  1. Just back from Denver and thought i'd do a drive by. I'm now at 3.8cc's. I talked Dr.K up .1 because I live farther away. For me it was the difference between feeling the water hit the band, and not. I would rather be able to feel it, i think that will help me. Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to find a doctor here in salt lake because with my new job i don't know what my schedule will be yet and it will be nice to not spend the whole day in airports and on shuttles and planes and hours spent in waiting rooms.
  2. I would take some of your color anytime!! LOL!! the only color I get is burned!! Then it turns right back to pasty. You'll be fine for the psych evaluation! Just be truthful i guess, and it will all work out!! I'll say a prayer for you!
  3. Oh JEALOUS!!! I wish I could play the piano well. Right now I just kind of plunk along with my students. I have taken classes because I was required to for my associates degree. But now that I am switching my major I don't HAVE to. But I should anyway. Speaking of my major, I decided to do elementary education with music as my minor, so that I can teach it in elementary schools. Which brings me to some great news!! I got the music teacher job!! It's going to be so awesome!! I can't wait until I start!! YAY!! Thought I would add a physical description of myself since I have no idea where that thread is. I am 5'6 have red hair abut mid-back length ( I want to cut off 10 inches though and give it to locks of love), blue eyes, VERY white skin (I swear it's just awful!!!) and now I weigh about 294ish. My hobbies include sewing(right now I make reproduction Civil War dresses), and of course MUSIC!! Oh, and one of my other hobbies is hanging out on here all the time ps. Good luck on your psych eval!!
  4. WOW!!! That is impressive Maudie!! Color me green! Good for you! I hope that you keep losing this way and don't need a fill!! Good luck!
  5. So how much does your fill doc here cost you?
  6. I really can understand your frustration!! I am SO there too!! But I was talking with some other ladies and they said that weight loss should not be the focus during this time. We need to be patient(which is not a quality I have) and eat healthy until our first fill. I also have a lot more to lose (144lbs) than the 14 I have already lost. But I have to think about it this way, 14lbs is more than i have EVER lost in a month before! So maybe we both just need to take a deep breath and be patient. Not easy:cursing::cursing:
  7. Well, here is my update. I had lost as much as 15.5 lbs at one point, but TOM destroyed that.:crying: I am now hanging out in the 294ish range, fluctuating sometimes up to 297. So that makes the total right now about 14lbs. It scares me that I may go up past 300 again so I am trying really hard. But I get my first fill next Tuesday so that should help a lot!

  9. Just got word that I GOT THE JOB!!!!! YAY!!!!:cool2::wink_smile::thumbup::tongue: I won't be starting until probably Labor Day because the teachers still need to work out their schedules. but still!!! YAY!! I am VERY excited!!:glare:
  10. WOW!! Everyone looks like they are doing great!!! Congratz and keep up the good work!!!
  11. Congratz on getting your fill!! No word yet from the district, but my DH said that the problem may be that they have to go through so many channels to get me hired.
  12. I'm going in on the 19th for my fill. Haven't heard from the school, maybe tomorrow. It's either Liberty or Horizon Elementary. They will decide which.
  13. So many people have health problems. And there are so many ways to deal with them. If I had a heart problem and a pacemaker would fix it, would I refuse? Like in your story I believe that God gives us tools to help us along our way. We can't expect huge miracles for problems that could be solved with a tool, hard work and faith. When my husband and I were discussing me getting the lapband, he said "I don't think that God would have someone make a tool and then not have us use it". I pray that you will have guidance at this time of decisions!!!
  14. like I said, some days I get in enough, which is about 800-1200. But days like today I resort to the liquid calories just to get them in. I have read that 800-1200 calories help you stay out of starvation mode and help you lose.
  15. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!:w00t::wub::w00t::w00t: I am still very excited!!! The interview went VERY well, and they said they will let me know TODAY!!! I think that means I got it!! The school year starts on the 25th so i will still have plenty of time to get my first fill from Dr. K. YAY!!! BTW, I am having some weird stuff going on. Some days I can eat almost anything in sight, and some days I can barely get in my protein, let alone my calories. Sometimes I have a scoop of protein powder in ice cream so that I can get both in without making my stomach hurt:crying:. I just don't feel like eating, which is a good thing. But I am worried about getting into bad habits with eating bad foods just to get in my calories. Any suggestions?
  16. I am so excited!! I have an interview for a job at an elementary school to be the music teacher!! I am still in school, but all this district was requiring is a high school diploma and the ability to teach a basic music class. My interview is in less than 2 hours!! YAY!!!! I just had to let some excited energy out!!! Thanks for letting me babble!!!
  17. I didn't think of an exercise goal. Put me down for 30min x 5 days.
  18. You can put me down for 10. I am definitely in bandster hell though. I gained 5 because of TOM:cursing: and lost only 2 of it. Really trying to get all my protien and calories in. I do my exercise but I suppose I could up it a bit. Back to eating almost normally again(whick means too much).:wink2: Maybe I should revert to the preop diet again...I lost 9 then. That might help my scale get moving again. Trying to not let the mood swings control me and it seems to be getting better.
  19. They should send you a list of the foods not allowed. I was worried that my liver would not shrink enough so I actually did no carbs and no sugar at all. I lost 9lbs in 10 days. Ask the office to email you the list.
  20. Actually I am finding that it is about the same amount of money to go to my surgeon for fills as it is to get one here. I haven't been able to find anyone who does them for less than 185. I can get cheap plane tickets, and my surgeon does fill for free the first 3 months and after that they are only $15. So I may end up finding someone cheaper, but if they are around the same price I would rather have my surgeon do it. I am looking forward to regaining control of my life as well. Thanks!!
  21. Ah, I see. Yours is very different than mine. But I suggest eating very slowly and choosing low calorie things to eat. Something like celery is a good thing to fill you up and is very low in calories. There are only 10 in half a cup. I would drop the burgers, onion rings and Pasta. Veggies and fruit seem to be the best low calorie things to eat. it may help you to spread them throughout the day too. Here is a link so that you can look up the nutritional values of the natural foods. food Statistics C Good luck with your diet!!
  22. Well, I guess the first thing to ask is what has your surgeon told you that you are allowed to eat? I know for my perop diet I was going for very low carb and no sugar. But I could have as much as I wanted. What has your surgeon said is the goal of your preop diet?
  23. I would definitely listen to your surgeon. Take it easy and let your body heal. If you are feeling ambitious take a long walk. You might call your surgeon and let him know how good you are felling again. If he says to let things settle longer than I suggest following his advice. Good luck!!
  24. I have always had trouble making myself eat breakfast. Now it's even harder because I have no appetite. I have actually been sitting here this morning thinking that I really need to at least drink a shake, but I just am NOT feeling it this morning. I know I have to get in calories and protein, but I am experiencing non-hunger and am actually quite enjoying it. Just wanted to say that you are not alone in your feelings
