  2. ai was banded on Nov 10, 2008 and have only lost 8 lbs since surgery. I saw my Dr this am and he scheduled me for my first fill March 19. I too feel like I have no restriction. Dr tells me I have to move & exercise more!!
  3. I am so sorry for your loss. My Hunter, a sheltie passed away suddenly Dec 12 2007. I just kept thinking he was such a great dog that Jesus wanted him up in heaven with Him. Just picture you dog playing with the King!! That gave me some comfort. We just bought a little Silky Terrier last night. It took me a year to be ready for another dog. My thoughts & paryers are with you & your family.:tongue2:
  4. I was 248 morning of surgery 11-10 and when I got home on 11-11 I was 255. Today I am 243. Just stick with what your Dr / nutritionalist says and you'll be fine. Some times I do get hungry, I'm not sure , it might just be head hunger, But have some yogert or cottage cheese, something with protein.
  5. I was banded on 11-10-08 and was on clear liquids for one week, full liquids for weeks 2-3-4, and start mushies on week 5. so far I'm doing great, If I get hungry between meals, I have some broth.
  6. :thumbup:I was banded on Nov 10 and was on clear liquids for 1 week , now on full liquids and start mushies on Dec 3. My Dr wont give a fill for six weeks after being banded. And then they see how you are doing, if you neeed a fill. I feel great, not hungry, I think its head hunger when I do feel something. Then I drink water.

  9. My surgery was 11-10-08. I feel great, back to work yesterday, just my insissions a little tender. I'm on full liquids till Dec 2. No hunger, I take small meals every 2-3 hours, 1/4 cup broth or 4 oz protein drink, ice pop, etc. I've lost 10 lbs since surgery over.
  10. I was banded on 11-10-08 and am also doing great, I also walked when ever I could. i'm back to work this week and other then my insissions being a little sore , I feel great. I'm just starting on creamy soups and cream of wheat, no hunger at all. Good luck to all !!
  11. Hi Froggi, You can update my log entry, surgey date wt 248. thanks, nancy
  12. floridachica, I actually called Aetna and spoke to someone and asked them if the band was covered. It is if your employer choses to include it.
  13. I have aetna HMO. You really dont want to lose too much weight in the begining, that is why you want the band is because it is soo hard for you to lose weight. I started in June 08.I stayed the same weight for 2-3 months and then lost 5 lbs. Now on the pre surgical diet, I am down 10 lbs. You just dont want your BMI going below 40. until you get approval. The Girls in my Drs office know how to work with the insurence companys , so they will tell you what you need. Don't stress out.
  14. LCUBED, I'm having my surgery with Dr Nick Gabriel in St Catherines' in Smithtown. I think I'm the only one not with Dr Geiss.
  15. Hi, I also have Aetna and I had to go through the same thing. % long months of Dr visits and still wondering if aetna will approve the banding. Well just be patient, they approved mine, I only had sleep apnea, but I have 115 pounds to lose. So if you really want this , it is well worth the wait. I get banded Monday, 11/10/08. Best of luck to you & stick with it!!!
