good Club - June 2006
I would like to join the club, but I will wait for next month's challenge. my highest weight I think was 206 weight on date of surgery was 205 my current wt and wt on day that I joined is 189 and my goal weight is 120 I am 5"2' , 30 yrs old and all my weight is from my stomach to my knees, lol. I am pear shapped and have HUGE hips that I can't wait to be gone for good! It puts me so out of proportion that if you ask me what size I am, I couldn't tell you. I am a wife of 14 yrs and a mom of 3. 2 boys 14 and 11 and a daughter almost 8. I weighed 98 lbs when I got pg for son #1 and gained 65 lbs as the stupid nurses and MD just shook their heads instead of giving me suggestions on how to avoid excessive wt gain. I lost some of the weight then gained a ton of it back. I did good with weight gain during my last 2 pregnancies but in between is where I gained all the weight. I love food and I have poor control. I have lost 17 lbs and I have 69 more to go. I can't wait to join the next challenge. Thanks for all of the support that I have already gotten!

Road to onderland challenge May 21-June 21
On 6-21-06 our finish date I was 189. I did reach one of my goals, but I did not hit my other mini goal which was to hit the 20 lb loss mark. Next moths goal will be to hit the 20 lb mark. That will put me at 186. Everyone did such a great job. You are all an inspiration to me. When ever I feel like I am not doing well I come on here and I read the great posts and I feel a little better. Thanks everyone for the awesome support!

What did you wear on surgery day?
I bought an awesome Tinkerbell pj set that the pants were a little big on me. The shirt was comfortable but because of the swelling it was a little snugger than I though, LOL. I wore elastic waist pants and a hoodie home and I did wear my bra which I bought brand new, LOL. As soon as I got home I got back into my pj's

My surgeon is a newbie
I was the first person banded by my doctor. I had every confidence in him. Remember that doctors being trained have to assist on many before they do one themselves. Also, Inamed usually has representitives with the surgeon the first few times that they do it to make sure that everything goes smoothly. It is natural to be nervous, but don't totally discount the guy because he hasn't done thousands. If he is a sergeon then he knows how the body works and is more than capable of doing more than one type of surgery. He has decieded to broaden his knowledge and that is great for you. Good luck!

Road to onderland challenge May 21-June 21
Carol, it isn't a contest. Just something to push yourself to hit the onderland mark. If you haven't hit it yet then please don't drop out. Its great to have you here :biggrin1: . Liz, I feel your pain. Aunt Flo is on her way, but I have been lucky this time, so far anyway. I hope you find the right amount of calories for you. I am sorry that I can't be of more help. I am just plugging along myself as it is. On a happy note for me! I have hit my goal for this month :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Here is the picture to prove it :biggrin1:
