So what are you unable to eat now?

I’m gonna be totally honest. I had gastric sleeve 6 months ago. I cannot hardly eat anything!! It’s very frustrating. Things I loved before don’t taste right. Sometimes just the texture makes me spit it right back up. Every time I eat is a guessing game if I’m going to tolerate it or not. Soups have been my best food to try and eat. Meat (which I loved) doesn’t work well for me. I have heartburn 24/7. I had a hernia repair when I had my surgery so I’m not sure why that is. I hope that I’ll be able to tolerate more in the future because it can be quite depressing to feel this way. Not trying to be negative in any sense just prepare yourself mentally for what could happen.

  4. I’m 2 1/2 months out. 63 lbs down. I’m in a battle with finding different foods that won’t make me sick and that agrees with my new pouch. My boyfriend just does NOT understand my issues because he knows someone who was sleeved and he was able to eat anything and not be affected by it. I’m sooo different. Anyone been through this? Feeling alone at this point.
  5. My nine weeks post op. For anyone who says this is the easy way out they have no clue what they r talking about. This is hard work but oh sooo worth it I’ve now lost 58lbs so far

    Under 25 and choosing this?!

This surgery is not a cop-out like most think. This is an opportunity for you to take charge of your life and do something proactive about your situation. Your willingness to take the steps for a “life time” commitment shows your maturity. Make yourself happy and don’t let others decide how YOU live. I’m 42. I wish I had the sleeve surgery a long time ago. Just my personal opinion. Good luck on your journey!!!

Thank you, You look amazing as well Neely. I can’t wait to be able to tolerate food a little better. I was drinking 4 bottles a water a day but since I’ve had real food I do well to get 3 in a day.

I’m 7 weeks out. I’ve lost 49 lbs so far. Can’t eat hardly anything. I’ve been stuck same weight for 3 or 4 days. Beginning to think I need to try and get more calories in since I’m reading it has helped others.

8 weeks in and only lost 11kgs :(

I’m 7 weeks out and have lost 49 lbs so far. However I weighed 345 lbs the day I came home from hospital. I think the higher the weight I may lose more at first. I’ve slowed down and seem stuck at same weight for 3 or 4 days at a time. Hopefully it will pick back up soon for me

  14. I’m 3 weeks post op. Never had any issues at all. Since I’ve been on soft foods this week I’ve found it really hard to get all my water in. I feel sooo full all the time. Anyone else go through this at this stage?

I had trouble getting my protein shake in too the first week. Just listen to your body and strive to get as much in as you can. It will get easier.
  16. Did anyone else have robotic surgery? Mine was on 3-11-19. If so, how are you doing after having it done.
  17. My nutritionist says if you drink while you eat it can stretch your stomach. So her rule of thumb is don’t drink 15 min before a meal. Take 15-30 min to eat and don’t drink until 15 min after meal. This personally works for me and I was a huge drinker before. Like the other person said if I take a sip of drink while eating I feel beyond stuffed and it’s sooo uncomfortable. This has been my experience.

I am still burping too. I’ve heard from others that will go away around the 3rd month. I hope so cause you’re right it’s annoying. The 3rd day I thought I was having a heart attack because of the gas pain I was having. I just walked and walked as much as I could. By the 4th day it was gone.

Eating for the first time did NOT go well!

My surgery was on 3-11. I ate a egg over easy mushed it up as fine as I could. Took me around 45 min to eat it. I was full for hours. Down side is about 30 min after eating I had to go to bathroom 4 times. It was horrible. All that trouble over one lil egg. Not sure it’s worth it. Lol. I too am scared about eating.
