  1. Hello Jack, Do you really think that if I cut out sugar completely, that the urge for something sweet will go away again? I was doing so good until now. I want things to go back the way they were. After my surgery in June, I did not crave anything sweet or fried, it could be right in front of me and I would easily pass it by. That is not the case now and has not been for the past month. I am getting so upset with myself for letting this happen. Thank you for your advise. Kathy
  2. I am out of control when it comes to snacking! I am making very good choices when it comes to breakfast/lunch/dinner. It all started when my sugar dropped one day (i am diabetic) and all I had at work to bring up my sugar was Reesie's Pieces. That was the first bite of sugar or anything sweet since the surgery (4 months). Now I am hooked and I crave candy every morning and since we have big bags candy (to put in candy jars for clients when touring our facility) It is right at my finger tips and I give in. Can anyone give me any advise on how to get control before it is too late?? Kathy
  3. I will have my first fill tomorrow!!! I am so excited! For some reason I am not scared. I just want that feeling of not being able to eat much and not having an appetite again. Wish me luck!!
  4. Congratulations! I am so proud of you. I hav been banded for 4 weeks and I have lost 20 lbs. You are an inspiration!
  5. I also had to pay out of pocket, so I chose to go to Mexico. I used Dr. Alverez, I found him through the internet www.endobariatric.com. My cost was $6,999, that included everything but airfare. Everything went perfectly! The Dr. and staff were wonderful, I do not regret it at all. The hospital was very outdated, but very clean. The hospital was located less than a mile across the border and I did not need a passport only my birth cirtificate and photo ID. Hope this helps! Kathy
  6. :redface:Hello fellow banders, My name is Kathy and I am a single mother of two wonderful daughters. I have been overweight since my youngest daughter was born 14 years ago. I have constantly been on some kinda diet and I am so tired of it, so I decided to go to Mexico to get banded (it was less expensive there than in the states and my insurance would not cover it.) I have had my band since June 10, 2008. I quickly lost 17 lbs, but I have not lost a single pound in the past 2 weeks, actually I have gained 2 lbs since I have started soft foods. My first fill is not scheduled until July 19th and I am so afraid that I am gonna gain some of the weight back because I have started eating more and I don't have as much restriction as in the beginning and I am finding it difficult not to snack between meals. If there is anyone out there that has had the band and has lost the weight, please let me know if it is normal for me not to have lost anymore weight and please tell me that I will start losing soon.
