I am staying on plan today, because I watched Oprah's rerun on omentums and I want to shrink mine. Plus I just went to the gym and worked my tush off.

I'd like your advice....
and thank you for your reply Kitty. I have searched and haven't found too many people over the 3.0 fill mark on our band. Glad to hear from you. I think I have decided that I will wait until the new year and then see if one more tiny fill will do the trick. Until then, I will work on my willpower and exercise regime. Cheers.....

I'd like your advice....
Aw Josephine, thanks for your response. I have to admit that I have had not been following the rules, and perhaps I wanted a small fill to give myself a kick start. The ONLY reason I hesitate to do so is I am afraid to get too tight. My fills require me to drive 4 hours, stay overnight and drive back the next day. I was hoping someone could tell me that .2 over 3.0 in a 4.0 band would make a huge difference in getting to goal when one is so close. I admit to grazing, grazing on cashews, my meals are very healthful. I too haven't had fried foods since my banding, never eat bread, noodles, rice etc. But I admit to grazing. So I have recommitted this week, the scale hasn't moved, so will continue to work on it.

Passing For Thin - Support Thread for Those Approaching Goal
Just joining in on this conversation. Have not read all the former responses. I feel as though physically, I can pass for thinish, but what a fat head I still have. I have been overweight since foreverrrrrrr, and have never 'thought' like a thin person. I have always felt the fat girl. My head is still there. I don't 'feel' as though I look fat, but I associate myself with the 'fat girl' image. I catch myself wanting to say disparaging comments, like "my fat ass" or sitting on a chair hoping I doesn't break. I really need to work on this. I know I look thinnish, I just need to work on those voices in my head.

I'd like your advice....
"Boy, I found this forum and have become quite a nuisance of myself haven't I? Here goes. I feel stupid asking. I really am a capable 43 year old woman. But I am befuddled. See my stats below. I need seasoned advice at this point in my weight loss. Some days I feel as though I can eat too much, other days, through reasons beyond my control, my fill feels pretty tight. Historically, I like and need, a snug fill to lose weight. I still have 20 to go, and I am sorry but I can not be a marathon runner. I can not change my personality and become an exercise lover. I do go to the gym 2-3 times a week, work out hard. In addition, I walk for 40-50 minutes around my hilly neighbourhood, almost daily. I just can't see me enjoying and fitting in any more. I admit I am a bit impatient. I could probably lose this weight in the next year, doing what I am doing and losing less than a couple of pounds a month. But that just frustrates me. Origionally, I thought I'd be at goal by the end of this year, but as we get closer to October, I am starting to doubt that goal. I'd like to know from your experience, if adding a small fill will help me get to goal. Do I need one more tiny fill? Appreciate any and all advice from those who have been there. :ducks for cover:

I used to avoid mirrors.
PS, I only have 3 pair of pants that fit. There is NO way I can find any near here. I have to drive to Vancouver to Tall Girl. What a nuisance. I don't even try at regular stores. How are lengths in Up-side-down-land? Ha, Julie, you are just gorgeous, I'd be checking myself out often too. Great feeling isn't it. Much better than the 'invisible' former me. If I kept myself invisible, then I didn't know how fat I got, and hopefully no one else would either.:heh:

I used to avoid mirrors.
I laughed out loud on the 'standing on the edge of the bath tub' story. WORD! I only ever wanted to see myself from the chin up. Now I want to see it all. Tomorrow, I will take a pic of my new mirror. It is a big black framed lean against the wall mirror. It's killer gorgeous. lol! I want to show it off.

I used to avoid mirrors.
Today I bought a full length mirror. That way I can check myself out. LOL! I am loving this band. 19 to go.

Countdown to goal.....
Right on Kim. I have to say I don't keep track of my food either, and I must start. I can eat just about anything, so either I need one tiny fill to get to goal or I will have to track my intake. I have gotten into some bad habits. One bad habit is grazing, grabbing something, nuts, cheese, all day long. Gah! So I think the key to the last few is diligence and discipline. Good for you on the exercise. Most of the peeps on this board who are close to goal are exercising their way there. I am so proud and envious of the marathon runners...what dedication that takes. Welcome and lets cheer each other on. I did pretty well yesterday. Didn't drink enough Water, will focus on that today. I am sore from the gym but know I must go today even though. I have been keeping up with my daily walks with my husband. He power walks and I have a hard time keeping up sometimes, especially on the hills. He broke into a job a couple of times, I did too and um ew. I hate how my boobs feel, my knees, wow, I have always felt jogging was a hard one for my body type. Rock on toward goal everyone.

Does Anyone Ever Forget They Have The Band?
With regard to physical reminders, I am like others, I really only think about it when I eat, or plan my meals, or when my port is 'bugging' me..... But mentally reminders, I think about it much of the time. But that is not a bad thing.

A year ago today

Calling Chickie....
I just saw a new picture in your siggy. WOW! You look marvelous. LOVE the new suit. Can we see that closer? Have you posted to the Before and After thread. I just want to say congratulations, you look beautiful, hip, young and gorgeous. You are a true inspiration. Nuther question. I see you are at 0 in your fill. How is that going? Do you still feel some restriction? Tell us, tell us....
-
Got a fill and lost restriction!
No worries. This didn't happen until I got to over 2.7cc. My first few fills were automatically noticable, which is why this was so confusing. One would think that one would feel progressively tighter. My guess is that things just have to adjust and settle...??? The only thing I am sure about the band is that there is nothing to be sure of. But it sure produced some excellent results in me. Good luck with your journey.

Countdown to goal.....
Oh you are so sweet. I do look great. lol! I am just shy of 6ft, But I have a tummy I need to get rid of. It is the last place to come off. I will never be a bikini model, nor do I want to be, but I just can't stay at 195 and be happy. I am about a size 14-16 depending on the cut. Size 12 at the Tall Girl. Thanks for your encouragement. I will be happy to lose another 10, but 20 would be my ultimate weight. 175, sigh! Had a great day with regards to food. Now need about 100 more days like it. Going to drink some Water now. Right on Gaffer. The 16,000 dollar man. Lol! I still laugh about that and hear that noise....

Got a fill and lost restriction!
The SAME thing happened to me. I got a fill to 3.0, from 2.8 and came home, a long 5 hour drive and could munch down a huge rice cake with cheese, I almost swallowed it whole to test it. There is a post here somewhere of me freaking out. BUT THANKFULLY, I tightened up after a few days or a week and could then I could really tell that I was given a fill. Don't dispare yet, it might tighten up and you will be losing again. If you don't tighten up after a week or two, then there may be some explanation as to what happened. I don't know, either the needle didn't get back into the port membrane when the saline was put back in or ??? any number of things. I hope things tighten up for both of you the way it did for me. But I know from direct experience that this was a very strange occurance.

Countdown to goal.....
....hey, Julie, saw your bod, gorgeous you.... I can't wait, I have been staring at this 195 all summer. Some days I am insulted that another pound or two hasn't fallen off, so I needed to add some verbs into my action plan. Join us. I ain't leaving this thread until I call goal. If it takes me aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll this and next year, I'm not giving up. Never surrender.
