Hello, I’m having surgery with Dr Minkin in St. Louis on November 11. I’m ready for everything physical that comes with surgery but I’m still mentally working through food addiction issues with a therapist. I’m so excited for the future athletic/sport benefits to be had!

    Best of luck to everyone!

So I went for my pre op clearance with the primary. My bp was 180/90! It’s never that high. I’ve been borderline HBP for a while but it’s usually 130/80-140/80. So now he put me on a medication and I have to go back tomorrow to check it again. If it isn’t in the normal range I won’t get cleared for surgery. ?

I noticed today that I actually weigh 5 lbs. less than the wild lie that has been listed on my driver's license for the past 25 years! ?? I guess it qualifies as a NSV.

Hey Angel. I live in the Upstate as well and although I'm not using Prisma Bariatric, I have heard really great things about them. I hope it works out for you. and it's great to see someone who lives close to me that is going through the same process as me.

The RNY Gastric Bypass would be more suitable for you. It usually resolves GERD, whereas the Sleeve does not. Sleeves are sometimes revised to RNY because of GERD after the original WLS.

RNY does usually result in greater weight loss than VGS, and it usually resolves GERD and Type II Diabetes. These benefits should not be overlooked.
