YouTube lap band fill video
I am tough as nails about many things, 3 kids, natural childbirth, 3 surgeries etc. But little tiny needles scare me. Go figure. I was so nervous about my first fill. My surgeon does not use any numbing agent. I also didn't look, and was happily embarrassed by the lack of pain of my first and second fill. :nervous

Carrot north of band!!
Marjon, I have pulled out my juicer so I can easily 'eat' or digest the goodness from the juices of any vegetable. I found and bought some aloe vera dessert from the Chinese specialty foods section of my grocer, after reading this thread. I will keep this if I ever feel something stuck. Good information in this thread.... And yes, I just enjoyed a salad with much shredded carrots...yum...

Carrot north of band!!
Update? I am wondering how you know for certain it was/is there? Can you feel it? Can you see it under floro? Just curious. Hope it passed....

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
I am really feeling like I need a fill. I am still fairly tight in the am, but can eat too much in the pm. Will wait a few more weeks and watch my weight. I have not lost, but not gained over the Christmas holidays, but defin ate too many sweets. Cheers everyone.

I'm freaking out- 2 surgeries 1 month (ladies)
I had a general and gyno surgery only 2 weeks after my lap band, NO PROBLEM. Don't worry. Hugs, that IS a lot to think about. I feel so wonderful, I am so glad I did both surgeries, and I got to heal from them both at the same time. I swear I should be a lab rat, I felt just fine. Hope you do too.

Id also do it all over again. If I didn't, I have no doubt that I'd still weigh 280 pounds. Good luck in your decision. hugs

I'm thrilled, and a question
I don't eat out much, but when I do, I just eat off my kids' plates. I agree that you need to get over your "have to eat everything on your plate" idea. I have it too, lets not treat our bodies like garbage cans....

I,m so clean

What went through your mind the night before?
Oh dear, I thought of jumping off the op table and running. I thought about my 3 young kids. I thought of everything negative and everything positive. I am almost 5 months out and 50 pounds down now and I am SO glad I didn't jump off the table and run away. Good luck tomorrow. See you on the other side. It is pretty great over here. hugs

Am I Going 2 Have Scars All Over My Stomach
Wow, beautiful skin Diane. I have to pipe in as I have keloids. I am NOT happy with my scars thus far. The skin on my tummy was one of the nicest parts of my body despite it being fat. But, you said it. I'd WAY rather be at goal and have a few scars to tell my story. I CAN always have a plastic surgeon work on making them lighter or thinner later when I am at goal. Good luck with your decision. I am sure happy with mine to get banded and 4 months later I am 50 pounds lighter on my feet.

Banded Bulimic
Teresita, I WAS bulemic and still have tendencies. You are not alone. Please, we have to work on this. I keep thinking of something my banded friend said. She said something like, 'We have to watch out how many times we 'test' our band, because we have to take good care of it to KEEP it..." Now her idea of 'testing' may have been overeating. In my case, it is eating, vomiting and eating more. Any such stress may aid in erosion, the band eating its way into the stomach lining or putting stress on our esophagus. There are many things htat can happen. So I guess I am saying, we love our band, we need to be careful to follow the rules as closly as we can, not putting pressure or stressing it by overeating, and/or bringing up food unnesessarily. However else we need to release our stress, we need to find a way OTHER than eating.... hugs and know that you are not alone. Good for you for coming out. I guess it kind of helped me come out so thanks for that.

Please tell me it isn't my band....
Ya, now they ARE itchy. I am suspicious that it might be chicken pox. Don't remember having it as a child, will just watch it for a few days. Thanks everyone. Comforting to know you had something similar Serena. Thanks all.

Please tell me it isn't my band....
Thanks Lisa, I just had the water tested yesterday as a matter of fact. All was well. JUST PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE THE BAND. No new foods, no new clothes, no new detergent. I am at a loss....

Rash?
I was banded this past July. I am not on any meds and haven't since before I was banded. I took a dose of Nyquil last night? I won't panic. My doc is out until Jan, so I might go to the walk in clinic. Thanks for your response.... No new food, no new detergent, no new clothes, no new products...I am at a loss here. Tell me not to panic. And I don't know if it is my imagination or what, but it IS itchy.... My doc is on holidays, so I might go to the walk in.... BTW Ariel! I see you aren't banded yet. Other than this rash, I feel so awesome. The band has given me hope in the weight loss battle. I feel so much more energy, I feel lighter on my feet, I sleep better, I just LOVE my band. Good luck with your journey, I will be watching out for you. hugs

Rash?
I posted this in the complications forum, but more people come here. So here goes. This morning I have developed a rash on my torso. They look like mosquito bites or acne, they don't itch, hurt or bother me. I just need to know it isn't band related. Phoned my surgeon's office and secretary hasn't heard anything similar, so I am hoping it is my hot tub, or clothes or the weather or something I ate. Please tell me if you have heard of anything similar.

Please tell me it isn't my band....
Banded 4 months ago. Feeling GREAT! But, this morning I have a rash all over my body, mostly my torso, some on my legs. They look like mosquito bites, they don't hurt, they don't itch, but I am worried about it being related to my band. Could it be lack of nutrition? Could it be my hot tub, chlorine? Tell me anything but it being my band.

Why can't my husband understand????
My dh reacted the same way. I feel for you, many men/women others can't understand our pain and the struggle. I just quoted that 95-97% of people who diet, eventually fail gaining back all the weight. I also said that if I needed a new hip or knee replacement, he would feel different. I also said that if as he said, "eating a little less and exercising a little more" worked, he'd be a billionarie and have solved obesity as we know it. Dr Oz too for that matter. Finally, I said, this is my body and my money, and my decision. He wishes I didn't do this, I wish I didn't have to resort to surgery, but until some brainiac comes up with a magic pill, this is my best choice for a healthier life. PS hugs, I hope your guy comes around. Mine did, we don't talk about it much, which I prefer, but I sure feel better about myself 50 pounds less, he can see that I feel better. This is time for me. I too have 3 kids and have given up my all to be their mom and his devoted wife. This is for me. I told my dh that I appreciated his challenging my thinking, but in the end, I feel this was my best choice. Good luck, this is probably the toughest part, making and following through with your decision. hugs

That sounds great Gaffer.

Canadian Doctors/Clinics
I paid 12, 500. No extra charge for fills. His secretary is an excellent source of information. English is his second language and he doesn't have the best bedside manner, but I trust his skill implicitly. You would have to ask about another doctor filling after his work.
