  1. It sucks, sorry! You can get through it though!!! We've been there, but you can't eat solids because you risk damaging your stomach which needs this time to heal. It is NOT worth the risk!! Keep coming on here for support and that will help. also, try looking at the recipes section on here for some GREAT shakes!! They help a lot. Good luck!
  2. Maybe I should go on the preop diet again, to help me breack the 240 mark. How many carbs did all of you take in on the preop? I went on 0 carbs, but bodies need carbs right? I think I was just worried about shrinking my liver that I went a little overboard.
  3. I am up 1. I am all of a sudden going from extra tight, to loose enough that I can eat 2 big taco's (bean and beef homemade hardshell) at one sitting. Apparently I need a fill, but I'm going to have to wait until DH gets a job or I start back at work in September. I still have bad reflux though. You think a fill might help that too?
  4. Congrats!! I'm still waiting on 70
  5. I posted this on the bra talk thread too, and decided that I'm going to get fitted at fashion bug, I heard that their bras are pretty decently priced.
  6. I had 4 as well, but one of them is really tiny and not even noticeable anymore.
  7. Great! Thanks so much Carrie!! Looks like I may get a new bra this week. YAY! I have been so saggy lately.
  8. That's a great idea, I even have a coupon for Fashion Bug, didn't know they did sizings. BTW I know this makes me look naive, but what exactly do they do to measure, do you absolutely have to be topless? Not sure how comfortable I'd be with that, but DARN IT I need a good bra!
  9. I just posted this on another thread too, but thought I would ask on the bra talk thread. Since I have been losing, I cannot for the life of me find a bra that fits right. I usually buy the boxed kind from walmart because I have only ever gotten up to a 44DDD and they carry that size. Where is a good place to get an actual sizing for a bra? I can't afford a lot, so pretty sure VS would be out, plus idk if they carry a 42DD. I am just having a really hard time finding a good bra with support, which I really need now.
  10. eeewww!! lol! Quick question though. Since I have been losing, I cannot for the life of me find a bra that fits right. I usually buy the boxed kind from walmart because I have only ever gotten up to a 44DDD and they carry that size. Where is a good place to get an actual sizing for a bra? 11. dabluprint, angie, and MrRiceguy ~ You all look great!! Congratz on doing so well!!
  12. Well, a lot of us have been there, and you wouldn't want to mess it up right before. I had to sit through a lot of family functions during my pre-op and it was really hard. I needed a lot of encouragement. So if I can pay it forward I will. Let me know if you need anything!
  13. I know it's hard but you can totally do it!! You will be glad later!! Good luck!
  14. I agree with Riley. If you are close to surgery than I wouln't risk it. When on a pre-op diet for 2 or so weeks, it is meant to shrink the liver. That is why you either go on liquids or no carbs(in my case). Alcohol is made up of a LOT of carbs.

ooohhh... that gave me goosebumps, especially the part about the smoke instead of the drawing in the picture! I would like to propose a rating system for stories. 1 ghost to 10. I am rating this one 8 ghosts!!!
  16. Thanks for the kind words. I was just having a bad day yesterday. I am down 0 for this week, but it's better than gaining. I should be more grateful for how far I have some in the past year. I am glad that you are getting your PS. It will feel awesome!
  17. Ok, so I am getting really sad about my loose skin lately. I have lost a ton of fat on my upper arms, and now that skin is all saggy If I look at my arms from a certain angle they look great! But then, if I make the slightest movement they make waves! EEEWWW!! I am trying to stay hydrated, but my acid reflux gives me no end of trouble. I am not coughing up liquids during the night anymore, unless I forget and take a few sips in the middle of the night. So maybe things are getting better slowly. I so want to be in Onederland by New Years! But right now, I don't see that happening.
  18. I will be praying that there is no slip! I hope all goes well tomorrow. Let us know! I am so glad that you are getting some relief! Thank goodness you found a doctors office that listens!
  19. Don't worry too much! It took several fills for me to get restriction. I am not a fast loser, and it took me at least 6 months to break 40 lbs. You will get there! Play around with your calories a bit. I know some people swear by eating 600-800 a day, but I found that I have to eat around 1500 a day to continue losing.. Each person is different, so you just have to find a good spot for you right now. Go for a walk, or take a water fitness class, or just go shopping! Not having restriction sucks! But you will get past it, and then wish for the days when you had none LOL! You can do this!!!
  20. My journey was pretty quick actually. I had done quite a bit of research about the band, and finally had the opportunity to get it done. I was self pay, and was looking for a good surgeon for a good price in the U.S. I was worried about having trouble/extra expense getting aftercare here. I found Dr. Kirshenbaum in Colorado by doing some research on surgeons on the internet, and found him to be in my price range, and an excellent surgeon. It only took me about 6 weeks from the time that I called his office to start the process until I was banded. pm me for more details if you want them!

I started reading this thread because of the ghost stories, and by the end I have been thinking a lot about these stories of people who are visited by loved ones. My Father recently passed away, and I keep hoping that I will get to speak with him, in a dream or not. On another note, I absolutely LOVE ghost stories, so I am making this an official BUMP in hopes that more people will have stories to share!
  22. I am up one this week. This stress thing sucks.
  23. I passed my one year mark as well, and I am down 68 lbs. I feel so much more healthy and a lot less blah. I actually feel like taking a walk, or doing physical activity. I have set a goal to be in onederland by New Years, so I have a lot of work to do. The best part about this whole process is that I have gone an entire year without a significant gain!!!! I know that before my band I probably would have gained another 10-20lbs in a year. I will never have to worry about that again!!
  24. Thanks. I think that a quote from The Sound of Music is appropriate right now. "When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window." This is probably just something we need to go through to move on to something better. We never know what God has in store for us, and sometimes we just have to trust him.
