  1. Sorry your surgeon is so awful. I’ve only met mine once and that was pre-op. I was supposed to see him at 3 weeks but he had a family emergency. I think I see him again at 9 weeks. I’ve had doctors that I didn’t vibe well with before and it sucked.
  2. Do you add the yogurt to your oatmeal? On my sample menus I have a lot of “add a scoop of unflavored protein powder” for foods like oatmeal, cottage cheese, ricotta, mashed potatoes etc and I tried it once. Just once. ? I think the menu creators in my program maybe have not tried unflavored protein powder in their foods. So gross! glad for the forum so we can help each other. ?
  3. Oh my gosh, no wonder you’re confused. Definitely call your nut and see what they say. Every program is different but at 6 weeks, I’m to start on the regular bariatric diet (today, In fact!). Three meals of 1/4 to 1/2 c of food with focus on protein. Right now I’m sometimes not even getting in a 1/4 c of protein only so I have my doubts about adding anything else in. hang in there!
  4. Tell him he’s been”cheating” when he uses the microwave instead of cooking over a fire, taking medicine for a headache instead of picking and brewing herbs, or driving a car instead of walking. ? why is it cheating to take advantage of medical advancements which allow us to live healthier, happier lives? Best of luck to you, Orinskye!
  5. Your stats are similar to mine and you’ve lost more than me! My team also said I should be losing faster but I am ok with my losses. Yes, it’s a snail’s pace, but it’s on a downward trend and I have only had one tiny stall. I think you’re doing just fine.
  6. At almost 6 weeks out, I definitely get a fullness feeling in my esophagus and start to burp if I don’t stop. I’ve taken it past full only once so far and paid the price with foamies and a barf. Not fun!
  7. Hey! Glad to hear you’re doing so well. Now the fun begins. ?
  8. Has anyone experienced a dry mouth while taking omeprazole? I’m taking 20mg a day and have been having a wicked dry mouth, especially overnight. I know sometimes WLS patients can have dental issues post op and I know lack of saliva production can be a problem. I’ve had this before in a previous episode of taking this med and it resolved when I stopped it. BTW I found a great resource to combat my dry mouth at night. I’ve only used it a couple of nights so far but boy what a difference it makes! XyliMelts Dry Mouth —they’re a stick on (to your gum) melting tablet that dissolves slowly over time. I’ve been waking up without a Sahara mouth.
  9. You were all right! Had an apple cinnamon and I’ll be darned if it doesn’t taste like oatmeal! SO good! Next up, blueberry. There’s a chocolate hazelnut flavor but have not found that one.
  10. Fairlife chocolate protein shake legit tastes like chocolate milk.

Had about a 45 min ride home. I was uncomfortable but not in a lot of pain. It wasn’t the most fun ride, but not bad. Mostly I felt bloated.
  12. Wow, you’re doing great! Don’t focus too much on a stall since you’ve lost so well in a short period, your body needs some adjusting time.
  13. I am convinced! Didn’t feel like shopping yesterday but will def pick some up today. Thanks for the input!
  14. Omg I don’t even want to think about that! One time of the foamies was enough for me. ?
  15. Good to know! The apple cinnamon and blueberry will be on my shopping list today.
  16. Thank you for the info, Nynandra! I have tried other Premier shakes (love the bananas and cream!) but those oats ones are looking pretty good. Are they smooth or chunky? I hadn’t thought about heating one.
  17. Looking to add some variety to my protein shake intake. They sound good but I wonder if they’re strangely textured or overly sweet. Anyone try them? TIA editing: the name is Premier Protein with Oats
  18. I don’t really know. That was what my bariatric team told me to do. Different practices do different things. I fully expected two weeks but glad there wasn’t!
  19. I’m one who had an unknown hiatal hernia repaired during surgery. I had situational reflux (only happened with certain foods) so I’m hoping the repair will eliminate it altogether. I’ve been put on omeprazole for a while so no reflux at all so far.
  20. Those women aren’t your friends if they can’t be there for you in your successes and struggles. Misery loves company and you’ve opted out of that particular party. Pretty sucky when your own family doesn’t support you though. That must be rough. side note: If WLS is cheating then isn’t taking advantage of other modern advances cheating too? Like using the microwave or washing machine or taking medication if we’re sick? The cheating/easy way comments are the dumbest arguments ever.
  21. My pain was mostly related to gas collecting across my upper shoulders and back. Honestly it took about a week to full resolve. My incisions didn’t hurt much, except for a short lasting pain under my right ribs. No nausea though. Best wishes to you!

That dress is so pretty! I won’t be sad to say buh bye to my DD/E girls. I might be sad if they become “long” tho. Lol
  23. Yes! Keep that motivation strong because you are worth it! I’d try Tim C’s super protein shake too. Probably help keep you feeling full.
