Dr. Carter did my banding on 5/13/08 and he was wonderful... I actually was scared to death right before the surgery and he came over rubbed my cheek and calmed me down. I am finding myself right now able to eat without restriction which concerns me. But I work in insurance and understand that you have a 90 day post op period that your insurance will not pay for the fill also. That is also one reason he does not do it until the 91 day. He would end of having to write off the balance. Any suggestions for how to curb my hunger?

Hi all... I am kinda new to the LapBand... I just started a new job and I now have United Healthcare... Hoping they will be easier to get approval for the band. I have given up on my other insurance which is Tricare Standard. I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area...closer to Arlington... Anyone know of a good surgeon in this area that gets United Healthcare approved. Thanks all Gretta

I just read that Champus VA is paying for the lab band. This is a Champus program for dependents for military members that died during military service. Chapter 2 Section 29.15 Heres the link to it http://www.va.gov/hac/forbeneficiaries/champva/policymanual/trans89.pdf
