October Surgery Roll Call
I had surgery 10/24 and I'm down 60lbs. I'm doing well and enjoying new adventures. I try to get out of the house on weekends to avoid sitting around and snacking, plus I get extra steps in. I'm still 20lbs from the doctor's goal and 60 from my goal, so I still have a long way to go. But I'm excited to be on this journey! Cheers everyone

I want to see those October Sleevers!
I'm having trouble getting all my liquids as well, though I'm constantly sipping. My 2 week follow up is Monday, so I'll see if it's effecting my labs

October Surgery Roll Call
Hi Sarah, I had surgery on the 25th. The nurse in the hospital gave me an ice pack across my incisions and it helped immensely, especially with the swelling. I only removed it when I'd go for a stroll. I used it at home for a couple days until my abdomen returned to almost normal. Walking really helps with the pain, which can be a combination of gas and surgery pain. I found that warm mint tea (no sugar) helped with the gas also. Welcome to the other side. We got this!

I want to see those October Sleevers!
I had the sleeve on 10/25/19 and I'm planning on returning to work 10/31. I'm still a bit stiff, but overall I feel great. My job is mostly sedentary, but I feel like I'll get in more walking than I have staying home

CHEWABLE MULTIVITAMINS???
My doctor recommended Bariatric Fusion chewable. I found the orange cream flavor on Amazon. 4 chewables a day gives you all the iron, calcium, B12, etc. you need and they taste good.

Surgery this week...
I am so glad it's over! Now, I don't have to think about backing out. My toughest decision today was deciding between grape or watermelon Liquacel!

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
I'm really glad that I'm not the only one facing the tell/ don't tell challenge. My surgery is tomorrow, I'm nervous but looking forward to it.

Surgery this week...
My surgery is finally scheduled for this Friday. I went in for my pre-op labs, x-ray, EKG, anesthesiologist consult today. Now things are very real. I'm trying to keep myself busy, buying my post-surgery protein, Jello, etc. but I'm starting to feel the nerves. Has anyone gone through the last minute doubts like "maybe I should try dieting again?" I think a big part of my concern is that I feel isolated and ashamed to tell anyone, so only my husband knows. I tried to tell my sister, but she immediately came up with a million reasons for me not to. I don't really have any non-judgemental friends. So if things don't go right, I'm afraid of the backlash. Is anyone else in a similar boat?
