  1. Hi All - I saw on one forum (not sure which, I'm on so may now), but I know some of you seem very knowledgeable (like Fluffy Chick). I haven't tried CBD oil at all yet, but I wanted to (I have anxiety and take xanax, but I want off and know not to mix the two). My sisters and I are going away this weekend and they have ingestible CBD oil and CBD oil face masks. Is it safe/ok to use before surgery? Someone said you can get rejected for surgery if you take CBD and I don't want to do anything to mess it up. I won't see any docs again until the week of 9/30, but I'll call them if I have to. I also know the person who said this is trying to quit smoking and they vape CBD - the doc probably wants them to stop smoking all substances, which is why they may have said CBD is not ok to take. Anyone know the answer on this?
  2. Hi all, Anyone have an October 2019 surgery date? Mine is 10/28/19 (my surgeon is away for 2 weeks, so I'm at the end of the month). Oh, the holidays are going to be so weird this year (my birthday too, which is 11/19).

    PCOS: What's the Verdict?

It regulated my period, for the first time I can remember in as many years. It's easier to lose the weight after surgery, which is amazing. I have lost a lot of hair, however, it's worth the trade off. I take my vitamins and get my protein in. Regardless of PCOS, I've seen people lose hair, and some haven't. The health benefits outweigh (no pun intended) the hair loss. I had thick hair, even with PCOS, and lots of it, so I have hopes it will grow back. Now, if only my chin hair would go away.....

    Where did THAT come from?

I'm guessing nerves? It's a huge life change. You're altering a part of your body, forever. You're giving up your current relationship with food, which, for a good portion of us, is hard. Food is comfort. For some, it was their friend (that's what the people on the 600 lb. life show say). It can be fear. We all worry about surgery. While I cried over nervousness before, I had waaaayyyyy more emotional moments after. Happily, most of them are good now (teary-eyed over a new size or number on the scale I haven't seen in forever; not being out of breath or doing something I couldn't for quite some time). You'll go through, and continue to go through a lot. It's ok to let it out and cry. It's healthy! I'm so happy for you, so glad you're date is coming soon.

    Confused and Depressed

Breath in and out. When you first have surgery, you are pumped full of fluids and all that, so you actually go up in weight. And it comes off. It all didn't come on overnight (but I know how easy a gain is, compared to a loss). My best advice - don't look at everyone else's numbers and stats, or you're going to drive yourself mad. I did that in the beginning. But everybody (emphasis on body) is different. It will work for you. You started at 250, so you may lose slower than someone who started at 450 (that's more fact). Every pound is great and when was the last time you lost 8 lbs in 13 days? That's an AMAZING accomplishment. Don't stress yourself out and keep working your program. You'll do wonderfully!! ❤️
  6. I have lost 116 lbs (some before surgery, 61.5 since surgery). I have, very honestly, never felt better. I really believe it's the combination of no added sugar/super low sugar, hardly any carbs (I have only eaten sweet potatoes, barley or fruit), exercise and vitamins. I feel like a teenager again, at 41.

    MOOD SWINGS

I have had some mood swings, for sure. I have PCOS and I know my hormones are way more regulated. My period actually comes when it's supposed to, every month. And yes, we all used food as a coping mechanism. It's an adjustment, but I promise you, it doesn't last long and gets better. She will be ok; just be supportive and kind

    Robotic sleeve surgery

Had mine done robotically. No issues. It is more precise. I'm super happy with my results thus far. You'll do wonderfully!

    Regrets?

No regrets, it saved my life and gave me a new start. This girl huffed and puffed down the block, to her car, and is not preparing to do a race and does 6 to 8 miles in a day. Aside from typical pain at the big incision (where the stomach comes out), I've been blessed with no complications and haven't gotten sick once yet. Yes, I've had uncomfortable bloating, and some times feel nauseated (mostly my vitamins, which I'm changing) but that's all. It's been such a tremendous blessing, but it's truly a personal decision. All I can suggest is to educate yourself, listen to your surgeon and nutritionist and, if you make the choice, don't let others get you down.
  10. So, I've experienced quite a few NSVs as of recent. I can cross my legs (not super comfortably yet, but hey); I'm in a size 14/16, down from a 26; and I see my collarbones. Yay! 2 1/2 months out - 50 lbs lost post surgery and an additional 54 lbs was lost before (on my own, July 2019). I'm walking fast and exercising amazingly. This, all from the woman who got winded walking down the block to her car. Life is good!

    Stomach stretching

I do believe the pouch can be stretched. If anyone watched that recent episode of this new season of My 600 Lb. Life, there was one woman that had the sleeve, only made it to 300 lbs and was on the show again to get a revision, because she ate her way back up to 600 plus pounds. When he did the revision, he said the first sleeve procedure she had was completely undone. And her revision was hard because she had tons of scar tissue. We totally can undo what we've done. That fact always frightens me and makes me remember to measure my portions, whenever possible.

    October 2019 sleevers

I, too, have PCOS, and I feel we have to fight a little harder for it. But we'll get there.

    October 2019 sleevers

10/28 sleeve, down 50 since surgery, about 104 since I started my own journey in July. I hit a mini stall and then upped my exercise. That did it for me.

    Where are my 3months warriors?

Surgery 10/28, down 50 lbs since surgery. Well out of the 300s. Lost over 100 lbs since I started in July 2019 (I lost more than 50 lbs before surgery) Energy is off the charts and so much more active. So happy and thankful every day. I'm doing the best I can, for me, but struggle not to compare myself with others. I work on that, every day.
  16. You had surgery same day as me, only 10/28/19. You're doing phenomenal, you'll be fine. I WISH I was down to the last 20.

Where and who did your surgery?

He is the best! And he is a handsome, southern gentleman! (I had the same team/doc, can you tell )

    ITCHING

Yes, I was itchy and I still am. I use a lot of Gold Bond lotion, which helps. Stay hydrated.
  21. Hey everyone! Happy (almost) New Year. I know we all have goals and mine is to get to my goal (even if it takes more than the year 2020). I pinched a nerve in my neck but I'm walking and even doing some classes, but I can't lift weights yet because of that. I can't fathom it, with the pain, and even doing what I am doing can be tough sometimes. I've lost a LOT since July (most of it on my own, pre-surgery) and now I've hit my first real stall. I've added the exercise and I haven't cheated even once on the diet. I have been cleared to regular food as of yesterday. I am changing it up. I know I'm losing inches and I'm not a slave to the scale, but it wouldn't hurt to see the stupid number move, as I'm 5 lbs. away from losing the first 100 (I was very heavy, so I'm still not going to be near goal, even with that). I'm happier, healthier, off meds, but, like everyone else, I want the number to move. I'm trying not to stress it, because I know that makes it worse. So, my question - what do you all do to make that number on the scale move. I like different ideas anyway. Please share. Thank you!!!
  22. I am good with my water intake. I seem to hit or exceed that goal daily. I am not always the best with my protein goal, but I've made that a bigger priority. The scale did move today. .6 Lbs - I'll take it! Happy New Year! Thank you for all you post. I read your comments all the time. You're an awesome inspiration!
  23. They gave me a muscle relaxer. I can't have the prenisone/steroids because of the surgery, which is what they would have given me otherwise. I go to the chiropractor and his massage therapist weekly. I wear a soft collar when I can. It's not really improving too much. I will probably have to go for the MRI by my doc (but my chiropractor swears it will get better...very minimal improvement in the last month). I don't want another surgery and can't afford that. Maybe physical therapy too. I do all the exercises they gave me. I guess, that too, is a slow process. As for the weight loss, yeah, I'll just keep working the plan. I know you are all such gurus, so I figured I'd ask if there was a little something anyone does to break a stall. I reviewed my food logs and I'm around 500 to 600 calories. Protein goals vary - I try and hit goal everyday, but those days I'm not super hungry, it's hard. I need to invest in some of that flavorless protein powder (the company that makes the shakes I drink has them). I'm on top of the water/hydration, but sometimes my protein goals can be better, so I'm adding a protein snack (so calories are more around 600 these days). Thank you Fluffy (and thank you everyone!!!).
  24. Ok. I figured going back to that phase would only be after a while (though my Nut never mentioned the reset diet - I will see her in February and speak to her about it then - in case in something I want to do in the future). Thank you!
  25. Isn't it too early for that if I just had surgery 10/28 of this year? I haven't eaten one bad thing. I think it's just a normal stall. I thought about it, but I was literally just cleared for regular food yesterday. I'll see what happens I guess.
