My first NSV............
.....The weather is a-changing. The cool weather has brought out the jeans. This morning, I took out some size 20 pants that were previously too small, put them on for the first time since being banded, and now they are too big.:clap2: Damn, missed the opportunity to wear those. :heh: Size 18's are still too small, so will wear whatever fits until then. Thank you band, Thankyouverymuch!

How would you handle this?
OMG that made me laugh... Denise you need to be very confident in your decision. Whatever is behing her comments, you need to show you are confident in your decision. I feel for you, girl. This is a hard enough decision to make without naysayers. hugs to you....

What's for lunch/supper?
I am buying those roasted chickens every time I go to the grocery store. I just enjoyed some roasted chicken, with 1/2 small avacado, with a little Ranch Dressing and tomato. DELICIOUS! For supper, I bought some halibut, and will serve it with some steamed veggies. Maybe rice for the family but not for me. What are you having? I love hearing what other people eat.

July 2006 Band Crew
It is so hard isn't it? And for some reason, when we are feeling good and that our pants are getting baggy, we sabotage ourselves. Consider yourself worthy. I think many of us are the same way, I am, and it is a constant struggle to NOT binge. Forgive yourself and move on..... Group hug to you and all of us who sturggle daily.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
and how long have you been banded. Just curious. I am at 1.65, and have been banded 8 weeks.

Time between fills?
I read this the other day and it really seems to be true for me. What I find almost funny is the day to day differences, hormones, stress, exercise or no exercise, the weather....for me I think all these things make my band feel different on a daily basis. I like the idea of not racing through weight loss and if despite following all the rules one is not losing 1-2 pounds a week, then a fill may be required. I am so greatful for this site.... hugs to all

July 2006 Band Crew
Haven't checked in for awhile. I feel like I get lost on this HUGE thread, but do want to monitor my own progress. Banded July 21, lost a lot the first month, stabilized the next few weeks and now I am feeling the restriction of my first fill and the weight is starting to move again. YEA! I am also walking 45 minutes a day, up a hill and down a hill. I think that is helping both my mental attitude and my weight loss. Weigh in tomorrow, but as of today, I am down to 248 from 280...yipee!

What is for lunch?
In my neck of the woods it is almost lunch time.... I am having one egg-salad with green olives green onions and celery, and a few slices of cooked zucchini. What are you having or did you have? :hungry:

Anyone out there have trouble with consumption too much alcohol
I am not a big drinker, but I do like some wine on the weekends. WELL, last night I was watching 2 weight loss shows, and one show the nutritionist, todl the woman, that drinking one glass of wine was like consuming the equivalent of sugar/carbs of 8, count them 8 tablespoons of sugar. I just couldn't even believe it. This just after I consumed one LARGE glass of wine. So that does it for me. I am done with alcohol for a long while. I really don't enjoy it that much anyway. Also, a friend of mine who imbibes much more than i do, who is also banded, said the same thing. Her weight came to a big standstill for months and is now giving it up for a while. So do what you need to do to get where you need to get. I am not giving it up forever, but will never forget that woman spooning 8 Tbsps of sugar into a wine glass. Cheers!

PRE-FILL Blues??
This made me laugh like heck and is EXACTLY what I am feeling right now and why I posted the "I dont' really even believe it" post.... This is what I am waiting for, and never really heard anyone describe it like this until today. THANK YOU for posting this post. BRING ROBIN BACK so she can tell us how she is doing 6 years later. This really brightened my day, Thank you Leatha!

I hit my year mark!!
Oh man, that is so inspiring, thank you for posting. You are hot, you know that don't you? Congratulations!

I kind of don't believe it....
You all make me feel better. Especially knowing that you had the same strange feelings Mousecrazy. You are always here to make me feel better. Hugs. I guess, I will just play these feelings out and when I get my next restriction then I will feel like it is more real. At the moment, my weight loss has stopped and I don't feel too much restriction. sigh :nervous

I kind of don't believe it....
Banded July 21st. Lost close to 30 pounds. Had one fill. Can eat too much. Booked second fill Sept 18. Right now, I am having a hard time believing that I am going to one day be posting my own pictures on the Before/After Shots thread. I guess I have failed at this for 25 years and can hardly believe that this will happen. Anyone else have these doubts. At the same time time a small part of me, KNOWS it will happen and I am very excited. But it can't happen fast enough for me.

2nd fill....now I have restriction!
OK, now I want a second fill. I am doing OK, but I know I can eat too much. I think my fill is 1.65, and now I want to go to 2. something. in my 4cc band that is.
-
Anyone really tight and not losing?
Thanks for that info. It is great to know.
-
Anyone want to talk about the Lap-Band?
This post gives me hope. I need a second fill.... currently 1.65 and 2 weeks later, very little restriction. I will wait a week and hopefully get a fill to 2.something. Thanks

Hey, losers!
To all my loser band-friends. Would someone who is successfully losing weight, please give me a food plan of what you eat in a day. My weight has come to a total slow down, almost stop and now I question if I am eating too much, if my fill isn't in the 'sweet spot', if I will ever lose weight with my current fill of 1.65 in a 4cc band. Thanks in advance. Paula

DR Wai leung
snort, thanks for that Yoda, yes I did get a card, will go check. Yes, if it IS a 4cc band, then I guess we will go up slowly... Thanks Yoda, Marie, it will be interesting to see what kind of fill you get on Thursday. Ask him when is a good time for a second fill, or what are the signs that one needs a second fill. Thanks

DR Wai leung
Thanks for that. Now, I may seem dumb saying this, but I actually am just guessing at the 10CC band. MARIE, HELP ME OUT HERE. We were banded one week apart, same surgeon. The man of few words, never actually told me. Could it be that I have a 10cm band??? I am jealous of your restriction. I'd love to hear a comparison of what you eat in a day with that restriction. Thank you kindly in advance.... I appreciate the input.

DR Wai leung
Well, the jury is still out on how my restriction is. I only had 1.65 CCs put in and if I had known, I might have insisted on more. Now, I know what people are saying that some days there is more restriction than others. I am hoping that a member here was right when she said that the fill might tighten up a bit after 2 weeks. I am going to give it one more week from today Marie, then if I am not properly restricted, I am booking another appointment. It is a PIA for me. I have 3 school aged kids and I will have to either make it a trip for the whole family, or make an appointment for Monday morning early, leave very early, have a fill, then drive home again. It is a 4 hour drive each way. I don't mind doing it, but as you can imagine, it is a nuisance. Like you, I paid 12,500. for this gadget, I want it to work for me. Let me know how your fill goes Marie. I want to know how many CC's he puts in you. My weight is fluctuating that last 3 pounds I took off. So it will be interesting what the scale says on Friday. So far, I have been eating pretty much low carb. But my usual low carb cheats are in the house and the nuts I am eating can't be helping my weight loss any. I have very little to nothing for Breakfast, coffee with milk and a cube of cheese. and lots of Water. I love, but shouldn't have those tiny full fat yogurts Minigo... For lunch today, I had one of those tiny cans of salmon salad. I love those, with 1/2 avacado and a bit of salad dressing and then I tossed a few nuts on top for crunch. For suppers, I am having whatever meat I prepare, chicken or fish usually, with some soft veggies. I guess my downfall would be the yummy, full fat Ranch Dressing I dip the veggies in. I feel very satisfied, but am eating too many Snacks of those yogurts, I eat 2 at a time, as they are so tiny, with a piece of cheese and like I confessed, too many nuts.

When does the fill stay with you
I don't think I did the water test very well the first time. I am not feeling very restricted at 1.65 in my 4cc band.

Surgery WITH the Band
Hello there. I had an ablation, (burning off of the walls of the uterus) 2 weeks after I was banded. Both surgeons knew of the other surgery and expecially the anesthesiologist of the second surgery. No one thought it a big deal and I was fine... Good luck with your surgery. I didn't have a fill at the time, but can't see any reason why I would have needed a defill. You will be fine, surgery is so fast and efficient these days. As soon as I was off the table, I was on my way home. Sleepy but otherwise fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. hugs Jack :kiss2:

DR Wai leung
OOps. Now I see your signature. What size band do you have? I need another fill for sure, but you started at the same basic weight as me and I need to shake things up to take off the next 20 pounds. Copngratulations to you! who hooo. Is your friend here in BC. There are two other choices in BC. Not a lot compared to Ontario. HEY MARIE, how things going for you? did you get your fill yet? I need another....

DR Wai leung
Wai Leung requires 30 - 35 days post op of Clear liquids. No, he does not require a pre op diet. I have to say that although I like Leung, he doesn't have good bedside manner, so some complain that he is not supportive. He is just very matter-of-fact. If I remember correctly, he charges 13,500.00 and fills for me are free for life. Yes, I have a 10CC band and I am complaining about the fill not being enough, so I am going to book an appointment for another. BUT, let me ask you a question. Why are you considering coming clear across the country? I live a 4 hour drive from Vancouver and find it a nuisance to get there for fills. Good luck with your decision.

Has Anyone Had Any Weird Cravings Since Being Banded????
I have lost most all my cravings. I am still craving protein though.
