    Feeling weak

Careful with walking too much. I was sleeved on 5/20 and 5 days out took a long walk with my husband, bad idea. I ended up causing muscle spasms in my stomach according to my surgeon when I had so much incision pain I called him. Be easy on your body for a bit. 😁
  2. I had a similar experience, but I was uncomfortable the whole decade I had my band...I had it out in June and I am having a sleeve done this spring.

  5. I feel your pain....when they took my band out, after 10 years of throwing up I may add, I gained all the weight back in the months I was healing waiting for a sleeve surgery....so here I go down the road again hoping the sleeve will get me back to where I was. Not much help....just comiserating. 😏

    Last weigh in

Same thing happened to me when I quit smoking pre-op.....I used a 0 nicotine vape to keep my hands and mouth occupied with something other than cigarettes and food.....you can do this!! PS....I lost my 10 pounds in 10 days....lots of walking....lots of water and lots of lean protein. 😁
  8. I too am curious about the changing restriction. I have been too tight since my first fill (odd I know), but some days I can eat some things and somedays I can't eat the same thing I did the day before. It is very frustrating and I am afraid I will hurt my band with all this PBing. I have an appointment to see my surgeon, but not till September 2. Any advice would be appreciated. =)

    ??? on fill. 2nd one.

I can not feel the sensation you are talking about, but my husband can. He says you feel it go down then shwoosh through the stoma and coats the "big" stomach. He did not have any problems progressing to foods after a fill, but when he did get stuck, he could feel the release in the same way going down as the liquids. Hope that helps.
  10. Hmmm. . . I think this is just the post I was looking for. I am also in a situation where solid foods are not staying down. =( I had my first fill on July 31 and I did well on my 2 days of liquids then to mushies. Since then every time I try to progress to something solid. . . even the tiniest of bites. . . I PB. I am afraid I will hurt my band PBing all the time, but when I called the doc last week they said wait a bit longer. Am I too tight? With this being my first fill (2cc in a 10cc band) I have nothing to judge it by. My husband is also banded and has not had this problem, and his idea of support is to make fun of me when I PB. Any suggestions?

    post op meds?

I didn't take any of my pain meds. My doc requires a multivitimin until I was on mushies. (2 weeks) and 20 mg Pepcid twice a day for 2 months so I don't form an Ulcer. Thats it for me.
  14. Ahhhhh the misses department. . . . the stuff dreams are made of. . . . hopefully someday soon I will be there again.

    Nauseated HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby was banded on May 11 and was having weird waves of nausea too. He realized that is the signal is is hungry, because if he had some soup (strained of course) it went away. He also found that too much milk (including that in his shakes) gave him a bloated miserable feeling. So it is a fine line. Good Luck. . . . 2 more weeks till I join your club.

    need to shrink liver.....help

I start my pre-op (liver shrinking) diet on monday. 1/2 cup cream of wheat for breakfast, a 1/2 cup yogurt for lunch, and 1/2 cup of creamy Soup for dinner. I also get to have 8 oz of Protein shake and milk over the course of the day. My husband just got banded on Monday and did this 2 weeks of pre-op dieting as well. He lost 10 pounds or so. That is what our surgeon expects. I wish you luck with your liver shrinkage.

  21. Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast has fiber added to it now. You may find if you take supliments it is too much. I find the Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast gives me a tummy ache (gas pains I belive) from the fiber. Sorry if that was TMI, but I thought I would warn you. :yikes:

    I'm back and feeling better!

I don't like the cold either sometimes. It was -27 here in Enfield, NH this AM. what Bariatric Program did you go through? I am seeing Dr. Gould at DHMC Manchester. :yikes:
  23. I am not positive about this, becasue I haven't had my consult yet, but from what I gathered from the informational sessions my surgeon does not have another surgeon rather one or two P.A.s with him.

    Smoking!!!

My husband and I quit 3.5 years ago. It was hard. Hubby used a Nicitrol Inhailer. I went cold turkey just puffin on his inhailer if I was desperate. After 2 or 3 weeks the worst was over. We learned during several failed attempts that weining yourself off doesn't work. It is all or nothing. We chose nothing.
  25. I am not sure how my family feels about it. My sister, who is about the same size I am now, doesn't talk about it, and if I mention it she changes the subject. My mother has not said anything, but a couple of times she has asked about "how it works" and "why I need it." My Dad just jokes. My husband is being banded too and has told his immediate family with a bit better responce than I have gotten. I am not telling co-workers or friends. I figure someday if anyone asks why I am shrinking I will just tell them I am eating better. . . which won't really be a lie. . . just not the whole truth.
