  1. Jill, stress is a killer for all of us. Pick up the phone and make the appointment for the fill. You know it will help and put you back on track. Remember all the reasons you had the surgery. You have lost weight and are on the right track. This was just a glitch. Pat yourself on the back for what you have accomplished! Now go to the phone :scared2: Good luck and keep us posted.
  2. Congrates! You are an inspiration to us all!
  3. YES YES YES!!! Wish I had it done sooner. All those wasted years feeling horrible! I no longer live my life thinking about food. I couldn't be happier!
  4. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Forgive me if I sound harsh but who needs a partner who will not support you? It is not about anyone else, it is about you and your health. When the hurt goes away I hope you will realize you deserve better.
  5. I was going to post a long answer but figure why bother. If you really believe President moron ..I mean Bush was better there is no getting through to you. I bet you think Rush was right to say I hopes Obama he fails. I voted for Bush the first time and ended up hating him but never wanted him to fail. I had hoped he would be great. Sadly he put us in this mess. I have seen your posts before and you think you are funny being an agitator. Oh and to answer your question.. not sorry yet.... (note to self ..dont read post by el diablo..)
  6. Are you chewing enough? Occasionally I still have the problem where I am not paying attention and do not chew until it is mush. It feels like I swallowed a rock. Keep plugging, you are doing fine. Just keep following the rules.
  7. CONGRATULATIONS !! Your are an inspiration to all of us! Since I have lost weight I too am cold. As I ask around I find that most people at normal weight freeze at anything below 72 degrees! I guess it is because we no long have our insulation. I just want to give you a big hug for what you accomplished!
  8. Nice to know I am not alone. The other night I asked my hubby, how did I get this way?? During busy times we are only allowed 30 minutes on cardo machines. At those times there are always people waiting. I walk around looking at the times and people are always running way over. Some sneak and reset the machines. It makes my blood boil! I also get annoyed by those who kid themselves by getting on the bike or treadmill reading and talking on the phone and not working up a sweat...who am I to judge them?? but I do. Like everyone else I Hate those who sit at a machine socializing or staring into space. Perhaps we can start an organization of gym police. Do you think we could get hired?
  9. Keep on plugging you will get there! I eat: Breakfast - either - one package of oatmeal mixed with fat free yogurt or egg beater omelet( 2 or 3 servings of beaters) with one slice fat free cheese and some veggies or a few fake bacon bits in it. Lunch- usually a protein shake with strawberries skim milk and Bariatric (sp?) Advantage or Unjury. - Sometimes no berries but ice cubes, instant coffee and sweet & low. Dinner - lean protein and veggies Snack- one bag of 100 calorie popcorn, Two 60 calorie string cheese and two 25 calorie diet hot chocolate. Also vitamins, water & ice tea. I eat about 1000-1200 calories per day and about 80 grams of protein. This keeps me full all day. Hope this helps
  10. So sorry to hear about your problems. I hope the doctor can help you without spending a lot of money. I too feel the economic pinch. My husband is disabled from a stroke 7 years ago and I have been unemployed over a year and a half. My band, thankfully, was paid for by insurance. Good luck. Hope it works out.
  11. NO Water pills are not the answer. Drink more and you will lose more. Water pills will drain you of important minerals. Drink drink drink and you will be fine! (plus it is good for your skin
  12. Dear Scale, Just a note to tell you how much I appreciate your positive reinforcement of my efforts. I know we have had words occasionally over the last 6 months but you have been there to support me. For years you just collected dust in the corner and now I am working you every day or so. You and my new friends, the band and the gym have made a new person out of me! I know our road will be rocky at times but you are a constant reminder of how far I have come and are encouraging me to go all the way. Thank you. With Love, Diane
  13. I wish you luck. My understanding is most doctors in the US are looking around 40 (bmi) If you have other weight related problems they may go down to 38 or so. However if you are self pay I would think someone would do it.
  14. I was fine until they started to wheel me into the operating room. I felt so panicky that I started to say STOP just when the "happy drug" kick in. It felt like I fell asleep for a couple minutes and when I woke up I was back in my room and realized it was over. I am so glad I didn't stop them! This is the best thing I could have done for myself. Good luck on your journey.
  15. Try to think what the pictures would have looked like if you DIDNT lose 78 lbs! I do know what you mean. I thought I looked thinner than I am and my husband took a picture of me. It was certainly better than at 250 but I had hoped it would look better. We set all sorts of expectations for ourselves that are unrealistic. Sometimes I feel great about the weight loss and don't even recognize myself and then I have a moment like that and still feel bad. We all have to work on our self-esteem. Give your self a big hug for what you have accomplished. You are doing great! Don't give up!
  16. Perhaps we all do not have the time to analyze each persons response like you do :rose: But I agree with a post above that said it is how well prepared you are. It took me a year to do it but I have talked to others that researched it in a matter of a couple weeks and are doing well. Sure like everything some people do jump into it because they saw a commercial but depending on what type of person they are they could be successful as someone who waited a year and of course there are no guarantees that the research will make us successful.
  17. This may have too many carbs but I eat a 100 calorie serving of oatmeal mixed with a fat free fruit yogurt. You get about 10 grams of protein but I am not sure of the carbs. I also use unjury protein drink mixed in a blender with skim milk, sometimes frozen strawberry, or instant coffee and ice. Unjury has zero carbs and 20 grams of protein. Good luck!
  18. No, my insurance finally agreed. First they wanted a 6 month diet but luckily I am a pack rat and have kept copies of all the info when I did Jenny Craig. It went back years showing I would lose and gain it all back. Plus my doctor wrote a letter and stated my high blood pressure, high cholestoral and the fact my sugar just became high. I sent over 100 pages over night to them and in a couple days they approved it. I have Horizon Blue Cross blue shield of NJ. Unfortunately if I was self pay I would not have been able to do it. I am happy to say I am off all my medications and feeling good! I still have an image of myself as very fat. I'm working on that! Sometimes I don't recognize myself in the mirror. m
  19. LOL thanks for the laugh !
  20. I use one 8 oz glass of skim with a protein shake every day. When you say 3 X a day do you mean glasses? with even low fat milk that could be over 300 calories. I don't eat cereal because it doesn't stick with me. I do have oatmeal mixed with a fat free yogurt most mornings.
  21. Dan not IF you are successful it's WHEN you are successful- Best of luck from one of "those" post banders!!!
  22. Congrats and welcome! Please think of it a a rewarding life style. I too had researched it for a long time - over a year-.. It was the best decision I ever made. Good luck on you journey!
  23. Okay I am in! I would like to be down 25 lbs by then! Will be happy with 20! So that would be 148.2 (10 lbs) At 155 I think I am consider in normal weight range... Hard to believe!! I sure love this band!! Good Luck everyone!
  24. I'm down 1.8 lbs. Didn't get to the gym once this week. Everything got in my way, a dead battery, work being done on my house and my husband was sick. Boy do I feel sluggish because of it. Surprised I lost that much. Keep up the good work everyone we will all get there!
  25. Well it looks like I have lost about 11 lbs since 1/2 when I originaly posted. I am happy with that. Congrats to everyone who lost! If you didnt dont give up!
