At my whits end!! Gastric sleeve done back in January and STILL having a difficult time of it. Hair loss is still happening.. anyone know what to do about this? I am not getting much protein in at all due to extreme nausea, vomiting and pain when eating.

ty - i havent been able to keep the protein shakes down unfortunately.

I am week 18. Everything tastes different to me, I don’t care for what use to be my favorite foods. Most things seem to taste like pennies an too salty. Anyone noticing similar?

yes... ty - i did call the surgeon and all they tell me is it takes a while and they want me to wait again till my july appointment. i told them i cannot do that anymore. so i made appointment with a GI doc for the end of this month. i do feel really bad they haven't taken me seriously.

yes, i understand.... aside from my taste change issue, I am going crazy not being able to eat more the 2 bites of anything. food feels stuck in my throat, like my throat is gonna close. i throw it up and get sharp pains in my chest and sometimes stomach.

I am 18 weeks out now should I be checked for the stricture?

I had my sleeve done back Jan 4th an I still can only have 3 or 4 bites an I get sick, it’s like stuck in my throat, I will throw it up an get some pain in chest etc just so friggin uncomfortable to eat.

Ditto here things taste like pennies. Things seem to be salty to me now.

Has anyone had issues with a blocked bile duct or gallbladder post gastric sleeve surgery? I had gastric sleeve done in January of 2021 and am dealing with some issues.

I am on the fence about regret. I have not felt well since the surgery and deal with extreme nausea and vomit up anything over 3 bites. I have felt so weak and not with it not being able to eat enough to be healthy yet. I am praying this will go away soon!!!

I am 12 weeks out Post Op for Gastric Sleeve and ready to LOOSE IT! Can't eat squat without getting very nauseous and vomiting up what I ate. I feel nauseous from the moment I wake up... with the feeling of wanting to hurl without even eating a thing yet. I can't drink the stupid protein drinks or water without getting sick.. so I don't. YES... I have had small bites and chewed the hell out of it and yet still... this is like a living hell. I feel thirsty yet cant keep stuff down.. and weak and dizzy. I don't feel right at all and there seems to be no end in sight for this madness. At week 12 my life should be more normal by now. My weight loss is about 10 lbs a week which Doc says is slower than he would like.. So I was wondering am I the only one out here in this boat to hell???

well glad to hear.. that was exactly my thought about the starting weight and expectations on loss.. i was too the point of wanting to pass out at any given point in the day - so i couldnt imagine what my body would go through if i lost at the rate the doc suggested.

TY catwoman7 and Arabesque ok i am horrible at figuring how much i lost i think i meant 10 a month..lol i stated at 223 and yesterday i weighed in at 187 an its week 12 so whatever that turns out to be. he did say it should be 30 a month. so i am friggin failing evidently lol i have landed in the hospital 2 times to get iv fluids. i have expressed my concern and issues to the doc but he keeps saying to be patient and it takes time and everyone is different. blah blah.. and reiterates what to do again. doc says 3 pieces of anything is all i am suppose to eat. i dont think a body can survive on that. hence my issues. at yesterdays apt FINALLY they said to try prilosec and the anti-nausea med once a day and see if that helps - if not they are gonna look into my gallbladder. i agree my gut feeling is there is something odd gong on.. this cant be. i have another apt next week - and if not more normal by then i am gonna insist on an x-ray or something. thank you both for you comments.

Reply to catwoman7 yes i have been telling the office all about what i have been experiencing. each time they keep telling me everyone is different - be patient... and reiterate what to do. yesterday they finally offered something else to do. said to take prilosec and the anti-nausea medication each day. see if that helps and if not they will look into my gallbladder. so giving it another week yet again before i loose it more lol

reply - maslman you have a good point about cold water - i noticed that its goes down a notch better than cool or room temp. for me it has to be ice cold. i would love to know the reasoning for the water issue.

I was not anticipating not being able to drink or eat pretty much ... I understood it would absolutely be less portions but I cant keep down anything past like 2 bites! The nausea and vomiting issues have become intolerable at week 12 post op. The feeling of bleakness as a result is becoming overwhelming.

I have... enjoyed water prior to surgery - had surgery now it makes me ill and yes... doesnt matter what you put in it. i am at week 12 and still the same. i dunno what the deal is with this...
