if you take a laptop or have access to a computer while you are gone you can check with your humana website it will take you to your page that shows if you approved but yu will be. or just keep calling them you will get a different person so who is to know you have called serveral times good luck and it is a peice of cake.:redface::w00t::smile2::w00t::w00t:

I lost 18lbs and I have had 3 fills. My 3rd fill just did not seem right and I should have went back to the dr but we went on a cross country vacation and I threw up everytime I ate so all accross country and 3 weeks there and back I lost 6lbs(that is with the 18). Some days I have restriction some days I have no restriction.I have not lost a pound in year. My main bad habit is I loooove cheetos and popcorn:w00t::w00t:. Also most of the time when I throw up I just go and eat something else. I know it is in my head and that I need to go back to the shrink. I have an appt with my surgeon next monday the 19th, will let you know what happens. go with your plan for the lap band I do really think you should do it>:smile2:

very glad I got my band. my dr would not agree to let me have the bypass.I was a little afraid of that one myself. have always wanted the lap band. now I just need to get my head around it:) but you should have no problems with tricare. also there are more success stories than not.:w00t:

I think you are getting ripped off also. I have TRI PRIME my husband is retired AIR FORCE. I had to pay $350. for something I forget what for, but my nutritionst met with me in my surgeons office @ $12 copay. my pcyh (don't know how to spell it:) I had to pay $100 up front but he summited to ins and I got it all back. My fills are done with the xray at $250. a pop and I pay $12 copay for that. So check out some more places. good luck

Hi Heidi, I have tri prime and I am diabetic high blood pressure, I don't think you will have any problems with approval from your standard. I also agree that the TRICARE INS is the best I have ever had. I am glad I got the surgery but I have been a very bad patient. I have not lost alot of weight but it is truley all my fault cause I have self esteem issues that I need to work on. Some days I am good about what I eat some days not so good. I am addicted to popcorn and cheese puffs:cursing::w00t::cursing::wink2: lol. So good luck and let me know how you do. I live in SC my husband is also 100% VA disabled. He is retired from AIR FORCE.

I am in the same fix as you had my surgery Aug 08 have lost 19lbs and nothing more. but I find that I only want to eat cheetos and popcorn. I know it is my own fault, I am like you I eat half of what I use to eat and still am not loosing. I gag when I have to drink the protein shakes but looks like I really need to buck up and do right. good luck to you.

I also had that problem with my second fill, I slowed down and chewed chewed chewed and had better luck also did not drink any liquid 30 min before and after. and when i did throw up I would wait about 30 or 45 min and tried again and had better luck. I am bad about shoveling in the food so it is a real job for me to eat reallllllllllllllll slow. good luck:thumbup:

I also had breast cancer and as of Mar 09 I will be cancer free for 1 year, I had fantastic nausea meds, my food tasted like cardboard that was a struggle to eat I gained and lost the same 4 lbs through 16 chemo treatments. Just remember that GOD will be with you and that prayers do work, keep your chin up and never loose hope. I will pray for you good luck.

I had my band done 8/21/08, had my second fill last month I have only lost 19 lbs and was getting upset but the dr said I was losing slow and that was a good thing, I see him tomorrow so hopefully I have lost more I don't even check my scales anymore. good luck

I had my lap band AUG 21,2008 I started at 229, lost 5lbs before surgery and have had 2 fills. I am about to throw my scales out. When I got my last fill in Jan it seems to be really tight but the scales are still at 215lbs. I gone from a 22 jeans to an 18, I have an appt on Feb the 16th. I think the only thing I have not PB'd is popcorn,Soup,cottage cheese. Hope you have better luck.:crying:

you will find alot of us have had or still have diabetes, myself I have a higher reading for my diabetes only if I eat something I am not suppose to eat like ice cream . as for the pain I got by with just regular tylenol and I am a big baby when it comes to pain. easiet surgery I have ever had and well worth it. good luck and GOD BLESS.

good luck on your surgery. it is a walk in the park. when I woke up I wanted to ask them if they really did anything, I had liquid pain meds but only needed couple of tylenol. also when they say don't eat and drink at the same time believe them lololol any way good luck and god bless

I had my surgery on 8/21/08 and I have only lost 10lbs. also when I get hungry in between meals I drink 4oz of a protein shake.

I had my surgery on 8/21/08. I have had hunger pains and also have eaten 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and some chicken. I thought was going to be sent to prison for life for the cheating, I have appt with dr on sept 8th and promised myself to do better today. hope you all the luck.

Don't remember if I posted or not but had my surgery thurs the 21st at 8:45 left the surgery center at 11:30 slept a while in the hotel wanted to go home (60)miles away next day went to dr everything was great, walked on treadmill that night and except for mild pain and gas I am doing "FANTASTIC":lol::biggrin:

just wanted to say I had my surgery yesterday and everything went just great alittle sore today but so far so good.:sad:

My husband is all excited about the meatloaf recipe. he is so easy to cook for, spagetti, cheeseburgers, hotdogs. meatloaf he is happy.

I use Tyson in the can or Swanson brand in the can

Ok GEORGIA girl tell me about the meatloaf. My husband loves meatloaf.

I am suppose to be on a 5 day liquid diet and this is the 4th day. I have done good today but the first second and 3rd hmmmmm. I had some (4) boiled chicken wings the second day, a hamburger the 3rd, the first a small peice of steak with some mashed potatoes. Hope I am not doomed. My surgery is Thurs morning.:thumbup::confused2::confused2:
