Was just wondering how many of us are from Gainesville or surrounding area. I'd like to maybe get a group of us together. I'm being banded on December 15 and could definately use some friends that are going through or have been through what I'm doing. :eek:

I had to sign a "contract" saying that I would wait atleast 18 months to get pregnant. That is killing my husband because he is so ready for a baby, as am I but I'd rather lose weight and be healthy for my pregnancy. Since, I haven't been banded yet..I'm waiting on my date, we know that it's really worth it in the end.

I just was approved and have been thinking about getting things at home prepared for when I come home from my surgery. During the pureed food part of the after surgery diet, would it be okay to eat the really runny baby food? Or even just baby food in general? I'm thinking since I'm a college student, it'd be easy to whip out a jar of baby food and eat some while in class. Has anyone done this and found it to be okay? I planned on asking my doctor/nutritionist but figured I'd ask here.

I'm 20 years old and a student at Univeristy of Florida. I chose to have this surgery to better my life. I am going to school to be a teacher and I want to have that confidence to get a job and be able to keep up with my students. I'm married and my husband has been my biggest supporter through all of this. My best friend has been amazing also even though she lives in Texas and I'm in Florida. She's so happy for me and it means so much considering the one person who I thought would be, my mom, isn't (but that's another rant). I started this whole process in May. I found out on Thursday that I was approved for the surgery.:thumbup: I am so excited. I will be calling this week and finding out when we can schedule my date. I'm hoping for sometime in the middle of December since I'm a college student and do not want to miss class or finals because of it. I'm having surgery at Shands at the University of Florida with Dr. Kfir Ben-David. I'd love to find some bandsters that are in my area or around my age. I can't wait to get my date and have this process continue. I look forward to all the information I'll recieve from this site.
