  1. Wonderful! What an inspiration!
  2. That weird mentally out of it thing? I get that for a few weeks whenever I've had any surgery. It's your body trying to throw off the anesthesia. Som÷people take longer than others.
  3. OA does not have a therapist. It is a peer therapy group based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. I was there for 3 years about 15 years ago, before any thought of bariatruc surgery. It was a nice place to meet people and they were very supportive, but the group I attended was very judgemental. Im Not sure someone going through surgery would be very welcome.
  4. I know I can't have caffeine for 2 weeks before and after, but I can have decaffeinated coffee and tea during that time.

  8. Pre surgery. I have a variety, but it's all liquid. No solids.for 2 weeks.
  9. Haven't had surgery yet, but have been a "counter " for decades. I have found that following dietician reccomendation of eating 4 oz of meat, 1/2 c carb and 1/2 c veggies pre surgery. You can have as much salad as you want and fruits count as carbs. I lost 12 lbs in a few months.
  10. I would order a variety pack of premier shakes from Amazon or Walmart. They also sell clear protein for the days of clear liquid diet.
  11. Went in for my final weigh in at the nutritionist today. Made it by .5 lb.! That was great! Then this afternoon the surgeon's office called me with a tentative date of July 12 or 13. Yeah! Anybody else in July?
  12. Quest makes a protein bar that is flavored birthday cake!
  13. When i quit smoking, i would have smoking dreams about 3x a week. I havent had surgery yet, but i can see myself doing that!
  14. I have had fair success, but ive only been doing it 6 weeks. Daid to myself that i would try it before i would get surgery. Ittle did i know that this is the similiR diet as after surgery. Just no fats. Emphasis on proteins and water.
  15. I get a little too obsessed with the scale. Im trying to limit my weighing to twice a week. It should be only once, but still struggling. I saw the idea about the string idea. Im going to try that!
  16. According to research ive done on the keto diet suggests that having carbs increases the craving for carbs. Not medical advice.
