  1. I just had to cancel a work trip that is scheduled 3 weeks post op because the MD said no. However, It was only a two hour flight but I understood and the chance for blood clots was enough for me to just say ok DOC.
  2. Our surgery dates are close (July 15th) and I am also on a three-week liquid diet. It is such a struggle. I actually have just declined a few outings. I am sending you extra strength prayers. We are almost there!!!
  3. I am not post-op yet but thank you so much for this great ideal!!!!
  4. I can tell you for me it is a struggle. I was ordered a two-week liquid diet. I know myself so I stretched it to three weeks so I could get a practice week in to help me figure things out. It is soooo hard - for me. I have tasted some protein shakes that I hate and two that I am now Ok with. I am taking it day by day.... 11 more days to go.
  5. I will keep this in mind as I make it past this revisional surgery. BTW--- You have done amazing with your weight loss . Way to go.
  6. Wow that’s amazing!
  7. Thank you so much! I am praying I can shed at least 5 more in the next 10 days!
  8. Ok everyone- I am doing a 3-week Pre-Op Liquid Diet followed by a 1 day clear liquids the day before surgery. So far I am down 14 lbs (still 11 days till before surgery). What was your Pre-Op weight loss like?
  9. Welcome and Congratulations on your surgery date!!!!
  10. I think you are doing amazing!!! Also, way to go on the breastfeeding! I also continued breastfeeding my children for the same amount of time. That is so AMAZING!!! Sending continued prayers for a speedy healing recovery. Thank you so much for posting this update!
  11. So happy you had your egd completed. I also think it is amazing that your pouch did not stretch!! That is great news. Without stretching did the surgeon suggest any next steps (outside the monitoring the acid)?
  12. Thanks so much for all the updates!! Rest well and recover!!! Sending great thoughts for early am discharge!
  13. Congratulations!!!! Super excited for you. This is great news.
  14. I will say for me it is not as easy as I thought it would be. I am just doing my best to stay away from the smells of food Which protein shakes are you using?
  15. Just read that you are also a nurse!!! We make the most interesting patients! Also a fellow doctoral student (c/o 2021). I am confident your colleagues took great care of you! Speedy Recovery
  16. I completely understand, and it makes so much sense. Like you, I am aiming for success and want to be able to win this battle. Yes, the home health agency was my life saver. I had to call two to find the perfect one for me. Please let us know how the WLS seminar goes next week. As for me next week I will do my last primary care physician visit pre-surgery (Monday) and my Pre-surgical WLS class at my hospital ( required by the hospital) on Tuesday. I was a bit dismayed at the 6 month waiting period in January but now that I am about to cross the line I will be happy to start (or continue) this life long journey a healthier me.
  17. Thank you o much for posting this!!! So like you, I also want and will need the follow-up support that comes after surgery. My office does offer this (for a fee), but it is an investment that I am going to make for myself. I think it is under $300. As far as the endoscopy - I was in the same boat as I had just moved to the city I am in. What I did was find a nursing/home health agency who does supportive services/transportation etc. I explained that I was having a procedure and needed a ride home after. I had to pay for two hours of the nurses time ($60) for her to drive me home. We were together for less than 30 minutes but it was the only way I could get my procedure completed. I took a uber to the location and she picked me up and signed me out. I arranged for the home health aid to be there when I finished and also let the doctor office staff know the dilemma I was in so they understood that I had a medical professional to be there for me once I was done. She was there on time (a beautiful person) who drove me home and even called to check on me after I was comfortable at home. Anyway - that is how I dealt with that similar problem.
  18. I am so happy you have made a decision for you! I know in my case I feel like I am going at this alone as there are not too many people who have had a revision to their RNY before. I am ok with this as I know it is what I need. More than anything I am happy and will be happier when I am finished with the surgery (2 weeks away).
  19. Will do. I am two weeks away from surgery now. Best wishes on your endoscopy. That for me was when I had a true answer. Let us know how it goes.
  20. Well, to start I will be praying for you. Second, I am not sure there is a way to completely calm your nerves. However, also know that you are starting an AMAZING lifelong journey!!
  21. Hello Everyone-- This is my story!!!! I was 398 lbs and had gastric bypass RNY on 11/30/2009. I lost 200lbs. I had a baby in March 2017 and gained weight with the pregnancy and have been struggling to return to my pre-pregnancy weight of 213. My surgeon will reduce my pouch (stretched 3 times it's the surgical size) and reduce my stoma (also stretched). My surgery is on July 15th. I am doing a 3-week liquid diet to get ready.
