Does anyone know of ANY of these various clear protein drinks that taste good?
I tried the BariWise Fruit Drink mix today and UGH...terrible.
Are there any that taste good that you all have discovered?

Gastric sleeve done yesterday (Tues, 12/10).
Things are going better than I expected. Not nauseated, but headache and very dizzy upon standing. The incisions don't bother me at all. Sipping liquids very slowly and have to keep sitting up straight. Otherwise I can feel a slight pain in there. My doctor's orders are clear liquids only for first week. My throat is sore and my lower lip kinda beat up. No pain meds necessary so far. Did have pretty bad gas pains right between and below my breasts. Everybody in the recovery room was burping gas. I finally did the same and it really helped. So far so good I guess.

I'm very new here but would love to make some friends here. I followed you.
My VSG is scheduled for 12/10/2019 and I'm nervous. Doing my best to educate myself fully about my new life. This forum will hopefully give me actual insights into the process. My current plan is to do exactly what my doctor and dieticians tell me to do. I really like to hear about other VSGers experiences.

PS: My gastric sleeve procedure is tomorrow 12/10 at 10:00 am.

Same day for me. I worry more about the anesthesia than anything. I had surgery before but I’m a mom with a small child. So I worry about everything.

Surgery went well. Gallbladder / Lap-Band removed, RNY performed.
Woke up in a lot of pain and was given some diluadid and morphine pain pump. Sipping water and in my room now... Onwards to recovery!
Supposed to be here overnight and released tomorrow, we shall see.

@JanLPhun, we are surgery twins, same here, today I made a visit with my daughter I hadnt seen in quite a while due to her being incarcerated they had a party for the families and yes I ate, I have been on my liver shrinking diet 21 days just because I wanted to see how disciplined I could be but today yes I failed horribly but started right back once I got home! I thought of everything I wont be aloud to eat anymore and ate what they served which was chick fa la sandwich which I only ate the chicken no bread, no cookie, no chips and drank diet lipton green tea,they had also served us for breakfast we had these sausage links wrapped with croissants I had 2 of those. I feel so guilty but made sure, I didnt go overboard! I am so ready for this new journey of not hurting, feeling socially unacceptable because of my weight and to just be healthier!

Finally hit my first major goal.
100lbs gone in 100 days
Feeling great ?
Feeling confident.
from 322lbs to 222lbs
my next goal is 200lbs
then see how I look and feel
might even get to 190 yet ?

What's 2 oz of jello like a 1/2 cup ? 38 hrs post op ! and home ! 2 4 6 8, think billy bob 1/4 1/2 3/4 1. It's the drugs. lol

No clue. We also don't have a pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks and I was on my normal diet after 4 weeks post-op. Maybe my surgeon is just progressive? haha

This question “comes up” all the time. I think the best response I have read is that generally they prefer you to wait until you are home from hospital

I'm 5 days post-op and no BMs. My Dr had me do milk of magnesia day before surgery, and having been on liquids since most likely the bowels are still on E. I agree with S@ss... As long as you don't have discomfort don't stress it. Eventually s*** will happen.

You are bloated. lol I was + 4 lbs day I got home (fri) today (sun) I'm down 6 @ 298. First time under 300 in 6 yrs.

LOVE our ninja so much we have 2. One for the smaller cups for single protein shakes and a bigger one. Only problem is that the blades seem to dull quite quickly - we're usually replacing or sharpening the blade once a year.
Brandless also has a blender that supposedly compares with the vitamix for far less.

@Dreashall Mine is 12/10, 3 days from now! I guess I'm stressed about it because I am sleeping very poorly and wake up with headaches. Pre-op diet is going OK. Just want to get on with it. Best wishes for your procedure and new life. Jan

I’m having the gastric sleeve. Starting weight 265. I haven’t lost much during the program. Current weight 261. I have issues as well with metabolism. I have an endocrine hormone disorder. The weight loss will help TREMENDOUSLY with it. I may even be able to have kids after all. ?

Gastric sleeve scheduled for December 10, 2019. Learning everything I can beforehand to be ready for my life change. Nervous and excited at same time.

I had surgery yesterday. All went well. Now just trying to keep the fluids going and start introducing pre-mixed protein shakes. In a bit of pain and nausea, but I remember this is just temporary!

So exciting to see so many posts on this thread! It means we are all getting closer and closer to surgery!
My excitement of the day is that I discovered Ensure Max protein shakes, and they are my favorite so far. It's fun experimenting, and right now I just buy whatever is on sale. Ensure was on sale, so I tried it, and I love it! So that's my exciting news! ha ha ha!!
