  1.    ThinDolphin3 reacted to a post in a topic: I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP
  2. I also have not been on for a while. I had my surgery 2 years ago on 9/18. I also am a slow loser, 41 lbs to date. This is much harder than I thought it would be, but what I lose stays off. I try to stay on the program but life gets in the way sometimes. I am trying to lose another 20 lbs this year. Slow and steady wins the race, right! Stick with it Samurai's we can do this.
  3. Hi this just might be the group I am looking for. I was banded in Sept. of 08. I have lost around 27 pounds I lost 11 in the first month after surgery. I have been struggling ever since. I just can't stay with the program. I currently have 7cc's in my 10cc band. In Oct. I had some taken out of the band because of slight refux. I was then able to eat almost anything. Gained 6 lbs beween Oct. & Dec. Went beck and had another fill which puts me at my current fill of 7cc's. I thought this would stop me but is has not. I joined a local gym,and have an appointment with a trainer next week to set me up with an exercise program. I try not to be disappointed with my weight loss because without the band I probably would be heavier than I am. It is very hard to stay positive when you go to support groups and people who have had surgery after you have lost a lot more than you. I cringe when it comes to my turn to tell all about my weight loss since surgery. I need help.
  4. :cursing:Does anyone seem to not be losing weight but losing inches. I am a very slow loser 27lbs in a year I try to remain positive BUT!!! You all are doing so well. I am fitting into a 16 and some 14's so that is a good thing. I just want the scale to move as well. I did weigh today and I am finally out of the 200's, 199 I am happy for that milestone. My body is just holding on for dear life.
  5. Hi as everyone else I have not posted in quite sometime, I guess life just gets in the way. My weight loss has been VERY SLOW, down 27 lbs. I try try to remain positive it is less than I would be without surgery. Size 14 not to bad. Keep up the good work.
  6. I have 6.5cc's in a 10 cc band. My last fill my DR filled me to 7cc OMG I had to much restriction went back and he cut me back to 6.5. I have restriction but I do not stay full for more than 1-2 hours. I have an appt. on Wednesday I think I will have 1/2 cc put in. I am hoping a small amount will put me at my sweet spot. I am a slow loser and this is very fustrating. I have lost around 30 lbs since Sept 08. I know it is better than gaining 30lbs, so I am trying to stay positive. :crying:
  7. Something I did when I was in that stage was add protein powder to yogurt, Sf pudding, I even added it to applesause. I still add protein powder to things 6 months out. Good luck
  8. I had surgery Sept 18th. Lost very well the first few months, then WHAM nothing November-May. I lost 5 lbs with the fill in March. Total weight loss so far 23lbs. I hope that with the warm weather I will be up and moving. I work in the school system so no more excuses after June 16th. I have lost inches and pant size so I am trying to stay postive. I was hoping to be at goal weight by now, only had to lose 60lbs. I am diabetic and my sugar is getting better. My last A1C was 8.8 from a 12. Normal is 6.5. So that is getting better. Trying to stay positive.
  9. I was banded in September, and have not lost anything since November. I joined WW 6 weeks ago, only lost .6, .4 things like that never anything more than a pound at one time.Last week I went in and lost 4.4lbs. I had a fill 2 weeks ago and I think I have reached my sweet spot because I am not able to eat much at one sitting, things get stuck very quickly. I am so excited to have the band finally working in my favor. I hope between WW and the band I will start to see the weight come off. I hope to lose 40 more pounds with a loss of 60 lbs total. My leader was very supportive when I told her about my surgery, she wanted to know how I had alot of success this past week. I explained how the band works and how it was not an easy thing to lose weight, so with the help of WW and my band I hope to be sucessful this time.
  10. I feel your pain. I was banded on Sept. 18th and have lost only 19 lbs. I lost the 19 with no issues between Sept and Nov. I have not lost anything since Thanksgiving. I have gone as far as joining weight watchers hoping that between the band and WW I will start losing. Why so some loose so my much and others seem to have issues loosing? I have 7 cc's in a 10 cc band and I am finally having some problems with certain foods. Sorry I was not able to give you any food advice but at least you know you are not alone.
  11. This was a great post. I love that people are going through the same thing . This one made me laugh to the point of crying. I almost never burped before surgery, now the burps are LONG AND LOUD. My teenage boys do not burp as much as I do now. I read in a post that means restriction, I hope so I just had my 3rd fill and I am hoping this one helps. I am not losing any where near what I thought I would. 19 lbs since Sept. Not Happy. Thanks for the laughs I needed them.
  12. I am so amazed on how much you have lost since your surgery. :tongue2: I had my surgery on Sept. 18th and I am having trouble losing, 19 to date. Gained back 3 in between fill 2 and fill 3. I was losing inches so I did not worry to much but now I am not even losing the inches. This is way harder than I thought it would be. I am trying to stay positive but it is becoming harder & harder. :rose:
  13. Hi I am not sure what kind of mentor I can be, but I can surely be your buddy. I am in the same boat as you, I had surgery on Sept. 18th. Not sure how much I have lost because I am weighting in at the Dr. office only. I have lost sizes, before surgery I was pushing a size 20W, now I can wear a 14 in pants. I have had one fill and did not notice much restriction, I can eat almost anything, I have my next fill scheduled for Jan. 7th, hoping and praying this fill helps. My DR. schedules fills every 8 weeks, with the holidays I had to wait another week. Alittle bit about myself, I also work in the school system, I am a secratary at a high school in Roanoke Va. I found it much easier to stayed focused with the schedule of working in school. I am a 50 year old mom of 3 children, a daughter in college (3rd year) and 2 very active teenage boys 17 & 16 my baby is 6'2 and still growing. So there is alot of food in my home to keep two growing boys full. I think your losing 45 lbs is a wonderful thing , just stay focused, we knew this was not going to be a easy journey but a journey that will be sooooo worth it in the end. My e-mail address is leazmom@verizon.net I would love to be your buddy. Jeannine
  14. I have the same happen to me, I am hungry after I eat a meal that should fill me. I add Protein powder to everything I eat and that does not seem to help much. I am trying to keep on track from now on, I have an appointment wih my Dr. on 1/7 for fill # 2, I hope this helps. I did not notice any difference with my 1st fill. Good luck to everyone.
  15. I had my first fill Nov. 12th I di d not feel much difference with taht fill. I go back on Jan. 7th the holiday messed up my next fill, I was to go on Dec. 23. I am aloud to go every 6 weeks. I too have stopped weighing myself. I am losing inches, I have gone from a 18/20 to a 14 (most of the time). I happy with that, the weight will come off. I got a Wii for Christmas now waiting for the Wii Fit to become availble. Once I can get my 2 teen-age boys off the Wii I will give it a try. Good luck to everyone in 2009.
