  1. Welcome home and great job! Wishing you smooth sailing and excellent results! Thank you for updating! ❤️
  2. Hi, and welcome! I think you are the first person on here who might possibly have surgery after me.? I'm hoping for for june 8th or thereabout. Good luck! This is a great group of people.
  3. No date here …hoping for the 9th as the earliest I can go with school. I’m on day 2 of liver shrinking. MEH. Not crazy about it, but I can see it’s about new routines and habits. Wishing everyone a great day!
  4. You’ve got this! I’m 67, 40 BMI, high blood pressure, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol…I’m sure I’ve forgotten something. ??‍♀️ I would love to lose 100 lbs and that is my goal. I didn’t think of this sooner, because I considered bariatric surgery something that 700 lb people did…not 220 lb people. ??‍♀️ Who knew? I’m hoping for a surgery date of June 9th or after…I’ll be out of school by then. I see my surgeon for my results visit in 2 weeks. I had a lot of pre-procedure testing. My insurance company should have made a decision by that visit and I can get a surgery date. Today I started the liver shrinking diet per doctors orders. He wants me on it for 2 weeks when I see him so he can gauge my progress. I survived today with only one moment when I thought I would cave. It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and there is food everywhere…but I did fine. Shakes, Greek yogurt, lettuce salad with broiled chicken for dinner. I’ve almost had my 64 Oz of water and I’m under 750 calories. I do well with structure so following these eating plans is good for me. Good luck to you and welcome!
  5. I looked it up when someone here mentioned it a few weeks ago. Cigna won’t cover it.
  6. I’ve read about that procedure and people who have had it write that they are pleased with it. I’m jealous! You got the new and improved surgery! Please keep posting. I enjoy reading your stuff. ?
  7. That will be here before you know it! ?
  8. Good luck! I’ll be thinking of you. Update when you can! You got this! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
  9. Thinking of you! You will do great! I’ll be looking for your update! ?❤️❤️❤️❤️?
  10. My Results visit from pre-procedure testing is 2 weeks from today, 5/16. My doctor said to start the LSD (liver shrinking diet) tomorrow. I’m hoping for a 6/10 or 6/13 surgery date. I’m SO ready for this! ETA: I just went into my Cigna patient account and they have received my paperwork for the Endoscopy approval and the Gastric Bypass surgery approval. They have a ‘service’ date of 5/20 which the doctor’s admin told me she was putting on the paperwork even though I am going to wait till school is out which is more like 6/9-6/13.
  11. Have you tried playing with the temperature and humidity settings? Once I got my air a little cooler and increased the humidity so my mouth wouldn't dry out I found mine much more tolerable! And the decrease in stroke and heart attack risk from wearing it is a big selling point for me. At this point I've been wearing it every night for 2+ years and I get a sore throat if I sleep without it. Idk what I'll do if I lose a bunch of weight and no longer qualify for it. It's comforting. I hope you find a way for it to work for you, I know they always ask at every appointment whether I'm wearing it every night. CPAP: haven’t tried playing with anything yet. I’m just making sure I don’t get wrapped up in tubing. ?? My scores are getting better, and I’m going to try it tonight for the whole night. I’ll see how it goes.
  12. Very excited for you!!!❤️❤️❤️
  13. Thinking of you! I’m so excited for you! ?????????????
  14. LOL! Monday, Tuesday…?…whatever! Don’t question the ‘not scared’ part…just enjoy it! I agree with you about feeling excitement at taking back your life. It’s only the past 10 years that my weight became an issue. I was underweight most of my life…I was a long distance runner. Then fertility drugs, thyroid issues, etc., etc., and ⚡️100 lbs overweight. I can’t wait to get my life back. A close friend of mine had the sleeve in October. She’s down 90 lbs and says she has never felt better. And she looks amazing! I’m so ready! No surgery date yet, but 5/16 I have a visit with the surgeon and we should be able to set a date at that appointment. I’m hoping for 6/13 or after because school is out by then. Good luck to you on Tuesday! ?
  15. I think your reaction is perfectly appropriate. Good thoughts coming your way, and I’ll be looking for your update. ❤️
  16. Congrats and I’m very excited for your big day tomorrow! I think that everyone reacts differently and possibly with many different emotions. I don’t anticipate being nervous but rather excited…but, who knows! ??‍♀️ Wishing you the best and I’m looking forward to your update! ❤️
  17. Best wishes and good luck to all the May surgeries going this week!!!!! Don’t forget to update! Sending healing wishes to everyone!❤️
  18. I finally used the CPAP for the first time after getting it last week. It was very simple to set up. I didn’t love it. ??‍♀️ One if the dogs stared at me for a very long time when I put on the mask. DH was already asleep when I got the thing hooked up, but he mentioned that he he didn’t hear me snoring the way he typically does. I wore it while playing candy crush before I went to sleep and removed it after 4 hours and some minutes.
  19. Congratulations on the surgery! ? I’ve been following you since I got on this site about a month ago. Please keep posting. Sending get well wishes! ❤️
  20. Congratulations! You persevered! Good luck on the pre-op diet. Please keep us posted.
  21. Good luck! Please update on how you are doing. ❤️
  22. So funny! My husband actually asked me this last week. I hadn’t thought about it until he asked, but it’s a legitimately relevant question.
  23. Best of luck! ❤️
  24. i have been doing the nesting/cleaning thing too. i think it's a typical thing to do...it will be a new you coming home from the hospital. good luck and keep us updated.
  25. Congrats on your 5/2 date. I'll be here at my desk -- I'll say a prayer for you for uneventful, successful surgery, and a quick recovery.?
