  1. I would love to attend in NYC. I think the problem with NJ is you can't go anywhere without a car in NJ. In NYC you can walk around or take public transportation. NJ can be really hard to navigate.
  2. I was banded July 30, 2008. In the past, week I am having serious problems with vomiting all of a sudden. I can no longer eat any solid food without vomiting. I still have pain with liquid but for the most part I am able to hold it down. I am going in to see the Nurse Practitioner tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice? I had been able to eat pretty regularly. I was still losing weight at a reasonable pace. I am subsisting on Optifast at the moment, but I even had horrible chest pain from that tonight. I am frightened. I was finally feeling totally okay so this is not exactly enjoyable. Anyone else had this experience and it was something other than lap band slippage?? Thank you, April

I had my lap band surgery on July 30, 2008. These pictures are not taken as frequently as I would like, but this has been my journey
  4. I have a large ventral hernia. I had the lap band surgery. They wanted me to wait to have the hernia fixed. I am going to have the hernia repaired once I lose more weight. The doctors felt like they could fix my hernia and do a tummy tuck later. I think it depends on the size of the hernia.
  5. Congrats! it is wonderful that you are doing so well. I am really glad the gas pain has gone away. It is the worst! Keep hanging in there!!
  6. Yes, I was on clear liquids for a week. I had chicken broth and apple juice mostly. The mini mighty popsicles are really great though! I am glad you are feeling a little better. It really does get easier.
  7. I am only 11 days post-op and I totally felt that way the day after. I actually felt that way for the first four days. I think suddenly realized I wasn't in terrible pain but just annoying pain. The gas pain was horrible. The incision pain was tough and my back hurt. I couldn't stand up straight. I felt alot like the hunchback of the hospital. I am already felt a million times better. It does not take long to feel better. Hang in there! I hope the pain gets better soon.
  8. I'm 10 tens post-op. I swear each day I feel better. So I hope you feel better soon. I have had the GNC Whey no-flavor protein. It was not terrible. I also have sent away for UNjury protein which I have been told is really good. They sell sample packs so you can see what you think.
  9. I had my banding on July 30. I think this is going pretty well. It took forever to get rid of the gas though. Who knew gas could cause that much trouble? How are you feeling??
  10. Hi. I am new to the forum. I am scheduled to have my lap band surgery next week, Wednesday July 30th. I am excited and a bit scared. I am having the surgery at Magee.
