  1. 23 days post op today. Just did my first 3.5 mile walk post op and felt great! Also tried on a bikini I bought from Shein that arrived today. The cups are teeny tiny-one errant move and I’d be in a nip slip situation! This’ll be going back, but it’s fun to see my 51 year old boobs looking like 21 year old boobs :)
  2. 2.2 lbs/week = 114 lbs in a year! Before surgery I couldn’t even have fathomed losing that much in a year. You’re doing fine! Trust the process, continue tracking and exercise as you’re able and those pounds will add up to a huge loss.
  3. No anger here. I think I first attempted pizza at about 4-5 months post op. I’ll still have half a slice from time to time. I’ve been delighted that I am completely satisfied after half a slice. Allowing this kind of “treat” from time to time has made this livable for me long term. I’ve met my first goal weight, so it hasn’t derailed my process overall. I think the key is just keeping these kind of foods (high carb/fat) an occasional thing rather than falling back in to old habits and having them daily.
  4. I take Benadryl every night for both sleep & allergies, and Zyrtec every morning. I also had my sleeve surgery in 2019. I’ve lost steadily and am now at my first goal weight of 155. I’m thinking of dropping another 10 to 145. No issues with antihistamines causing no losses or even gains for me.
  5. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift & augmentation, and arm lift 3 weeks ago. I’d say the arm lift was the most painful. However, like Kris77 and ChubRub, the pain was really only the first 3-4 days and well managed with pain meds. After that each day has been better & better. I now only take Tylenol occasionally at bedtime if I’ve overdone it during the day.
  6. Weird side effect of my arm lift that I’ve noticed over the last couple days. I had enormous bat wings, which provided great padding to my arms. The last couple of nights, while laying in bed, I’ve noticed discomfort when my inner elbows and laying against the bed for too long. Much like my bony knees that now need a pillow between them I now need a pillow under my now bony elbows for comfort!
  7. Plastic surgery! Check out the PS forum here for lots of folks who’ve had it done. I had mine Jan 14 and couldn’t be happier. My 51 year old boobs look like they belong on a 20 year old :)
  8. Congrats on losing the drain-such a good feeling! You are looking amazing ❤️
  9. Not sure if is the swelling, or the stomach muscle tightening, or just recovery in general but man is my restriction in full effect right now! I’m 16 days post op and can eat far less than I did pre PS. Dinner tonight was a quick & easy charcuterie platter as we’re in the middle of a bunch of house projects. A small slice of cheese, one small slice of prosciutto, and 2 small crackers and I’m feeling that full to nearly puking sensation. Anyone else experience this after their PS?
  10. I wish someone would have told me the things I was so worried about wouldn’t be such a big deal! I was so worried about giving up my Coke Zero addiction, and it’s been a complete non-issue. I was also very worried about loose skin. I took care of that via plastic surgery and feel great.
  11. These are also COVID symptoms, you should consider getting tested.
  12. I’m so sorry you’re struggling. Have you had a check in visit with your surgical team and your dietician? That would be a good starting place if you haven’t. Go back to the basics, follow the guidelines you were given at the start of the process. Also, if you haven’t already, consider counseling and treatment for your depression. Looks like you’ve got a sweet buddy there who could be your walking partner to get in some activity each day! Hugs to you, keep coming back here for support ❤️
  13. It’s so normal to have these fears! I was close to having WLS about 10 years ago, but cancelled due to fear. I’m now about a year and a half out, and only regret not doing it sooner. My recovery was a breeze. I took 3 weeks off work, but could have gone back after two. Pain was minimal, more fatigue than anything else. I carefully followed my team’s plan and have lost at a steady rate. I started at 286 and am now at my doctor’s goal of 155. Loose skin was definitely a thing, and I had plastic surgery to take care of that two weeks ago. Even if I hadn’t been able to have PS, I would take the loose skin over the 131 extra pounds any day! The process isn’t easy, but so very worth it. I can walk, run, hike, bike, and dance with my husband. I can walk in to any store and buy clothes that I love rather than trying to find something that fits me. I’m so glad I conquered my fear to do this, it is worth it in every way.
  14. Awesome! Glad you’re doing well ❤️
  15. I’m taking the Pure brand, bought off Amazon. One gummy in the morning and one before bed.
  16. So this is quite anecdotal with a sample size of just me. I had heard that ACV could help with GERD. My surgeon had me on Prilosec for the first 3 months after my sleeve and then tapered me off of it. I started having occasional GERD. I didn’t want to go back on Prilosec. I read about ACV and gave it a try. I now take one gummy in the morning and one at night. Zero GERD for the last year since I have been taking it. It could totally be a coincidence, but to me it’s worth it to keep taking it.
  17. I had local consults and wasn’t thrilled with any of their results. Also, the cost was insane. My quotes in Seattle ranged from $30,000-$40,000. I paid $16,100 in Miami so even with travel costs I came out way ahead. I found a great doc there that I loved, and had lots of experience working with weight loss patients.
  18. I wear Bermuda shorts, and feel great in them. I don’t think I’d do short-shorts though. But I’m also 51, so Bermuda’s are age appropriate :)
  19. Mine aren’t great, I’ve always been “bottom heavy”. However, I had a tummy tuck a couple weeks ago and actually got some improvement in my thighs from that. Not sure if I’ll do a thigh lift down the road or just learn to live with it. Thigh lifts seem to be the most problematic plastic surgery. I’m going to keep working out for the next couple years and see what I can accomplish that way before making a decision.
  20. I had a sleeve. Took 3 weeks off of work-I’m a nurse, but in a clinic so more of a desk type job. I could have gone back after 2 weeks.
  21. They have a good selection of nuts. I often have nuts of some sort as my afternoon snack, and have picked some up there.
  22. I agree, it’s probably a multitude of factors. My insurance paid for my VSG in full, so my financial skin in that game was nothing (although I wouldn’t discount the emotional cost and hard work along the way). However, saving up and then handing over thousands of my hard earned dollars will be a strong motivator to keep on track. And you’re right, my husband and I are fortunate enough to purchase high quality meats & produce, and can afford my kickboxing gym membership so those things help as well. Physiologically, I can also see where the reduction of quantity of fat cells could have effect, plus the additional tightening effect of the muscle repair I had in my abdomen makes my restriction even more pronounced.
  23. TJ Maxx, Ross, and Marshall’s have bras for about $5. I bought lots there on my way down.
