  1. Does anyone have or had Dr. Houseworth from Franciscan Center for Weight Management? I've seen some other people post about him but the most recent post was in like 2017. Anyone use him recently and what did you think of him? Sent from my Galaxy Note 10+ using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Anyone one Instagram? I'm always looking for active wls friends on IG to follow. I've been using IG as a platform to take accountability for myself and to meet my goals. Add me on IG boss.lady.vsg Sent from my Galaxy Note 10+ using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. So I just finished my last doctor's supervised visit today and my scheduler is going to submit my information for insurance approval no later than Friday. My question is how long after insurance approval did y'all get your surgery date? Sent from my Galaxy Note 10+ using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Congrats! I hope it won't be an issue with my insurance.
  5. Wow. I never realized that the sag can also happen on the neck. This is something I definitely have to watch for. And food highly revolves around my family. I come from a very cultural background and we see food as a way to gather, share, and connect the family bond and strength. And to really think about it now, that is why alot of people in my island is big.
  6. Wow! Not bad for 10k actually without going to Mexico and having it done in the U.S.
  7. When you do see your surgeon for consultation, ask if he/she is requiring you to lose weight because you're right at 40. I would also advise you to speak to your insurance to see if they will deny you if your BMI dips below 40, unless you have 2 or more co-morbidities. This is one of the questions I asked in the bariatric FB group because my BMI is 44, and if I lose 21 lbs then I'll be below 40. Thankfully my surgeon is NOT requiring me to lose any weight pre-surgery. Sent from my Galaxy Note 10+ using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Ahhh man you're so lucky! I have to do 6 consecutive months of nutrition classes. 4 more to go for me.
  9. Way to go buddy! Very good job! I love how you got back into soccer! I cannot wait to have the energy I once had years ago.
  10. What is TPN? Or what does it stand for?
  11. GERD is like the main side effect of the sleeve and is always usually resolved by doing a revision. Wow, what lame-o's.
  12. Did the doctors themselves require you to complete anything prior to surgery? Like nutrition classes psych eval, etc...
  13. Oh wow, sorry to hear that they denied you years ago. How much are you paying for WLS in LV?
  14. Ahhh man good luck on that! Hopefully they approve you with no problems. Thankfully, my surgeon didn't require me to lose weight.
  15. This just reminded me... looking forward to shave my bottom area without having a battle with my belly in the way. ?
  16. This is what I'm worried about. As you said, some people do just fine with the sleeve. But I'm afraid that if I went with the sleeve, it might cause GERD. I've had acid reflux in the past, but it went away after the removal of my gallbladder. But I'm really worried it may be a problem for me and then I may need to do a bypass. I've been contemplating the bypass for the last week now, it's definitely alot to think about that's for sure.
  17. From what I heard from another bariatric buddy is that what they look for is if you can handle the extreme life change with food so that you don't continue with the habit that got you there in the first place. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. I'm looking forward to actually bend over to tie my shoes like a normal human being. Lol Sent from my SM-N975U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. So you were still able to get insurance approval even though your BMI dipped below 35? My BMI is currently at 44. But if I lose more than 20 lbs, it will place me at 40 BMI, and I'm scared insurance might reject me. I have 5 more months to go. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I haven't had surgery just yet. I've met with my surgeon back in November and I told him I wanted the sleeve, but just a couple of days ago I've been considering the RnY bypass.
  21. I didn't find a new doctor yet, but if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. I definitely plan to have my current doctor just refer/transfer me to a doctor in GA.
  22. I'm moving from Washington State to Georgia State.
  23. I will be moving to Georgia in a few months. Can someone recommend a reputable bariatric surgeon preferably in southeast Georgia. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
