  1. Yes I had that experience and had such a bad episode it sent me to ER , through CT it was discovered I had bad Esophagitis from the reflux and the band so I am getting a revision tomorrow to bypass ( with sleeve it can make reflux even worse)
  2. August 13th revision lapband to bypass
  3. Woohoo!!! I’m doing a revision from band tomorrow to RNY , and I seriously can’t wait to be able to eat without that god awful stuck feeling or my reflux ! Cheers to everyone ???
  4. How are you doing today?
  5. There has to be an issue as to why it would warrant a revision , as my insurance coordinator explained to me they won’t approve it unless there is a medical reason for it , I had tried to get a revision from lapband to sleeve last year but I didn’t have enough documentation for medical necessity so i got declined . This year a lot happened and I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea , GERD, Esophagitis so it made me eligible , but because of my GERD and Esophagitis I will be getting RNY instead due to reflux issues with Sleeve . As far as switching insurance companies just because you didn’t get something with one company would it void the ability to get a revision with a different company , it’s all about the companies Bariatric guidelines and how they measure medical necessity .
  6. I know exactly that feeling ! I have decided to go with bypass because of the reflux issues I have and I have Esophagitis as well , I had initially wanted to revise to sleeve but after getting my Esophagitis diagnosis from my gastroenterologist, and with the research I did , it didn’t make sense to me to go with the sleeve . It took a lot of research , talking with a counselor about me weighing my options to have made the decision to go with bypass . I am having surgery on 8/13/2020 . I am looking forward to this new step in my journey . But I’m fully committed and ready for it !
  7. Wow ... I am so happy I came back to a forum because I literally feel like your story mirrors mine . I read your story and teared up because I had been battling Esophagitis and everything that comes with the reflux for so long I thought it was only me . I am having a revision to gastric bypass on the 13th of March . I first wanted to do a revision to sleeve last year but when we realized how bad my Esophagitis was and reflux I decided the best choice for me was going to be bypass . I understand the apprehension with things like hairloss and such but I have prayed and mentally prepared myself for it.... for a person that had always used her full head of hair as a huge security blanket that was a big leap forward . It’s about healing and being healthier for my self , my daughter and my family . Let me Know your thoughts ! We are all in this together !
  8. Got my Covid test today , weirdest feeling ever lol
  9. Yes I am having a Bypass the same day! Going to be having my procedure done in Cedar Park Texas ?
  10. Where you able to find a surgeon in the CTX/ Austin area?
  11. I can’t testify to the results but I personally chose from Band to RNY , I have Esophagitis, GERD and a port leak , I didn’t want to take a baby step and then have to do another revision ( if that was possible ) in the future .
  12. I am scheduled for my revision August 13,2020 . Revision / Gastric Band to Gastric Bypass
