does anyone gain weight before you lose?
hey everyone. I'm almost 5 months out of surgery and have lost 60 lbs. Ive been one of people that decides to torture myself and weighs almost every day. The fluctuations i see on the scale are crazy. This entire month I've had a stall. I realize that I lost a good amount of weight in 4 months, so I'm sure it's normal but frustrating. I've literally only lost one pound the entire month and I've not done anything wrong. I'm hoping I break that soon as most months I average around 10 lbs loss. Anyway, what I notice weighing every day is I will lose a few lbs in several days, then it seems like a go up a lb or so, only to relose and then some after that, little at a time. Does anyone else that weighs often notice this? Maybe it would be better if I weighed once a week or less? Thanks!!

Weight loss stall of 10 days
hi everyone. I'm beyond frustrated. I am just over 4 months post op with gastric sleeve. I have lost close to 60 lbs already so I can't really complain how ever, I have been doing everything right and have not lost ONE lb in over 10 days now. In fact, I gained 1 lb as of this morning. I am doing everything right. Has anyone gone through this? I thought a stall wasn't supposed to last this long??!! Thanks!

December 2019 Sleevers, how are you doing? What’s your stats?
On Monday I'll hit 6 weeks out of surgery and have lost 32ish lbs. I'm on my cycle now, so I'm guessing that's why I haven't lost so much this week lol

Missed period?
I actually got my period 4 days after surgery and it was early. Now I'm about 4 days past when I should of had it. I'm sure itll be off kilter for a while!! Thanks.

Missed period?
Did any of you ladies miss a period after surgery? I have 0% chance of being pregnant so in just curious if it's due to the rapid weight loss. Thanks!!

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD
I'm losing on average 3 lbs a week and I'm happy because before surgery I had trouble losing weight every damn day of my life. 5 years ago I lost 85, it crept back on and I had so much trouble since. I'm down 30.5 since surgery 5 weeks ago and I am not complaining.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD
I totally agree with this. As soon as I added 100 to 150 calories a day (I max at 800ish), i have consistently been losing close to 1/2 lb a day! We have to realize even 800 a day is a pretty big calorie deficit as most of us are well over 200 lbs when we start

Weight loss is going very slow.
I upped calories and protein and I lost 5 lbs in the last 10 days. When i was eating 500 to 600... losing less. 700 to 850ish coming off easier. I dont believe necessarily in starvation mode but I'm eating pretty much low carb so I think that's helping as well even with a bit more calories

I'm so upset, I'm a slow loser
I'm losing slow too, on average 2 to 3 lbs a week and I'm 4 weeks out on Monday. I actually lost more on my pre op diet the week before surgery. How ever I'm still down almost 25 lbs in a month thats way more than I've been able to lose in ages. I average about 600 calories a day some times more some times less and I wonder if maybe I'm not eating enough either. Hang in there you're doing great

How often do others weigh themselves?
I think every day is too much as I have been doing it and notice it even goes up a lb at times but theres no way I'm gaining even if I have a day with a bit more calories I'm still taking in 900 or less on a BAD day.

7 days post op
I wouldn't try wendys chili just yet. I tried it a few days ago at 3 weeks post OP and had a hard time with it. I didnt throw up but it sat like a brick in my stomach only after a couple spoonfuls.

No purée stage?
I have been eating the vegan meatballs too! So good!!

Stall-B-Gone
I seriously hope that happens for me. I stay the same for a few days, then drop 2ish lbs... it's been so slow and I'm 3.5 weeks out. I really hope that happens 5 lbs here and there, 1 lb a day... I'll love it!!

Starvation mode?
Nah, I don't think I really gained but it was just weird to see it move "up". I'm taking miralax and go every couple of days so def dont think its constipation. I think I need to up my water intake. I think it may help me lose faster.
-
Starvation mode?
Right I dont believe in starvation mode either when you've got loads of belly fat like me especially. I mean I'm over 3 weeks out and I've only lost 11 lbs in those 3 weeks. Yes that's decent how ever, you'd think with a very drastic change it'd be more. I'm stuck wondering if my body is confused or something lol
-
Starvation mode?
I actually gained a lb when I went to 800 calories. 800 is still next to nothing. I was eating upwards of 3000 calories a day when I was in my bad eating phase on and off. Its just so frustrating. How can I gain with 800 calories? Shoot on my preop diet for a week I ate 1000 calories and lost 12 lbs in 7 days. Its funny that that was my biggest loss, even after surgery.
-
Starvation mode?
How the heck can I lose so slow when I'm only eating a fraction of what i was before? It just baffles me. So, I upped my calories and ate 800 as opposed to my normal 600 and gained a lb. Man, this is screwing with me. I wish I was like the others consistently losing each day.

Anyone with PCOS not lose weight after surgery
I was sleeved 12/2. I have pcos and I am 39. I have lost 22 lbs since 11/25. I have been losing even being a bit older and the disorder. I'm sure its moving a bit slower than others, but its been a very long time since I lost over 20 lbs even! You'll do great and yes we can lose!!

Calories?
I'm 3 weeks post op. When I went to my post op appt a week and a half ago, the nurse told me to stay at around 600 calories a day. This would of been funny to me pre-surgery but now its easy. How ever, I have done a little experimenting and it seems like a lose a little more if I eat a bit more calories, just a bit. So some days I stay at 600 others I try to go up a bit. What are everyone's calories looking like day to day???

8 days post op gastric sleeve
You can use the powder form of miralax. I put it in my crystal light and it works well!! You cant even taste it!!

Weight loss is going very slow.
You're right. I'm a woman, I have pcos, I'm almost 40, etc. Any loss is a loss for me and I know I cant compare myself to others. I'm started right at 300 lbs and I'm 279 as of this morning. I can't really complain has this has been only 4 weeks tomorrow counting the week of my preop diet. My nurse practitioner examined me last week and said my stomach still has some swelling as well from the surgery so I'm sure there are a number of factors at this point. I'm staying the course... thanks!!
