I was also banded two months ago. I am doing about the same as you. I got a fill two weeks ago and have gained a pound. I am definitely hungry.
  2. I haven't seen any messages on the blog from you. How are you doing since your fill? I haven't lost a pound and am getting discouraged. I'm also very hungry at meal time and eating more than a cup and a half. I know there is no use calling Dr. Choban's office as Kathleen would just say "wait until your appointment".
  3. Greg, I had my fill this week as well, and the girl who did it is not a doctor. She is a nurse and had to do multiple tries on me too. She also did not have my band size correct on her chart. ?????? Guess you have to keep a close eye on them to keep things right.
  4. Lyn, I used your directions and got my ticker tape going, but now I don't know how to get it to NE 1 been banded. I'm not very good at cut and paste. I enjoy reading all the information you and the others put on here. I'm going for my first fill tomorrow and am excited. My weight loss has been very slow, and I find I am hungry before the next meal. You are doing great -- keep up the good work.
  5. Hi! I'm having my first fill on the 5th. Kind of apprehensive as I don't know what to expect. I'm hungry as well. Sugar free fudge bars were suggested by my nutritionist and popcicles. Both help with the sweet attacks. I'm getting pretty sick of cottage cheese. It is always such an easy thing to grab. I hope to get motivated to walk more pretty soon. My knees hurt so I always think I don't want to go for a very long walk. Your 4 miles is impressive:smile2: I appreciate hearing from you and your updates. I don't have many supportive people -- of course that is my fault as I haven't told very many people that I had the surgery. Keep in contact. Sally
  6. Hi CamJay, I haven't been on the computer for a couple of weeks. I am wondering how things are going for you on the pureed phase. I'm eating lots of tuna (yek) and Windy's chili. I find it difficult to find high protein soft yet solid food that I like. I haven't lost as quickly as I thought I would, but at least I'm not gaining:rolleyes2: I'm definitely glad I had it done.
  7. You must be eating pureed foods by now. What are you pureeing? No one has given me any ideas yet.
  8. Sounds like you are doing great redheather. I was banded 6/25 and can't wait to see something?
  9. Good to read all of the messages. I didn't even like Kathleen's attitude. She always calls me sweetie and talks over me all the time I am trying to tell her what I need. They certainly need to clean out that office, and the sad part is that many people tell them (the docs)about the problems. What part of it don't they understand. As some one else said the office staff certainly has give Mid Ohio Surgical a black mark. Anyway I'm doing better today and hope soon to be back to normal!
  10. Thanks for the reply Camjay. The support on here is wonderful. I know how you feel about slimfast. I was thinking today that I can't wait to just spend a half hour tasting one little french fry. I truly am going to try to go very healthy though and eat the good veggies!
  11. Hi Camjay, I too was banded on the 25th and had a rough time. I'm 67 and also had hernia repair. I have been grumpy with my family as well as they didn't seem very concerned about how I felt. We are on our way though so good luck to all of us who have decided to spend this great amount of money on our health!
  12. Debbie, Just read your post. I had my band done this week at Mt. Carmel in spite of Charlene. It took me six months, they also lost my paperwork many times. I don't know why they (the doctors) put up with such a staff. They have been so rude to me, and I'm a very kind person. I thought Dr. Choban was fantastic, but I certainly hope the hospital sends me an evaluation. They certainly didn't meet my expectations. I'm still glad I had the surgery though. Good luck to you.

I thought the banding was much worse than I had anticipated for the first three days, but I am feeling much better today. I also had hernia repair and assume that adds additional stress on the body. I am really looking forward to being lighter on my knees. The loose skin is a slight concern. Would like to hear from others who recent bandees. Sally:laugh:
