  3. I had my surgery on October 1st and I am ready to at least walk on the treadmill or the elliptical. I also have the richard simmons tapes. I think that the walk tapes are really good! I dont want to hurt anything inside or push too soon. does anybody know when it a good time. I haven't had any complications with the surgery so I think that I am good to work out. What do you all think?
  4. hey excited in nj! my name is kadejia and i am also from nj. I now live in florida though. lol Im being banded on October 1st and i am so nervous and excited as well. I only have to do the clear liquid diet for 2 days pre-op though. After the surgery im not worried cause i hope to not have an appetite anyway. lolol What part of nj are you from? Im from neptune.
  5. Hi, Im in the same boat as you, my surgery date is October 1st and i am a little nervous cause i am not at all a sipper! I am a gulper! The nutritionist gave me a post op diet plan that instructs me to drink clear liquids every hour along with the liquid protein that they had. Im going to do the clear broth blocks that you melt in hot water, they have chicken and beef which is very good, plus it makes you feel full! Im also doing jello (sugar-free) and popsicles (sugar-free), and of course the crystal lights and water. You will make it, just dont stretch or mess up that band! For the first 2-3 months, i am going to take it extra lite to ensure that everything stays in place, it will be all worth it! For the sipping issue, i need Jesus for that! lolol
  6. how did you get that tracker? do you have to pay for it, i think they are real cute!
  7. Hi, it didnt take long at all. My Dr. submitted it to uhc on the 26th of august, and by the 13th of september, i was approved! Now, i have heard that it can take even days, depending on your insurance co. There was an issue that the nurse that works for the insurance thought that my dr. hadnt sent over all the clinical, so when she spoke to my dr, they told her that they had already sent it, so it probably was sitting on her desk and she overlooked it. It usually takes anywhere from 1 week to 4 weeks for approval. Just stay on top of it and keep calling, thats what i did. lol. i went for my preops today, the chest xray and the ekg went well, im sure the blood work will be ok too. i do have a little cold so they gave me some antibiotics to clear it up before next wednesday. They wont do the surgery if you have a bad cold! :girl_hug:
  8. Hi, im so excited and anxious at the same time. I got my approval one day and the next day I got my date! I think it's all going too fast for me. I can't wait till the big day that's going to be the rest of my healthy life!
  9. omg, i am going to be extra careful with my band! i have seen a couple of friend throw up after eating something that was too dry. i said for the first 3 months, i am not going to eat anything that was the least dry or thick. lolol . i will be banded on october 1st.
  10. i dont know how to get in the conversations! maybe i have to just sit and try to learn how to move around the site, haha
  11. well, i call liquids, th jello, the soup, and the popsicles! i dont want to cause my band any problems, im sure i can have some mushy stuff, but i am going to take it light, im going exactly by what my papers say. lolol i want to make sure that band is sealed, sealed, sealed! lolololol
  12. yes, good luck to you as well. i have my preops on wednesday. have to report to the hospital at 6am on the 1st! I hope i lose at least 20 lbs on my 2 months liquids afterwards! lolol
  13. yes, its on the 1st. i did my evaluation around the 15th of august. it consisted of about 100 questions, just to see where your mind was. then i spoke with the dr. directly so he can get a feel of why i wanted to be banded. it hasnt been long at all, i decided to get banded on mothers day when i went to the hospital for my bp. then i went the next weekend too. i said that it! i have got to get help. and then from there, i had to pay my 140.00 for nutritional eval, and the seminar and the psyc. i was approved in 2 weeks! the day i called to see if i was approved or not at the insurance co, that exact day, they had approved me and had sent out my letter the previous day to the dr and to me, so when i got home on the 15th, it was in the mailbox. i even called them 2xs to make sure that i was hearing them right that i was approved! lololol.
  14. i am in miami florida, my surgery will be at palmetto hospital. i am 39 and weigh 300 lbs. i need this so bad! i am so excited and scared!
  15. oh, ok. i have been waiting for this day to come when i find out that i was approved. now that i am, i dont feel anything, maybe numb or something. i have been overweight most of my life and in and out of the hospital for blood pressure issues, im really ready to start living my life again.
  16. Yes, support is what i need right now. lol
  17. I only have to do a liquid diet for 2 days before surgery. I have heard that some people have to do 2 weeks! Boy, i am trying to mentally handle the upcoming 2 days! I am scheduled for my pre-ops on wednesday. Hope everything goes well with that.
  18. Hi, yes i am an October bandster! I was approved on the 15th and my surgery is scheduled for October 1st! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I have uhc and didnt have to do any 6 month diet or anything!
  19. I also have uhc choice plus, i am so nervous to hear the outcome. The surgeons office submitted my paperwork about 8 days ago. Im really nervous about calling them to inquire. I want to wait till i get the letter from uhc so i will know if i have to cry or rejoice!
  20. does anybody know the procedure about uhc? i heard that they dont make you go through this long process with the supervised diet and all.:Angel_anim:
