  1. My Surgery was 11/4/19. I’m still having issues with eating. I’m either not hungry or what I fix just doesn’t taste good. I feel like maybe I wait to long before I eat. I drink my protein drink and I’m full all day. Sometimes I eat something today I’m fine the eat the same thing tomorrow and I throw up. My surgeon says you’ll get there. Anyone else had a hard time eating 2 months after surgery???

2 months after surgery still can’t eat much

The nutritionist says that this surgery doesn’t get rid of hunger. It’s all in how we decide to deal with it. I get hungry but I do try and nibble on things I can try. I wanted candy the other day. I bought sugar free caramel candy. I ate one and I was completely satisfied. My sister says it all about choices and making the right ones. I’m still mostly on protein shakes and sugar popsicles. The shrimp last week was the best treat.
  3. I’ve told my friends and just a few family members. I have a few friends that would have been a little negative. I know one would’ve been saying Why? It’s to extreme, it’s not good. She does it with just about everything I do. I just recently told her after it was done and 2 after surgery. First thing she said was why??? Everyone I’ve told has supported me and they’re there for me. My sister had this done in 2004. She’s helped me a lot with questions. So I’m thankful for not telling a few.
  4. Technically you’re telling the truth if you say you’re drinking water and protein shakes. I’ve heard the same about people gain. My sister said she gain some back but nowhere near what she was. I haven’t told a lot of people. The ones I don’t want to know I’ll say diet and shakes and working out.

2 months after surgery still can’t eat much

So I’m excited to say I ate 3 grilled shrimp and a few green beans and was in total heave. At least I made a good choice in my food selection.

    Which Pain Kilkers?

That drives me crazy when you get different information from different doctors. I hope you feel better. I hope they help you soon. I know the pain isn’t good for you especially after surgery.

Sleeve to bypass weight loss concern

I wanted the sleeve but my doctor said the heartburn after a sleeve was horrible and he would only do the bypass. I was thinking the other day I wish I had fought him this until I’m reading your stories of the pain you’re dealing with. I’m so sorry you all are having such pain.

    Which Pain Kilkers?

I’ve had bruised ribs. They can give you a mild pain pill. Make sure to tell your dr you had the surgery and you can’t have steroids or any inflammation drugs.

Why Am I Always Cold ?

The nutritionist told me that when you lose weight your body changes. She said if I was normally hot it would change and I might get cold easier. I started at 302 and I’m down to 244. I get cold now sometimes, especially my feet. I think it’s just a common thing. I definitely would check with you dr just to make sure.

2 months after surgery still can’t eat much

I have tried to eat a few bites of tuna in the pouch. I did make some taco soup. I ate some the first few days then I didn’t want it. Sometimes I get a little hungry. I’m still doing shakes and the sugar free popsicles. They are heaven when you can eat lol. They told me at Christmas I could eat a little to enjoy the day. I did have a little ham some beans I did fine. I only ate a few bites. Took some home and a few days later couldn’t eat it. I saw where someone was eating hummus so I bought some to try. Believe me I’m not rushing anything. My sister had this done in 2004. She gained a little back and said she can eat what she wants just in smaller portions. She said she still can’t process any sugar. Which is a good thing. thanks for everyone’s comments. It helps to have other people to talk to while going through the process. I started out at 302 in June 2019, surgery 11/4. Im down to 244 I’ve lost about 33 since surgery. My dr said my goal is 10 lbs a month and I’m reaching that goal. Going to sign up to go back to the gym. I can’t wait.
