Don't know what to title this
I feel for you. My first husband was very insecure. His insecurity caused him to lash out at me about everything. If it takes all the strength you have to get through this, don't let it keep you from getting what you deserve. I was in college when we got married. He never went to college. Every day he tried to convince me to quit school. It was hard, but I stuck to my guns and graduated from college. He would not even attend my graduation.

4000 calories with the Lap Band?
You could get completely un-filled after you lose your desired weight and you want to start training. Un-filled you should be able to eat anything.

What was YOUR last straw?
At my last yearly check-up, My doctor said my blood pressure was high and I need to keep track of it for at least two weeks. I thought now this is it! My mother was diagnosed with High Blood Preasure and my Father with Diabetes in their 60's. I am going to get both in my 40's, and I will be dead by my 60's like my Father's parents and siblings! That was the last straw that made me call and schedule my surgery. When I went back to my Doctor for Pre-op testing I had been on the pre-op diet and lost 6 pounds. She said your Blood Pressure is fine. That was my sign that I was finally on the right track!

What Kind of Music Do You Love? I'm a R&B Hip Hop gal myself
I have these songs playing in my head sometimes. I think it is a lot better to be playing in my head then the songs I sometimes can't get out of my mind from "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". As I posted earlier...I love musicals!

Personal question for Women only..XXXXX
I looked up that Paget's Disease. That is some nasty stuff! I definately have the Montgomery's Tubercles and not the Paget's Disease! I have a yearly Mammogram because I have some calcification in my right Boob. They check it to see if it grows... not in the last 3 years. It is in the exact spot I use to have very sharp piercing pains. They stopped when I got off the caffene.

Personal question for Women only..XXXXX
What are the little pimple-like bumps that have become more noticeable around my areola? Do they have a special purpose? Soon after a woman finds out that she is pregnant, she will begin to notice some dramatic changes in her breasts. The glands of Montgomery, or Montgomery's tubercles, are the tiny "bumps" that are scattered around the areola (the darker area which rings the nipple). During pregnancy these glands enlarge and they remain enlarged while breastfeeding. They can vary greatly in number, averaging between 4 and 28 per areola. Montgomery originally described these glands as "a constellation of miniature nipples scattered over a milky way." It is believed that these sebaceous, or oil-producing glands, secrete a lubricating and protective substance, altering the skin's pH and discouraging bacterial growth (Williams 1992). These glands also secrete a small amount of milk (Lawrence 1995). This lubrications helps to keep the skin healthy and the areola elastic. To preserve the antibacterial function of Montgomery's tubercles, rinsing with clear Water while bathing is sufficient. Use of soap on the breasts is unnecessary and may remove these protective oils. My best wishes in mothering! //");document.write("");0//]]>// 6) { cs_cloneArray(zSr, zSrCTA);}//]]>//");//]]>// 6) { while (i < zSr.length) { iv_masterCTAData[iv_CTACounter++] = new Array(zSr[i++], zSr[i++], zSr[i++], zSr[i++], zSr[i++], zSr[i++]); }}//]]>iv_drawCTA2();

New Guy wants his Red Meat
I cooked some T-Bones on the grill one day. They looked so good I decided to have some. I used my Pampered Chef Chopper and pulverized the beast. I was able to eat it with no problem. I haven't had steak since then because I haven't wanted it. I grilled burgers one day and did the same thing...pulverized then ate some. I really haven't missed it as much as I thought...since I was previously a red meat carnivor.

Anyone Able To Stop Cholestrol Meds After Banding?
I will ask my doctor! At the very least switch to that generic one. My Pravachol is not on my insurance preferred list, so it costs me more.

What Kind of Music Do You Love? I'm a R&B Hip Hop gal myself
I usually prefer the sounds of silience; however, I love QUEEN and Bohemian Rhapsody is my all time favorite song. Almost forgot.. I like Annie Lennox also. I know it sounds weird and old folky.. but I love Musicals! Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Man of La Mancha, Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, etc.. I want to see them live, not on TV, or listen to them on an IPOD!

pb with chicken anyone!
If you don't already have one, get you a Pampered Chef food chopper. I use it every time I get ready to eat chicken, or any other potential dry meat. I whack it several times with the chopper, then I don't have to chew on it all day to get it down. I even do it to my Lean Cuisine Meals. I promise it doesn't taste any different. When I make Tuna, I whack it, the boiled egg, and the onion I put in my Tuna salad. I love it with Miracle Whip Light.

Anyone Able To Stop Cholestrol Meds After Banding?
I am on Pravachol for high cholestrol. I was wondering if anyone has been able to go off cholestrol meds after being banded. I no longer eat the fried fatty foods anymore, so maybe mine is normal without the drugs.

Unethical bandsters?
I had Lasik surgery in 1999. I only knew of one other person who had it done. It was a medical miracle for me. It is less expensive, more common and very much advertised now. I feel the same way about Lapband. I didn't know anyone who had a Lapband before I got mine. My best friend, my daughter, and several other people I know have now had this procedure. I also believe it to be a medical miracle and it should be advertised and available to everyone who needs or wants it.

My Dr. Say's NO MILK EVER......

I wouldn't get in the pool for 6 Weeks. My Daughter was Banded a month ago. The doctor said she can now lift weight up to 25 pounds, then unlimited after 6 weeks.

Unethical bandsters?
When I was waiting to be wheeled into the operating room, my prep nurse asked me why I was having the surgery that I wasn't big enough to have it. (Judgement...This is exactly why I was not telling people I was having the surgery.!) I told her that I have Osteo-Arthritis and the Orthopedic Doctor told me for every pound I was overweight my knees felt it times seven. She just said OH!
