I have no pic, but have to share with someone! I ordered a pair of”wide calf” boots that I’ve been eyeing FOREVER - got them about a month ago and couldn’t even come close to zipping them up over my apparently overly-wide calves. I’m three days out from surgery and thought I’d try again - today the zipper went up all the way! It was a little snug in the widest part, but I know that soon I’ll be wearing them for real!!!! ???
  2. I’m halfway through my pre-op diet and I’m starting to get headaches, dizziness, and I’m definitely tired and crabby. I’m a teacher and my next two days are 12-hours (8 hour workday + 4 hours of parent conferences). I can’t wait for this week to be over!!! Surgery on Monday!
  3. I’m also getting gastric sleeve but on 11/18. Smack in the middle of my pre-op diet right now. I’m too crabby from hunger to be nervous! ? Reading about the experiences of other people on this app and in Facebook groups has really helped me feel like I know what to expect.
  4. Today is day 5 of my 10 day pre-op diet. It’s been going well except I’m really craving food at night. Started to get a little dizzy yesterday and I’ve had a headache for a couple of days (which is not unusual for me!). 11/18 is coming up fast now!
  5. I’m 42 and in Minneapolis, MN. My sleeve surgery is coming up fast on 11/18! I’ve already lost about 35 lbs in five months and I can’t wait to start seeing some serious pounds dropping off.
  6. I also haven’t told many people. A few friends, family members, husband, a couple of people at work. I don’t want to become the poster child of gastric sleeve and I don’t want everyone thinking about my weight every time they see me.
  7. My surgery is still coming up, but I’ve been sampling some different protein shakes to get ready. I like Premier (from Costco, Target, or Amazon) - the chocolate and caramel flavors are my favorite and I also like strawberry, peach, and banana. I’ve also tried Orgain (also from Costco and Amazon) with whey protein - I love their creamy chocolate fudge flavor but don’t like the creamy chocolate. I’ve used and enjoyed SFH’s Fuel and Pure powders mixed with milk in the past (ordered from Amazon) and have been stocking up on a bunch of flavors. I also got a Protein2o protein water variety pack on Amazon that is pretty good - planning on freezing some in popsicle pouches for right after surgery.
  8. How are you feeling now? Did time, anti-depressants, healing, and support help?
  9. My surgery is November 18. It’s coming up fast!
