  1. Pre op for me is on Wednesday and surgery on Thursday. We’re going to take the drive down to Key West on Tuesday.
  2. Sounds delightful! It was 30 with black ice on the road for my walk this morning and rained all last week. I am seriously craving some sun! Are you up Monday or Tuesday?
  3. I had COVD back in October and since I’m a nurse in a big public health hospital I’ve already had my first vaccine. Although there have been isolated cases of people getting re-infected it’s pretty unlikely. Once less thing for me to worry too much about! I’m glad your pain has been manageable and that healing is going well. Are you able to get up and moving much?
  4. I am! Packing my bag tonight. I had a pedicure today and getting waxed tomorrow then we fly out doe Miami Sunday morning. How are you feeling? Has your pain been tolerable? Have you had a peek at things yet or are you still all covered up with dressings?
  5. I’m going to second what catwoman said. I was very worried about loose skin pre op. Boy, do I have it! Belly, breasts, thighs and arms. However, I wouldn’t change my decision to proceed with my VSG. I’m so much healthier, have so much more energy, look better in clothes (and can choose clothes that I actually like rather than just what fits). I’m scheduled for plastic surgery next week and the loose skin will be gone. This surgery is by far the best decision I ever made.
  6. I’m looking forward to hearing about your experience! I’m also wondering about sizing. I’m currently a 34 DD, but really just cups full of loose wrinkly skin. I’m hoping to stay around a DD, but full & perky :)
  7. I’m having a tummy tuck w/muscle repair, breast lift & augmentation and arm lift in one surgery with Dr. Alex Earle in Miami.
  8. After tons of research I landed with Dr. Alex Earle. I looking forward to enjoying some winter sunshine in Miami for a couple days pre op! Our usual winter rain & gray in Seattle is really getting to me this year.
  9. I’m up on 1/14. I leave for Miami one week from Sunday. Congrats to you @Kris77 and @ChubRub! Are you both having the same procedures?
  10. The January PS club! A great start to the New Year :)
  11. I’m just under two weeks away from my tummy tuck, BL/BA, and arm lift. I’m nervous and excited! This truly feels like my reward for all of the hard work I’ve put in to lose my excess weight. I’ve got my cute swimsuit picked out for my before & after pic which I will post here. For those who’ve gone before me, any last minute advice?
  12. I’m sorry your aren’t getting a particularly friendly welcome to the forum! I agree, affinity groups can be very a very important part of the process! If you have a question as it relates to your particular place in life, it is likely someone else has that same question. To those posting rude responses, I would encourage you to just move along from any topic you don’t feel relates to you.
  13. This bothered me far less than I worried about pre surgery. My doc says you can drink right up to your first bite, then nothing while eating and for 30 minutes after. I’ve gotten used to it and it doesn’t bother me at all anymore.
  14. I do a variant of this, for breakfast every morning I mix a premier protein shake with cold brew coffee. Yum!
  15. No, but my surgeon offers 6 months zero interest financing through Care Credit. I saved up and paid $11,000 cash and will pay off the last $5000 before the six months is up.
  16. I’m able to tolerate most things. I never loved eggs and I like them even less now. I can’t eat very much pork (too dense and fills me up very quickly). I’m ok with some sugar in foods, but sweet alcohol contain drinks will make me dump.
  17. I’m have a tummy tuck w/muscle repair, breast lift & augmentation, and arm lift on January 14th. I’m paying $16,100. I will be 17 months post VSG. Not sure on my breast implant size yet. I’m a very deflated 34 D. I don’t really want to be bigger, just filled out instead of loose skin.
  18. I’ll echo the above recommendations and add soft stretchy leggings to wear under your hospital gown for walks in the halls.
  19. Yes! I had my VSG in August of 2019. Last fall and winter I had a near constant cold. Sore throat, stuffy nose, watery eyes. Allergy meds didn’t help so I don’t think it was that. I asked my surgeon about it and she had no idea why. It finally resolved around March.
  20. I agree with several of the above points. I find myself shopping way more, it’s so much fun buying cute clothes that I could never have worn before. Also, body dysmorphia. I feel so much worse now naked. I’m getting plastic surgery in January-a tummy tuck, breast lift & augmentation, and arm lift. I’m hoping it will help me feel better! If not, I’ll be seeking out therapy for it.
  21. I updated my old FitBit to the new Versa. Great sale on it at Costco! Also snagged some AirPods, which will be great for my walk/runs.
  22. The new Cinnamon Roll flavor of Premier Protein is also delicious mixed with cold brew coffee. My favorite breakfast!
  23. My favorite is Vitamin Water Zero. I buy it by the case at Costco. Each is 20oz, so four a day gets me really close to my fluid goal of 120oz/day. The rest I get from my morning protein shake + cold brew coffee concoction and a couple cups of tea.
  24. My strong cold brew every morning mixed with my protein shake helps prevent constipation :) My doc is fine with it as long as I get at least 64 oz of non-caffeinated fluids in each day.
